on downhills there are airs that are just as big or bigger than chads, but air is slow so they try to minimize air. Im pretty sure bode would do fine hitting chads, since he's used to taking air at 70 or 80 mph, not like 40-50 that it takes gap chads or pyramid. hitting it switch might be tough for him, but as we've seen in yearbook, skiing outside of a park was pretty tough for tanner, as he made an ass of himself trying to ski a relatively simple double drop.

Racers seldom are good at hitting jumps.

I used to race, and they teach you to absorb the takeoff in order to minimize air.

When you take this to a jump with kick (as one of these gaps would have) racers fall into the back seat and land on their backs.

It's the reason why so many "great" racers got massacred in skiercross. Don't know how to jump.

Racing teaches you lots about skiing well, but not a fucking thing about jumping.

The American Ski team is the best it has EVER been, the technology that is developed for guys like Bode is DIRECTLY responsible for ski improvements on ALL skis….including you little snowblades. Ski racing has done nothing but improve our sport in all aspects…Bodes success is bringing media coverage and corporate sponsors to our sport that were reluctant in the past. Do you have ANY clue about the direction this sport is taking and the need for clean cut athletes like Bode to continue bringing MONEY and ATTENTION to a dying sport. That’s right…winter sports are not that popular….and we need all the help that’s possible…get the fck out

of your little terrain park vacumn and look at the bug picture….its about exposure and all the exposure we get helps…whether it is a Jimmy Heuga charity race or Bode taking the overall title…or Johnny Mosely singing on siruis satellite radio…it all helps…

And BTW…hitting a downhill air at Kitzbuhl at 90mph and dropping 100 vertical feet onto ICE makes chads look like pssy food…There are two times within the Design and Construction Process exterior colors and materials are addressed.

^wat could ever be bad about more money and attention getting pumped into our sport....for skiing to grown we need big corporations to be excited about it........more mountains, less closing, more patrks, better features, more comps, bigger budgets for films, more kids gettig into it.....there is nothing but positive repercutions for more attention

hitting chads gap is not all that impressive. throwing a switch 9 over it is a lot more impressive. its a matter of certainty that bode miller, DR, herman meirer or any other talented downhiller would have no trouble HITTING chads gap. they probably wouldnt be able to do such fancy trickery over it, but i assure you, they would be able to hit it. airs in the middle of austrian downhill courses dwarf chads gap, and dont have such a nice powder landing.

alot of these kids need to watch a downhill up close and personal before they start talking about how downhillers arent shit.

really, what sort of arguement is that? 99.9% of the kids on here would explode after a jump like that. of course bode will. tell tanner to race some super GS course in Austria, then he will die. Nothing gets accomplished with an arguement like that. Both skiers have been training for years in their respective areas and the skills obviously are not going to simply cross over.

i couldn't care less if people hate on racing or vice versa. whenever someone is in the spotlight for being an uber athlete, people always find a reason to hate. thats fine, but if you're gonna hate at least try to develop some resemblance to a logical arguement.

why use a big word when a diminutive one will suffice?
 
someone said to me on a lift that snowboarding was better and there was a larger community....fuck that...i love that our sport is unique and niche...i see no need to have enormous corporate sponsors dumping cash into our events and frankly i see no need for our sport to expand...having a small community makes events like the us open awsome because you walk around and know everybody...what would improve by having Coke (for example) dumping cash into our sport as a result of more media coverage..I personally dont see any need to have McDonalds banners on the course of next years open..we dont need more money in out sport..our companies are small and the community is close...why commercialize everything...bigger isnt necassarily better
