Fav Aspect Of Skiing

Pretending I’m a race car driver on the road from the highway to the ski hill.

The highway to Big Sky from Bozeman is very windy while still being fast. It's perfect for getting a flow going, catching the apex of all the turns, pretending you're ricky bobby. I've seen other cars do it in front of me as well

My new favourite thing to do when skiing is go up the lift with strangers and say “Hey Siri, play Thrift Shopping by Macklemore.” They never say anything, just awkward silence but I can feel their vibes. In their head they’re thinking “is this dude fr rn??”

No, im not, im actually listening to Katy Perry. But it got me thinking. What is ur fav aspect of skiing that doesnt involve riding.

Next time, play this and show them the video. Everyone will laugh hard!

My favorite aspect of skiing is skiing and all the love I give and receive.

When the chairlift stops and it’s super quiet and you can hear the snow falling. Also getting lost and not checking the trail map.

When you’re skiing on the east coast and it’s like 0 with a -20 degree windchill and icy as shit, but you just kinda lean into the wind with a ton of layers on and you’re like “fuck yeah”

Or put out the sails when it's at your back!

I ski alone :( I want ski friends

Hit up locals you know on insta or talk to people a lot from the singles line. Ask to ski a lap or two with people and you might vibe and become friends who can go more

Thanks for the advice I’ll step out of my comfort zone and try that :)

1) the force you get when doing tricks, landing a trick in a carved position, carving off jumps, anything to do with that “force”

2) stomping tricks

3) chatting with people

4) rocking a dope fit/style

5) doing new/tricks and/or dialling old ones to make them steez nice

least favourite things:

getting up early

being sore

not eating cuz your addicted to skiing

Going up with people who don’t shred (big no no)

There's way too much but top 3:

1. Doin shit with the homies in a competitive, insane manner out in nature. How can you beat spending time with the people you view as family in gorgeous settings doing amazing things?

2. Having something to put all your energy and thought into that gives back. When you put serious effort into skiing, it gives back in experiences and skill. A healthy outlet for all that energy and need for purpose. Wayyyy better rate of return than my day job honestly and I even kinda like my job.

3. Kinda hard to explain, but in day to day life I feel like I am always holding back for some reason or another. Being able to charge 30 mph+, jump cliffs, send flips and spins etc and just not hold back and let all that energy run wild is such an amazing feeling. Its cathartic. I crave that after ski feeling of contentment and soreness that can only be achieved after a day spent to the fullest.
