Haha De la Rosa is an ambassador for the AM F1 team, he is paid by daddy Stroll. Of course he is not going to say there is a reason why Lance should be replaced. Sure he is good guy and a skier and all but we're talking about a billion dollar company. Sponsor pay big bucks and all.

In the end the points will say enough. You can not keep saying you want to win championships while keeping your underperforming son on the team. If you want to go for top 3 you need top 3 drivers, Lance is midfield. Check his results, he is not growing.

He works directly for the team and knows far more than you my friend. Lance ain’t going anywhere. His father literally bought the team so the kid would have a ride. They locked up Alonso. Nothing else will change until lance decides to walk away. Daddy pays the bills.

I am not saying Lance will leave, I am saying AM SHOULD replace Lance if they seriously want to go for the championship because they need the points.

It makes zero sense to keep a mid field driver if you have a competitive car, a world champion as first driver, billion dollar team, big sponsors etc and you say you want to win championships. Drivers are not under budget cap and Stroll said many times how much money the team is getting in, just put a better driver in there. Its a untenable situation and you can not justify this another year to all the people working their ass off to make the team better and the sponsors that pay big money. But he, that just my opinion.
 
The question of Stroll is going to keep getting asked as long as he drives like a rookie. When they become a fully fledged works team with Honda on board and Aramco getting more involved, there is going to be expectations from them that they’re going to start competing more for constructors championships, and if Alonso brings the results but Stroll is still languishing in the midfield, the pressure can’t be ignored. What’s more likely is papa stroll will just sell up before he drops his son.

the battle for 3rd in the sprint was some classic wheel to wheel racing. A true “through goes Hamilton!” silverstone moment for Perez.

We both fully agree he should be dropped.

I agree with the statement above that his dad will sell the team before letting go on lance. Honda is going to push for Yuki. They always want someone Japanese regardless of the results. Same story in moto gp.

You can keep parroting that same nonsense but the team has made it clear. It’s fully built and lance. And that’s not changing. He doesn’t give a shit about the money. Doesn’t need it. This is a pet project for his son. Nothing more. When lance decides he’s done his father will sell the team.
 
The Hulk will join Stake Sauber next year to become an Audi driver in 2026.

His career is so weird. Williams, Force India, Sauber, Force India, Renault, no seat but replacing both Perez and Stroll for Racing Point for a couple of races, reserve and test driver AM, Haas and now Sauber > Audi.

I did not expect Audi to actually go for him, I guess he convinced them with his wide spread and testing experience. Good for him. It will be really interesting who Audi will contract next to him.

Newey leaving RB after this season. Wel actually, he no longer works on the F1 car as of this moment (!), only on the RB17 road car project and some other things. He could join another team Q1 2025 so he could work on a teams 2026 car..

I hope he joins another team, that will be so interesting to see..

I wouldn’t say that for sure. He met with freddi in London to talk about a Ferrari contract. The lure of Ferrari in f1 is massive. If he really wanted to book end his career winning a title for Ferrari with Hamilton I say would do that just fine.

Well he can start in 25 and his first car would be 26 with the new regs. I don’t even like Hamilton but him in 26 in a newey designed car could be an unstoppable combo.

He has multiple houses (one in South Africa) and his yacht is not ready.. He said yesterday they might buy a motorhome and spend a couple of months traveling. But he also said he expects at some point he needs a new project. Now that could also be in other sports but the whole interview made me think he just wants to take a couple of months before he starts his next F1 project. On the other hand he looked quite old.. We'll see..

Building a special Ferrari boat could be a fun “project” lol. Im sure they’re going to offer him anything he wants. whatever floats his boat. Literally. As long as he signs
 
McLaren played the chances perfectly with their pit stops with Norris, and the SC coming out behind him secured track position for the pit stop and restart.

Norris then decently nailed the restart, bringing home a long-overdue win. Watching that gap between NOR & VER grow up to 1+ seconds was tense.

It's hard to weigh the factors but it seems the upgrades on the car worked for Mclaren with Norris pulling away consistently through the second half of the race, against that though is, how much of an advantage the fresher hard tyres gave him, max's reported struggles around the Miami circuit (cope?), and how badly the current regs have failed at dealing with (and even possibly making worse) the issue of dirty air for following cars.

It will be interesting to see how McLaren stack up against Ferrari at Imola. It's also embarrassing for Mercedes, being beaten by a customer team, almost doubling the points they have.

It's clear to see Haas have taken a new approach to getting championship points too, using driver penalty points as an asset to assist the other driver in the team. I can't help but feel there has been a briefing for the Haas drivers that says: do whatever you need to to help the other driver if you're not going to make championship points, including making moves that are against the rules and will result in penalty points. I'm pretty sure K-Mag only has 1 point left before he gets a race ban now.
 
Forgot how challenging this track is. Watching live right now. Excited for vcarb team getting some points Ricciardo needs this.

very true, they will regret this decision in the years to come. Charles and Carlos are a both great drivers. It would be great to have a team at the top where both drivers had a shot to win. RB with Vettel, Mercedes with Hamilton, now RB with Seb. It's always a clear 1-2 driver situation. It'd be fun to have a little inter team comp.

Imagine wanting Sainz, who brings in no sponsorship money to the team, no exposure, and inconsistent results over 24 races, vs Lewis who will bring in massive sponsorship money, merch sales & insane driver feedback for the mechanics. Plus, Lewis always performs better in the 2nd half of the season as has been the case in the last 3 seasons at least. Him, Max and Alonso are incredible when it comes to performing under huge pressure. Something the Sainz, Russell and Perez aren't so good at, and they often make mistakes when it counts.

What's Lewis's insightful message for the mechanics" Set up the car so I can barely make it out of Q2".. Also who's more the most races in this latest RB take over.. I believe that would be Mr. Sainz. Also bloodline of a champion if you know anything about WRC.

7 titles and 103 wins. Game over. If Sainz and Hamilton were in equal cars Hamilton would wipe the floor with him. If Hamilton was in the redbull today he would be actively be winning and max likely wouldn’t have as many titles as he does now. I don’t even like Hamilton but I have no problems admitting the facts. Carlos Sainz has never been nor will be ever as good of a driver as Hamilton. Talk to me when he’s got 1 title. Let alone 7.

Live in the past much. Drivers get old and slow down. It's just the way it goes. How did it work out for Vettel and Alonso at Ferrari? they both had a bunch of championships too. Nobody wishes the old guys could come back and revive there glory days more than me.Cuz I am one. Especially Schumacher's attempted comeback and Alonso right now. but it's never happened before and it ain't gonna happen next season. And just FYI Ferrari is my fave team. I hope I'm wrong and Lewis wins 10 races next year, but I'll bet you 1k it's not gonna happen.

Hamilton hasn’t slowed. His car has. What did he do in the last car that was capable of winning? Narrowly Lost the title. Since then the cars been shit. You and everyone knows that. Vettle went to Ferrari and the car wasn’t the best, Alonso same story. Alonso now with Aston. Not the best car. What happened when the Aston was decent? Alonso almost won and was second in the championship. When Schumacher went to Mercedes the car again was shit. I’m 40 my friend. I’ve been watching since the days of senna. If you’re a “fan” you’d understand if the car isn’t. Winning platform it doesn’t matter who’s behind the wheel. Swap max and Hamilton and you’d have Hamilton winning non stop and max doing nothing. Those are just facts myfriend.

If Hamilton was the driver he was 5 years ago, he would at least be challenging for some podium spots or at least be faster than Russell, no? And I'm the kind of "fan" who's been closely following F1 since before Senna, when we used to have to read about it in Car and Driver and Road and Track. Like I said, I hope I'm wrong and Lewis wins a bunch of races for the Prancing Horse next season, but my past experiences with getting excited about a former champ showing up and getting us back to the top have not worked out too well.

hamiltons definitely slowed a little, but still easily one of the top 3 drivers on the grid either way.

Again if Hamilton was in a car capable of winning he would be winning. Simple as that. If Ferrari can give him a car that can win he will win. Simple as that. Lewis has shown on multiple Occasions over the past few years he still absolutely has the speed with multiple fastest laps and multiple q3 appearances. Last time I check Russel isn’t winning either right? So the car is not capable of winning. Curious when were you born that you’ve been watching since “had to read about it” f1 began broadcasting in the states in 81.

There’s just absolutely no proof that he’s slowed. He still bangs out fastest laps and when the car is “decent” he’s been up there. That’s not a slowed driver that’s a slowed car. Again this is coming from someone who despises Hamilton. The facts are just the facts though and as you said you still “one of the fastest” which is what I’m saying.
