Enough With The Tall Tees

i dont really agree with this at all. as a matter of fact, it seems like a fairly ignorant and flat out stupid thing to say. Now, more than ever before in the past, skiers have been segmenting off into their own diverse groups. this is what we need, to be a bit more like skateboarding. you dont see street skaters trying to shred vert or vert skaters trying to shred park.
Are you trying to tell me that Hornbeck, Wesson, Parry, Tom, Wiley and Bobby all are striving for the same goals, style and tricks? Were starting to get a split between comp skiers, film skiers, urban skiers, pipe skiers, pow skiers, etc.... which is what I think we need if the sport is going to grow.
This whole tall tee debate is dumb. someone is always going to have a problem with the new "trend" and there is always going to be a clash of styles. again, this is something we have to accept (like skateboarding) and instead of trying to fight it, just diversify and do what you want to do to have fun.

nailed it on the head.

As I said earlier... "enough with the self righteous posts about other peoples clothing...

You aren't saying anything anyone hasn't already said, don't flatter yourself."

Let people do whatever the fuck they want and worry about yourself.

.................fuck off

you can't just tell us to move on from a style and give us no style to move onto!!!

we'll move on when there is a new style to even move too!

Says the kid wearing a bandana across his face in his pro pic.... and no, its not good at protecting from the sun, wind and snow. Its a square piece of cotton that soaks up water, freezes, makes your gogs fog and makes you look like a douche.

Maybe you should concentrate on your skiing and having fun, instead of worrying about what other kids are wearing.

I thought it was a free country to express your self, in what ever fashion manner you want?

obamam-lol-y-u-mad-tho.jpg

why dont YOU just wear your own shit, and everyone else can do whateva da fuck they want. if you feel that originality is important for you then you should be happy that alot of skiers are dressing the same as it makes it easy for you to stand out..

You have it completely backwards.

RAPPERS NEED TO STOP DRESSING LIKE SKIERS.

And on another note I have never seen a skier that looks even close to a rapper. Sure they might have the same amount of Xs on their tags, but they do look similar at all in my opinion.

I'm confortable with my tall tees...

no dissrespect but,

if ur not happy anymore with that trend .why dont u buy something else... like an edhardy coat? i dont know lol...

what i'm saying is that i'm happy with those baggy clothes ..it's all a matter of tastes:)

oh and btw sorry for my english!

i don't see why you care we all love the sport (i hope) just let people do what they like of course this post won't matter in the grand scheme of skiing people will still bitch and moan about on thing or an other any way to sum it all up you're a filthy cunt

People can wear what ever they want, and be influenced by who ever they want. Now that that's out of the way:

wow, thanks for the input! due to the well-presented and totally new and unheard of point you just brought up, i burned my entire collections of tall-t's (along with a porn collection and a gay person) and went out and bought a 3-piece Armani suit. now, when i throw down in the park i will be representing skiing in a positive, formal manner; making myself very appealing and marketable to those interested. also, the restricting fit of the suit and vest really allow me to tweak grabs and ride with style.

see you on the slopes guys!

What the hell does his overinflated karma have to do with this? he has like 200 pictures, its no wonder his karma is so big.

you know how there are old dude rippers with neon and long straight skis.

Do you think someday our generation will be those old dudes, but rocking tall tees and twin tips?

haha, food for thought

how about i wear what i want, you shut up and don't care about what i wear, and stop caring about Fuel TV because skiing isn't about getting on TV, skiing is about having the time of your life, and being with your good friends, and learning new stuff.

SO SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!

soo you're gonna promote max hills (steezy) tight look and say fuck big and tall.. that's cool.

there's soo many different styles to skiing that you gotta just let them all thrive to promote the sport to higher levels.

no. sarcasm doesn't work well online.
Freedom of style. Let people do what they want, and wear what they want while they do it...stop hatin', its all good. its all shredding.

first of all. it does have to do with skill and style. i do think that our skiing is put towards style and self development as your own. thats what makes our sport so different than others. but i do think that there is something to say about what could happen if we werent wearing tall tees and shit like that. Also I will go to add that I do wear big stuff on the mountain and off. But thats just how i like to wear my stuff. I wear it because i feel comfortable in it.

Style.

1- Tall tees definately reflect on ones style and self expression as a person and how you want to be looked at.

2- Tall tees show that you HAVE your own style and want to stand out.

Skill.

1- I am no scientist. But I think that wearing something that is baggy and all over the place would be less aerodynamic than say, something more fitting.

2- I think that there are times where usefull items do come into contact with safety. I dont know if you saw Simon Dumont on Tom Wallisch's Ally Show Interview, when his bandana came loose and blinded his vision mid-air, which could have resulted in a very serious outcome.

What im trying to get at is that its your choice to wear what YOU WANT. But just think to yourself if you are following a trend. And ask yourself "Is it safe?".

to the op. "skiing is about being different"fuck that its about fun to me... and if i have fun playing dress up while skiing so be it.
