ever seen skating or skiing or boarding videos, and the film looks really old, and sometimes kind of exposed in the corners? how do they do that?

its probably just a sepia effect, that gives black and white film an old effect. Hell some of it is probably shot in 8mm, which looks old and I think is probably the coolest looking video possible.

you send it off, i thinks its about 80$+ an hour with a 1 hour minimum. people nowadays seem to not know thew difference between video and film. film is 8mm, super8mm, 16mm, 35mm, imax and so on. it is accual film that takes 24 pictures a second and you have to get it developed and have to view it on a projector. video is hi8, digital8, mindv, vhs and so on. Video records onto magnetic media and doesnt need to be preocesed or anything before you can watch it.

anyone else one here have any film cameras? i have a 8mm camera, and 3 super8mm cameras. the difference between 8 and super8 is that 8 is accually 16mm film where you expose half the film, then flip the film around and expose the other side so there are 2 8mm wide strips side by side on the 16mm film. super8 is just 8mm wide film, and comes packeged in plastic containers makin it much easier to load and shoot.

about the transferring thing, you can get little film-to-video transferring things real cheap. they are like little plastiv TV's sorta, you project the film in one side, and it shows up on the little screen, you just video tape it off of that. it actually works perfect, and it's cheap.

Word up to all the subie owners out there!

when you transfer the video to the computer just pull the plug in and out rapidly...that'll do the trick.
