Again if Hamilton was in a car capable of winning he would be winning. Simple as that. If Ferrari can give him a car that can win he will win. Simple as that. Lewis has shown on multiple Occasions over the past few years he still absolutely has the speed with multiple fastest laps and multiple q3 appearances. Last time I check Russel isn’t winning either right? So the car is not capable of winning. Curious when were you born that you’ve been watching since “had to read about it” f1 began broadcasting in the states in 81.

I turned 16 in 1980, I'm don't think I got cable and actually saw a race until later in 81 or 82 . I realize Merc isn't going to win, but if Lewis was in 5 year ago form he'd at least be close to the podium no?

Hes in a car that’s not capable of being on the podium. So no. Again Russel isn’t on the podium either. A car is everything in formula one. Again you’d think someone who claims to have been watching for so long would understand this is the way it’s always been. If you don’t have a car to compete you can’t do shit. Look where Ferraris been for years. Looks where mclarens been for years. And what’s going on now? They both produced cars that are capable of winning and what’s happening? They’re both winning now, they’re both on the podium in a regular basis again. You can put max in the Mercedes and he wouldn’t podium either.

Is anyone watching the 500 atm? Larson is doing pretty well atm. Had a rough restart in the wrong gear. Looks like he will forsure arrive late to the Coke 600.

I just looked back at every race so far this season. Miami is the only race where Lewis finished ahead of Russell. Same slow car. Russell 54 pts Lewis 42 pts. Father Time is undefeated. At least Schumacher got one podium that "shit" car.

How many podiums does Russel have?

So that would be zero. Lol. Again you’re arguing about results in a shitty car that isn’t performing lol. Hamilton doesn’t agree with the car. Your comments read like a someone’s who’s literally never seen f1 before and doesn’t understand how the sport works. “Why is this supposedly good guy not doing good?” Lando sucked the last few years but is suddenly winning. Is it because he suddenly is a good driver? No it’s because he has a car than can compete.

Might want to double check who has more fastest laps between the two within the team. Because you’re wrong.

Results are more important than fast laps. Hulkenberg and Yuki bust out some fast ass laps in Q. On a team there's always a #1 or a favorite and no 2 cars are exactly the same. Believe me Hamilton is #1 and the favorite of course he's gonna get the better of the 2 cars. But he still has worse finishes than Russell. I'll go back and say what I said again. I hope I'm wrong and Hamilton gets back but to his old form in the red car. But history is on my side. I like old guys and WCs and that win in Austin by Kimi was prob my favorite moment in F1. I'm not sure why you're all up with the personal attacks but my friends at this wedding reception that I'm at are getting a kick out of our battle. I hope your vast knowledge of F1 proves correct and Hamilton wins a WC for Ferrari next season. We'll revisit this thread in 25. I gotta go party now. have a good one!

Well you’re saying two different things. First you keep saying that he’s slower than Russel which has been factually proven that you’re wrong. In pure speed Hamilton still holds the edge over Russel this season. So you’re wrong on your first point. Second you’re harping on the points. You do realize there’s an entire season to finish right? The season didn’t end today at Monaco so I’m not sure what you’re hanging your hat on. It’s 12 points. It’s well known Lewis is not getting the newest greatest and is absolutely the #2 driver. He’s been cut out future development meetings and Russel is getting first dibs on new parts coming out of the factory, Monaco included. Mercedes has shut Hamilton out since he’s announced he’s leaving to Ferrari which has been well documented. I’m really glad you’re with some friends. Tell them to keep an eye on you because you must have a concussion with the nonsense you keep spouting. We can re visit this thread in 26. 25 is going be another max show.

Oh boy do I hope Ocon gets punished by Alpine. He has shown his idiot side once again with that move. Meanwhile he says he still sees himself as a Mercedes junior and hopes to get a better seat and actually things he has a chance of getting Lewis his seat next to Russel hahaha. That guy is so full of himself, amazing..

Famin (Alpine teamboss) said this action would have big consequences Ocon. Latest rumor is Alpine will bench him for one race and get Jack Doohan their reserve driver in the car. I would enjoy every second of that.

I really hoped Gasly would consistently outperform Ocon but that is not the case, yet?

Really interested what will happen in the drivers market. Lots of things to happen..

My feeling of what we’ve been seeing of Lewis is that it confirms to me that he’s not a particularly good development driver. He’s amazing when the car is right for him, the track and against the competition but when it’s not right there’s some sort of issue in him helping to fix it. We’ve seen it before through his F1 career, consistently on top when things go well but slow to remedy it when it doesn’t. It could be engineers misinterpreting his feedback, how he gets the car set up over the weekend, him not reading the issues with the car quite right, or a combination of all of them.

His raw talent of being able to get results with a good car are undeniable but it’s hard to get a gauge on whether he’s changing as a driver when the car isn’t good, as can be seen by Russell equally not getting results, despite seeming to me to being a better development driver, as shown through his time at Williams, because he had to be.

There’s so many factors that go into teams and drivers getting results, you can’t (usually) put it down to driver ability, unless you’re perma-rookie Stroll.

Ocon’s attitude on and off track stinks. Mercedes would be scraping the barrel in my opinion if they’re taking Ocon to fill Hamilton’s seat.

Gasly’s lowkey getting destroyed by Ocon. Contrary to popular opinion I believe he outperformed him last season as well. Almost equal points but with 7 DNFs compared to Gasly’s 3.

Toto basically said the same. If Ferrari can give him a car capable of winning he will win a title with Ferrari.

And there we have it, no contract renewal for Ocon at Alpine. He needs to find a seat at another team or it’s all over.

I don’t think this is a surprise really but it’s confirmed.

Rumors say he might go to Haas, what do you think? Realistic? That would be such a weird fit..

Alpine should put Jack Doohan in that seat and if Gasly leaves they can put Mick in there. Alpine is such a mess at the moment. Famin is not capable of turning that ship. Those hot shot investors said they would put their experience in haha, well they should start making an effort..

Perez signed a new 2 year deal with RB. Two years, why RB? Horner needed to create stability after all his mess.. But Perez needs to step up if they want to win the constructors again.. I must admit I hoped they would not re-sign Perez, just to shake things up a bit more..

I think he was second choice for the other Audi seat if Carlos doesn’t take it.

I’m not sure who should drive for Haas with Bearman, Magnusson is done. Maybe Bottas

I’d love to see Mick get another shot and be second to Gasly, who seems to be talking the team game at Alpine right now.

I’m not sure what’s going on at RB, despite Yuki probably deserving the seat, seems like he’s never going to get it. I guess they’re just doing everything to keep Max and a neutered Checo won’t challenge him in the way bringing on Carlos could.

I think the RB door shutting will push Carlos to make a move soon.

Not many were expecting Red Bull to continue with Perez but they seem to be doing well as a team with Max and Perez as their drivers.

Only after Ocons departure of Alpine was announced all the rumors of him being on a lot of team lists came out. It made no sense to me. Before the news nobody said Ocon was on Audi's shortlist. Of course all teams look at all options but most are not a realistic or good fit. I dont think Ocon fits in the profile Audi is looking for, nor Mercedes. Only a team desperate looking for a driver with years of F1 experience not wanting a rookie and not being able to sign a faster more expensive driver. But I really wouldnt be surprised if Ocon doesnt find a seat. The timing is good for teams to put a rookie in so he will be ready for 2026.

Perez needs to do a solid job to secure the constructors for RB.

Ferrari also went back to original programming..

Very enjoyable how close it has become.. Interested in the race!

haas could've had such a great race, typical.

If Sergeant had brought out the safety car Haas could have brought home a bunch of points off the back of their gamble but no such luck, and then they fumbled the ball anyway with Magnussen’s pit stop and left Hulkenberg out on the wets too long.

changeable weather brings out the best racing.

Mercedes did well yesterday in free practice and I expect another good performance from them in Spain after a good showing in Canada.

Yea i was just trolling. I still enjoy F1 but haven't been in it at all this year. Every weekend i've been on a mountain getting bucked off jumps and breaking my ankles.

Alex Palou wins at leguna seca in the gay vehicle infuriating many

Palou has been the fastest driver for most of the year. He was putting impressive times in at the 24 hours earlier in the months too. Funny enough I thought about how mad peeps would be on this forum just by seeing his car lol

Max Verstappen of Indycar. People get sooooo mad at the livery in social media comments, it’s so funny.

Haha, another interesting take from you. Imagine wanting Sainz, who brings in no sponsorship money to the team, no exposure, and inconsistent results over 24 races, vs Lewis who will bring in massive sponsorship money, merch sales & insane driver feedback for the mechanics. Plus, Lewis always performs better in the 2nd half of the season as has been the case in the last 3 seasons at least. Him, Max and Alonso are incredible when it comes to performing under huge pressure. Something the Sainz, Russell and Perez aren't so good at, and they often make mistakes when it counts.

Spoken like a true fan. Well said my man.

Gasly signed multi deal contract with Alpine. My guess he had no really good other options so better to have a multi year contract into the next rules era.

Stroll decided to stay in F1 longer as well..

DR will probably be replaced by Liam Lawson. Good for Lawson, he deserves a chance to really show what he can do. DR might be able to sign somewhere else and otherwise to be honest I will not miss him anymore, he is not adding much anymore..

I would say the second one. Alonso in the red bull and you’d have a 1-2 every race.

I exclusively race RBR on asseto corsa, he’s dealing with real shitty under steer.

Fernando might be finally slowing down :((

or the AM is really just that bad

Alonso making clear to AM they really need to work harder to improve the car. Plus making Stroll happy by finishing behind Lance to "prove" he is a good and deserves that seat......
