Flatland Grabs

In skiing, you only ever see grabs done in the air. But who says so?
I reckon grabs should be done on flatland aswell. It's easy to do a mute or Japan or something when you're skiing down a run or something.
Like, for the mute, you ski on one ski, and you lift your opposite ski up, and grab it while you go along. Same thing for other grabs. So basically, you can be doing tricks as soon as you get off the lift, all the way to the bottom.
I hope flatland grabs will blow up BIG TIME next season.
What do you think?

I wouldn't mind hearing the opinion of a few pros if there's any here. I'm sure it would score them a few more point in comps.

yeah!!!!!! and i invented them!!!!!! Brilliant. Just mention me in your edits, and we won't worry about copyright/ intellectual property issues.

early grabs could be cool if you can do them style-y, it's kinda like hand drag threes or something, but ou could do an early mute three?

oh shit... early grabs would look sick! Starting to grab your ski before you pass the lip would mean taking off one footed. Sound easy enough but i bet its hard.

I wonder if anybody else has thought of this? That would be sick if it was started next season because of this thread. Sweet.. but that idea of grabbing while you are going down the hill is kind of retarded.

I keep fucking thinking you me that's the 3rd time today I thought I posted in a thread that's not mine stop it.

Well, if needs be, we can let the courts decide who 'invented' them. But since its MY name at the top of this thread, i'm pretty sure they'll rule in MY favour.

I

hope you know I'm joking. I'm not really going to go to court over who

'owns' at trick haha. Even if i invented a brand new, amazing trick, i

would want everyone to do it.

that's cute

His noseblocks are what I thought about when I saw the title, tail grabs like that whilst nosepress spinning could be cool too.

here you go.

Haha that would be strange... what happens if you wanna do like a double safety or an Octo or something though.
I mean do what works for you but personally I think it'd look a little strange.
it might be cool to see some kindof grabish thing on rails though.

even if you did want to go to court they would just laugh.you cant "own" and action or verb if you wanna call it that.you can be credited with it by it being named after you but if everyone thinks your a tool they will make up there own name and you couldnt do shit about ithaha serriously though. just to help you out... how old ARE you?

just no, my friend and i saw this kid in front of us one time doing a mute like you described and we just could not stop laughing about how dumb he looked.no offense but this is a horrible idea

actually, i could see this working. no less than a revert before a rail does right now. think about how stupid a revert before you hit a handrail sounds on paper, but then when people do them they are much more legit. if done right, not sure exactly what im visualizing, im sure they could catch on. people called 50-50's gay for the longest time, and now that some of the more popular ams are starting to do them, i wouldn't be too surprised if you started seeing people work them into their game next season. same thing could easily happen with just about anything new, as long as whoever does them makes them appealing/stylish etc.

lol this thread is pretty funny. but cut the kid some slack. having no snow makes us say crazy things sometimes. i can understand.

I actually thought that it looked dope. Muuuuuch respect. Must be difficult to pop and stay centered like that.
Lay back hand drag cork threes with early blunts would be so tasty. As in...slightly carve into the lip, layback— slightly onto my right hip, dragging my right hand back behind me, and grabbing blunt (or even safety/tindy) with my left hand just before hitting the lip, then, cork threeing while grabbing uncrossed trailing blunt to stomp. Booyah. Also, the idea of doing butters with blunts and true noses could be cool.
I'd like to see someone do a zero spin while grabbing opposite true nose just before pop, then throughout the trick.
You know....this is the kind of thing that could go horribly wrong and/or look like shit, but you know what? Thank god. Let's explore possibilities and try and be as creative as possible!! There's plenty of cool shit yet to be done on skis!
More flipping, spinning, and switching up, isn't necessarily the answer...

with the right grabs it could look pretty sick but you would have to be pretty careful like the flatland mute.... no but ya the tip grab props on that

What would be really cool => more grabs onto rails/boxes, grabs while on the rail/box and grabs off the rai/boxl...
