For those of you that still aren't convinced that Bobby Brown has style

again. what is not forced about jumping 80 feet and spinning around 1.5 + times? just because he doesnt land backseat and flop around like hes asleep doesnt mean he doesnt have style.

In my opinion, style is about making tricks look good. Bobby's tricks look good to me so I don't see how you could argue he doesn't have style. Sure, he's not doing anything out of the box, but at this point, who is? Sure people have "pioneered" certain things (afterbang, alien tricks, nose taps, etc.) but honestly, when was the last time you saw a pro do something TOTALLY new and revolutionary? I could be wrong but there isn't much that comes to mind.

Alright proven wrong. Didn't realise Downey was 6"4 haha, probably because of how tall he wears his stuff.

His style is to stomp every thing as clean as possible. He doesn't give two shits if NS doesn't like his steeze or not. If he wants to spin to win, Let him.

I think it would be hard to say that 58 seconds in second vid (vimeo) isnt steeze. that being said it's one trick

Its not that Bobby doesn't have style, hes does, however it is robotic. The fact is that he is a douche bag with no personality or charisma, hence his robotic style. To contrast him with Casabon, you see grimmie smooth skiing and attitude to match from b-dog, whereas robotic structured skiing that reflects bobbys personallity.

To some bobby may have the illest style, but in my opinion it is far from it.

If anyone disagrees with my above comment wait a week or two and check the next B & E show, there will be steeze between da kneez with extra shredded cheeze... bitch pleaze

E-dollo and B-dog da gillest

dear god man listen to yourself. by your rationale, bobby is a douchebag because he doesn't mistakenly believe himself to be a gangster? you embarrass yourself my man. laughable.

worst statement so far. ignoring the style part, Bobby Brown seems like honestly one of the nicest and most down to earth pros out there! Check your definition of personality and charisma.

More Ski Videos

I watched this edit a few months ago, it just shows he is a busy ass guy who loves to ski. When you get right down to it, he is an extremely gifted skier who has focused his talents towards contest skiing. More power to him, he is making a living doing what he loves, and will hopefully be able to continue doing that for years to come.
I guess at this point you gotta let the haters hate, the gapers gape, and the idiots like DISKHNT continue to be idiots.
That is all

What about TJ freaking Schiller? Regardless though, Bobby Brown is incredible. I admit, maybe he's not as fun to watch (because everything is so clean is tough to relate to? and things aren't laid/tweaked right out too often) but to say he doesn't have STYLE is harsh. His style is just clean and consistent as hell.

thats all u had to say. not once did someone explain it like you did. Now i get it. thanks

i like it, not sure why a lot of people dont.

Pointless argument is pointless. Style is in the eye of the beholder.
That being said, I do not enjoy watching Bobby Brown ski, at all.

Also, I know I am going to get shat on for this but it seems NS is brainwashed by B-dog and similar skiers like him and their styles that they think that should be the only true style.

I agree with you 100%. I like watching bobby ski because he does not ski with his jacket fucking open. I swear to god someone somewhere was just like, Ima open my jacket and get all of these kids to follow my trend, so they all look like fucking idiots

I can't believe some of the things I have read in here. This thread proves that some kids on this site are borderline retarded, they have no idea what they are talking about.

STOP ignoring the fact that style isn't a yes or no kind of thing, people have different kinds of style and Bobby Brown has it, it is just different.

How can people still be arguing about this???

Style is 100% preference, just like foods. You cant tell someone "You dont like apples? FUCK YOU MOTHER FUCKER, pears FTW!!!11!!1" its just as retarted.

It isn't true. You have one faction of NS kids.....and I do mean kids....who put 2-3 skiers on an unreachable pedestal, and those kids....because they're kids....post incessantly.
Plenty of skiers get love for style constantly. Off-hand, I can think of a dozen or so skiers outside of the B&E wheel house who NS drools over. Frankly, I see as many Max Hill threads nowadays as I do B&E threads.
It's troubling to me how "down" on NS a lot of the strongest posters seem to be right now. There's tons of cool shit in the world of skiing popping off right now, I don't know that condemning NS is really all that necessary. It's just so damn easy to ignore the idiocy, why let it define your NSing? The autoplaying music/vid issue is something different all together, though haha.
But....Casabon DESERVES to be acknowledged as a style innovator. I'm not talking about his fucking clothes...CLOTHES =/= STYLE. Brainwashing implies that people have been tricked or manipulated into believing something that isn't actually true....I'm not brainwashed, Phil just happens to be one of the illest doing it right now. That doesn't mean I ride with an open jacket and have a Wu or Red icon though, but many do and will continue to do so...and you know what? They're kids and there's nothing wrong with it.
When I was 10, I mimicked Ken Griffey Jr.'s swing and follow through, I wore the same batting gloves, and I wiggled my bat. Nothing new in the world, and people need to stop taking trends, pro-worship, etc. personally.

I do agree with you. It just seems that most people on here seem to expect comp skiers like bobby to have a style similar to Phils it seems which is fine I guess. But Its kind of annoying when threads like this pop up and kids just thrash on him about how he doesn't have style. He does. They are just to ignorant or blind to see it.

That I do agree with....and anyone whose criticism of Bobby goes anything like: He doesn't ridez like B-Dog is a moron.

anyone who doesn't see style in that video doesn't know skiing as well as they think they do
look at 1:24, out of a flip out of a fairly small rail, he manages to land, swaggered to the side, shoulder cocked back, and completely stable. Bobby isn't my favourite skier, but it's pretty clear that his style defines "textbook" for skiing park

that's the problem. nobody cares about mutes nowadays. the grab itself is great but please almost every dub cork has a mute....

Funny how all the haters all of a sudden just shut up. Mute grabs are never going to get old. They are one of the funnest grabs on skis you can do and there is a reason people do them with dubs. Its because they help the rotation. Go ahead, try a tail grab and do a dub, tell me how that works out.

I don't really see what the issue is here? I like how Bobby Brown is regarded as more 'tech' in comparison to a 'style' guy like Phil Casabon. It's like every other action sport like skating for example - why do skiers have to have both?

I think its great that skiing has people like BB pushing the limits on big spins and big tricks and other skiers who focus on the feel and style of what their doing.

The ability to express yourself through the sport is why I love it why should it be any different for the pros?

If you read it properly you'd have noticed I said 'regarded' and 'seen', which implies that these skiers have characteristic for which they are well known for amongst the skiing community. I did not insinuate that Phil Casabon wasn't tech nor that BB didn't have his own style, but merely noted that these skiers have a persona for which they should not have to compromise on because others don't appreciate the contribution they make to the sport.

In other news - add to the discussion next time, don't just be a dick.
