Fired Today and need advice

I had the best and easiest job ever. I got a DUI a few months back after only drinking 4 beers(thats Oklahoma for you) and when they found out at work they fired me because I drive a company vehicle like once a fucking month and they couldn't keep me on their insurance. fortunately I saw this coming so I have a few offers on the table for some other jobs.

Here is the deal, Since I have some time and I have some money saved up, I was thinking about going on a two week long road trip and hitting the best ski resorts in the US before I have to get my interlock device installed and get back to work. Where would you guys suggest I go? I'm also considering moving out of this horrible state for good. There is not a single chick in this state that is not a cheating, lying, shady whore.

Where should I go guys? (I've been to all of the ski areas in Summit County CO and New Mexico)

that money you have saved up is going toward your DUI probably-- they aren't cheap from what I've heard.

Man DUIs are scary business. The dude who invents the 'instantly sober' pill will be a billionaire.

dude. relax. if things piss you off so much that you always have to post something extraneous to the thread in a bitter post, just don't post...? no one asked you to feel sorry for him. i dont really see what you think youre achieving here

This.

Driving while intoxicated isn't a fucking joke. And four beers isn't 'nothing'. You should've lost your license.

You should be in prison being pilaged in the anus by people bigger than you. Driving drunk is for people that are bitch made and like to touch young boys. Fuckin idiot.

I'm glad you got caught and got a DUI. I'm glad you got fired. I'm also glad you didn't kill or injure someone while driving drunk/buzzed/whatever you want to call it. LEARN FROM THIS MORON NS. You drink, you drive, you SUCK.

the difference is mine is a good-natured, bad joke. yours read like something a junior high kid would say because talking tough gives him a hard on

You guys that are judging me are pathetic. I've been working for the last two years helpiing find homeless people jobs at one of the biggest shelters in the US so i think i've been a pretty stand up citizen. I wasn't driving drunk, I had 4 beers in two hours at my highschool reunion and was driving 2 blocks to my apartment and got pulled over pulling in to the complex. I passed the field sobriety test and I suggested to just blow so i could get it over with and somehow blew barely over the legal limit twice. I was merely asking for suggestions on where to go ski so I could take my mind off some of this shit that has happened. It breaks my heart to not be able to work there anymore.

"I had the best and easiest job ever." First you say that, then you tell us that we should respect you for your ex-job??? Now you're denying that you were driving drunk, when you clearly were? So, to put this together, you are:

Lying

In denial

Defensive

If we put that together, look at what we get - an ALCHOHOLIC.

It's illegal because the government doesn't want people to drink and drive it's also banned a bunch of other countries. It does something with the toxins not being absorbed into your cells/blood therefore doesn't make you drunk. And again you can't go to your drug dealer and buy it, So good luck trying to find it.

I should have explained the situation first, my bad. The DUI business especially in this state is a racket and is gonna cost me abot 1500 dollars over the next 6 months and not to metion the job that I loved. I was hoping for a little support from you guys but oh well, and thanks Rubber_soul. I was thiking about heading up to Jackson Hole and the Lake Tahoe from there.

Shit happens man dont do it again and i wont judge you. I have my class a license which i use for work and in the great state of ny a dwi for me is now .04 how much does that suck? A lot thats 2 beers for me.

I say take a trip to cali and ride some nice sunny snow?

I def regret it obviously and am paying for it dearly. I've never driven drunk in my 14 years of having a license. Def not asking for any sympathy and am owning up to my mistake and taking it as a learning experience.

This.

If you had a fuck-up who worked under you (go into your bosses' position) would you want to have a surprise DUI pop up? No. Tell your employer next time. And don't fucking drive drunk. I'll find you.

It's a "racket," huh? Just don't drink and drive - that'll sure show 'em! No, I will not give you any "support" for drinking and driving. Doing so makes you a bad person, plain and simple. Feel free to do hard drugs in the comfort of your own home, drop 80 ft cliffs into pow, or backflip off a moving vehicle. These things put you personally at risk. Drinking and driving puts me at risk, my friends at risk, and everyone else at risk. $1,500 seems way too cheap, and clearly is, because you don't seem the least bit remorseful.

1500 is nothing for a DUI, i bet it's going to end up costing you more than that. a friend of mine got one and it cost him $5,000+ when all was said and done.

also, you thought you were going to get sympathy for a DUI? DUI's are embarrassing man, if you just hadn't mentioned it in the first place you would have gotten help from people.

both of those places are unfuckingreal, can't really go wrong with those as far as im concerned. if you have a good opportunity i'd hit it up

and now you know, next time don't bait the NS moral police with anything that will start their circlejerk, but whatever, let them get their kicks

Agreed. I should have just said " I have a couple of weeks to go drive across the country and ski, where should I go?" once again, I'm not looking for any sympathy and I AM very remoursfull and will never do it again. I literally just got canned a couple of hours ago so I put it all out there because I haven't talked to anyone about it. Definately can't blame you guys for the negative comments because drinking and driving is obviously a serious offense.

Seems it was invented in china. From what i read it doesnt sober you up it just stops you from getting drunk in the first place which is pointless to me i drink to have a good time

My Lawyer that said he could get me off didn't actually do anything except take the DAs deal and have me sign all the papers and plead guilty so I didn't charge me.

yeah when a DUI is mentioned people kind of forget that the legal limit is set so that people can have a couple drinks and drive home after, otherwise there would just be a no tolerance law. obviously 4 is really pushing it and drinking and driving should be avoided altogether if possible, but i can see how a momentary dumb decision would result in somebody barely blowing over the limit and getting a DUI. I can sympathize with that a little more than somebody who blows like a .2. but that's why I just wouldn't bring it up. Even if you barely blew over the limit, people are going to pounce once they hear you got a DUI.

In no way do I condone drunk driving, but your a little bitch.

People make mistakes...preaching to the choir is a pitiful attempt at trying to get your point across. When you hit 21 or probably even 18 in your case...you'll probably do the same damn thing and think nothing of it.

Hey buddy, kindly go fuck yourself.

Just because your old enough to drink doesn't mean you get to go out and do stupid shit. My cousin got killed by a drunk driver when he was 25. In his fucking prime.

Yeah it was def a dumb moment but I'm trying to stay positive and take it as a learning experience and now realize that even after just a few beers to NEVER drive.

hahaha i find it pretty hard to believe nobody in this thread has driven after 4 fucking beers. I'm sure you all get high and drive. or text and drive. NS has turned into a bunch of pussies. Im not condoning drinking and driving, but come on, 4 beers?
