It says removable brake... don't know how that could work on that binding. I'd rather save $300 and buy an old pair, then bend 'em.

Yep. The good news is the new base plate with the removable brake is supposed to be backwards compatible with the new system so you can buy some old FKS binders, spend $40 on new baseplates and not have to bend.

I got a friend who last week just got some old fks's, plus some old volants for $70 from a gaper. not a high din on them either

439 is a ton, but these are not disposeable bindings, you can spend 250 on a pair of bindings every other year, you would have these for 600 ski days. they you could probably sell them for 150 still 600 days old so they end up being like 200 bucks

This is solid news. Finally they bring those back. I still have my old ones and never letting go of em!

You should just buy old FKSBought mine some FKS 155 for 75$ from an ex racer. But if you have the money, the new base plate seems better than having to bend your brakes..

wooo! thats annoying cause i just ordered a brand new set of brakes and had to bend them to 115 and now they have a brake that wouldve fit. but stoked to see these coming back

You do realise there going to be a super limited quantities and the majority will probably go to team and industry folk. Bending old ones isn't a huge deal. Plus look at the price difference.

i have a uber pile of FKS brakes laying around. will the actual brake arms be the same? (maybe its in the thread and i missed it, sorry) i understand it will be possible to swap them out easier, but will the actual arms be the same.

to those saying bending is super hard, its really not that bad, vice-grips, other pliers, vice, pipe, and torch youre set. sure it took some time, but that was only my first pair, now that i know waht im doing not that hard.

ima get some orange ones, they ship on november 15th, retail is like 440 but im getting them quite a bit cheaper because im basically the man

there's a proform order thats dropping in december but another order that's slightly more expensive that's dropping in early november

Wrong!

Here in the Pacific Northwest Sports Creel, Wintersport, Arlberg Sports (other shops being added daily) will have them in stock!

coup

1) Yes brake arms are the same.

2) You can swap them out, but you will have to buy the whole set of bindings to do it!

Baseplates/brakes will not be available.

yeah bending is no problem, don't even need heat unless the brakes are super old and brittle
i've done well under 10 mins start to finish from taking apart the bindings, bending the brakes, and putting the bindings back together, it just takes practice but is in fact very easy
