Everyone leaving 9thward?

perhaps, but i dont think 9 make any powder skis.

Conclusion, he just needed pow skis, and rented / lent from tanner.

this is false. I have beat the shit out of my LT's for the past 2 seasons and they are still holding strong.

But I will say that I heard that their durability was not so hot like 5 years ago.

i'm speaking from what i have seen their own team riders do to their skis with new skis from the past two years.

it goes like this...

they get the skis,

first day the edges crack up badly

within the second week edges are missing

shortly after the sidewall blows out

ski snaps

ninthward promises new skis

skis never come

not many skis hold up when you get them stuck in the metal bars underneath a box.. if we are talking about noah.

its under maintenance, i mailed some guy working there. have to fix the "team" page cause of people leaving etc. you just wait :)

well there is a post on henriks wall from one of the ski designers at armada tell him to check his inbox because there is an URGENT email he needs to get haha

9th is actually a pretty cool brand. If you look at all of the other small core ski brands, 9th has done an amazing job of differentiating themselves and establishing an original brand culture. Many of the other small ski companies haven't even come close to doing this. 9th is gangster. They are the thug ski brand. They give athletes guns. People don't ski for that company because they are looking for a pay check, they like what the brand is about and they want to be skinny, gangster white kids.

Can they afford to carry a team of some of the top athletes in the world? No. My guess is the company's net income is barely enough to pay the owners/managers a decent salary. If they could afford to match the pay checks that the big corporations pay out then they would. I think some of you guys need to give them some more credit. Being an entrepreneur isn't easy. And the comment about where they got their money from? Really? Who gives a shit - I have no idea how they are funded, but I have met a couple people personally invested in 9th and they ain't no grandma.

/end of rant. Please carry on with your thread.

I'd like to take back my first post. I've come to the realization that 9th is a pretty sweet brand. They are somewhat small time and that alone is pretty cool. Much love to all small ski companies. But 9th might want to re think the presentation of their brand. Other then that 9th is a hella cool brand.

I have always wanted Ninthwards, no matter how many people rag on the quality or the owners or whatever it is they think is wrong I will always want Ninthwards.

fuck ya i go to school whith joey, he alomost hit me with his car sounds like a proper representation of 9thward

I believe they eventually just told him that they never shipped them because they didnt have the money to. So they just kept putting up videos of him riding k2 skis or old ass troublemakers.

nah, Noah just got fucked by that box.

Mike's skis just fell apart though. never really seen anything like it but i think they were the year before moving to elan, so that might have been the issue.

But correct me if i'm wrong. Aren't they moving production to canada away from elan and starting to release shit in waves with some sort of new tech and some crazy new ideas like removable edges and shit?

I'd be stoked to see them make a comeback.

First of all this is my new favorite edit. Second of all are they really this bad, because I kind of wanted a pair before.

ninthward baby

my friend is convincing me to get nines he loves them he got pow and park skis. i would want to be on ninthward i really like that team

Ninthward always seemed to have such a backwards marketing strategy. No webisode, no team edits, etc, and often their website was either down, really outdated, or looked like it had been designed from a Myspace HTML template.

Online marketing and brand image is everything nowadays, especially when the majority of kids use the internet to choose their next ski, and when there are so many great brands out there.

Its a shame, because their skis were always really unique, with the disproportioned nose and tail widths. You could always tell a 9 ski from afar. Shame really, with a little bit of tweaking, it could have been a real contender.

It's kind of a weird image to market yourself as. Very limited amount of people that buy into that image.
