Fishing bragging rights

Get banned or something??? Didn't you already post this pic as miraglia?

Anywho in other news, I caught a small shark while down in delaware a few weeks ago. Although not a real catch as when the thing flopped out of the last wave the line snapped and she just turned around and swam back into the waves. It was about 2 and a half feet and as thick as my thigh. You know it's good when your throwing horseshoes drinking beer and you see your surf rod bend in half, I ran like my ass was on fire.

I can't believe nobody else has posted a picture of a catfish yet! That's a pretty averaged sized cat for the lake i fish in.

^What were you using, I have no saltwater fishing experience and theres ample spots here in CT to fish. Im guessing some sort of live bait?

we were using cut up mackerel at first and only caught a couple, but once we caught live ones that were smaller we used those and caught a shit ton.

FIsh i caught when i was 11 (yea i looked like a looser) it was a 43" stripped bass that weighed 35+ lbs? Can't really remember but my dad was struggling to keep holding that up. Shit that fish was almost bigger than I was! (bigger than my 6 year old brother at the time)

I know trout season has started in NY and probably around the country. Any fish to show off this year yet?

I know I cant wait to get back to America because the bass will be ripe in MS

I usually fish at a lake, but i was swimming in the ocean that year with my cousin, maybe 20-30 yards offshore, and a bluefish tried to bite him, so he grabbed my brothers boogie board and whacked it. it got like stunned and stopped moving so he grabbed it and brought it in. i never knew it was abnormal until that post.

yeah im pysched, probably gunna do some trout fishing next sunday if its nice out. I went up to this lake in a mountain by my house last sunday, caught 3 nice pickeral, a couple decent sized bass, and some monster crappie

Obviously the military is majority midwest and southern people, NO ONE fucking knows what pickeral is. It's an ugly ass fish is what it is.

vicious blueFISH attacks? no, that's nothing unusual. they're here every summer in vast numbers that demolish bait. or human limbs. I'm much more afraid of these chompers when I'm surfing than I am of sharks. they have such reckless feeding abandon.blueFIN on the other hand, are very rarely within sight of land, except this one summer when I heard multiple accounts. you have nothing to fear about being bitten by one of these. see picture of the biggest fish in this thread for reference to their size

Caught this bad boy on a catfishing rig with a nightcrawler. I had something close to a 10lb cat on earlier that night before i caught this but I didnt set the hook right and he got away as we were getting the net out.

pickerel have a chain pattern on them (at least in my lake) and pike have the spotted pattern on them. Thats how i know they are pike

haha i was there like three days ago longboarding.

my biggest fish ever is a 42" pike caught in lake misu(sp?) in northern canada on a fishing trip.

Seriously you shouldn't have made this thread, I deep sea fish every blue fin season. My record can't be beat on the boat.

pretty sure they're not, i was with a guy whos been fishing his whole life who is now 73 years old and has acquired much knowledge over the years, i also caught that in " pickerel pond" not saying the name means so much but, yeah...

my manager caught an 8 foot swordfish on his honeymoon. it was a record for that area i guess.
nothing i've caught is anything to talk about haha

Just caught my first small mouth the other day. It was probably about 12 inches, couple pounds. Nice fish. Caught it on a silver/orange jighead with a soft plastic dark green worm. I have caught some yellow perch a few years back just using a little shiner/ snapper lure.

Caught these fuckers and about 20 more we had to throw back in mid march of this year right when the ice came out. Cats were biting like crazy.

If you live in mass/ new hampshire you can always catch a bunch of stripers and blue fish at the mouth of the Merrimack River. Great if you have boat, but at times it can get pretty choppy and if you dont have a boat you can walk to the end of a pier thing of rocks. I havnt been there in years because my dad sold his boat, but it was a good time.

Big ass gar from lake norman north carolina a couple summers ago. It snapped my rod as soon as it took the hook and I was really lucky to pull it in because it wasn't hooked in its mouth, but the hook and line somehow lasso-ed around the fins and shit so it was hard for it to break the line.
