Festi tip

Unless you're way to fucked up to be alone (which can totally happen) don't only do what your friends are doing. Sure it's greta to rage with your friends but if there's a band you want to see, go see them.

If they really really don't want to go chances are it's better. I'd rather go alone at that point than have a black cloud hovering around the whole time not having fun, complaining, wanting to go somewhere else but not leaving on their own.

Don't be afraid to rage a set alone. I'm sure there will be a shit ton of friendly people there. Hell even just go and catch a couple songs and then meet your friends back at another spot after.

Lettuce is fucking sick live. Same with soulive.

If you can't get down to that shit I feel bad for you. You really need beer in a can if you want to drink in one of those sets. One of the times I saw them at waka I dance from once side of the fest and back and forth through their set.

Word. I'm not a big modest mouse fan myself, but i like a couple of their songs. We're all gonna be there for the same bands and this is all our first festival so were probably just gonna check everything out while we're there.

Well, excuse me! If ya wanna study my wording more you'd also see that was my first edm show... I just had a lot of fun regardless if the Bassnectar's were there ;)

I can't find tickets anywhere for mad decent block party anywhere in nyc for 8/8, or 8/9 i don't remember what the date is.

is modest mouse and flaming lips end up playing at the sme time on different stages i will probably end up crying myself to sleep that night. those two bands are so much fun to see live and are the primary reason i got tickets to this festival

I've been waiting to see Modest Mouse for years now! They came to NY last month, but I was at Mysteryland. No way they will play at the same time as the flaming lips.. I'm just hoping Modest comes on after 8 because I get out of work at 5 friday and it is about an hour drive. Plus, once you enter the festival you cannot leave. So I have to bring my shit to my campsite before heading to the show..

I've seen so much more music alone than with friend. Actually probably why I have so many of the friends I have now. Nobody ever wanted to go see music with me when I was younger. Started to say fuck it and just drive to shows alone.

Ended up doing a bunch of festivals solo as well and just worked in with different crews. A bunch of people that I tour are the strangers from this show or that fest.

Friend make life a lot better, but I feel like a lot of people don't like to leave old friends and make new ones.

Somebody's gotta whore up the friendzone.

Yeah, Mysteryland was like that too. Once you enter the grounds for camping you can't leave. You gotta carry all your shit it one trip. We got a great wheel barrow and grandpa baskets.

lol, that's the lamest/ dumbest thing ever. Generally that's why I avoid non camping festivals for not wanting to be stuck in a venue unable to leave all day. Really lame that they did that at a camping festival.

Did anyone that went to bonnaroo make it to the skrillex super jam???? Pre- roo I wouldn't have guessed this would be the case, but that was easily the coolest set of the weekend. Just to name a few songs..

-Craig robinson (darnel of the office) playing they keys and singing Use Me

-Warpaint bustin out Pump up the jam

-Lauren hill with jammin

-Asap ferg w/ juicy ... then rapping his own lyrics in with the rhyme scheme of the song for the 2nd/ 3rd parts of the song

-Robbie Krieger (of the doors)/ cage the elephant's break on through

holy shit it was sick

Not even a little camp stove?

Yeah.. Mysteryland was the same way. THP saying they're going to have grills watched over by staff that a for the community. Mysteryland just had 0 grilling and food lines were over an hour during peak times and I spent so much more money than normal. Also, ate a lot of clif bars and snacks.

Seems like a good bit of stuff. Security will be different everywhere, but if you get there right when the gates open it is never that crazy. Too many people for them to check at once to be able to check everyone properly. My friend folds all of his goodies up in smell proof bags inside a pocket in his tent, and has never had any problems what so ever.

Always different but the last festival I went to the security was crazier on the beginning and got so relaxed as the day went on. Either way I wouldn't be paranoid keeping it in a tent bag or somewhere similar like in your chair bag.

Anyone?

My friends and I are going to be heading down. Very confused about accommodations though. I'm assuming it's the kind of thing where you have to leave at night and stay at a hotel. Any NSers done something like this?

Could they have made that lineup anymore annoying to read?

Pretty sure there's no camping. Pitchfork, lolla all those kinds of festivals are hotel only. I generally avoid those at all cost but if you dig the lineup and it's not to far go for it.

Getting a close hotel will probably be hard because they've probably sold out of a lot of stuff. That said in a big city there's plenty of places to stay.

I'm also going to guess that it's a fest where you can only go in once per day and once you leave you're out, no reentry.

So probably eat some food before you go in and whatever cause it'll be a long day.

I'm sure they have everything on the website or in different guides though. Like I said I only do camping fests but I'm pretty sure that the above is how it all works.

If anyone wants to rage Canada. Some of my friends are putting on this fest. 4 of my friends bands are playing maybe some more will jump in before. It's gonna be a good time.

Now I'm not sure where you read the no re-entry rule for THP, but I just read on the site that there are shuttles to and from the lots and you are allowed to leave. Says it right on the site.

For people who are not camping perhaps

That's pretty standard for day passes. It's sort of like a show or a day festival at a venue. A lot of festivals have a separate entrance for day passes and camping into their main venue. Then people can't go in for the day and get into camping without having paid or go in and rob shit. Also they can clear the center venue after the last show so you can't get a day pass on thursday and stay til sunday.

I wont, but i am tempted to bring my skis and go glacier skiing at whistler during the day haha

Hudson Project people, have you bought your parking pass yet? Came out to 64 bucks. Holy fuck. I'll be arriving by myself Friday morning and Louie won't be there till 6ish so if anyone wants a Friday ns meet up, let me know!

either on / off site you can access your car.

if you get off site your car can go in/out

plus you can come and go from the festival to go see the town etc
