Enough With The Tall Tees

Seriously guys, lets move on... We're starting to look like a bunch of early 90's ravers out there. I don't like getting snow down my pants anymore than the next person but we seriously gotta stop looking like a bunch of wanna be gansters out on the slopes. If our sport is going to keep progressing we need to get a new style that isn't inspired by hip-hop artists of 5 years ago.
I also want to give props to guys like Max Hill and Eric Pollard who have made a niche all for themselves. Skiing is about being an individual and not about looking like a clown. So toss away those dresses we call "tall tees" and put more effort into your style than trying to copy what everyone else is doing!

enough with the self righteous posts about other peoples clothing...

You aren't saying anything anyone hasn't already said, don't flatter yourself.

I was about to be a complete dick until I noticed your Karma.

I personally don't care too much about how I look on the slopes or how others see me, so besides the fact that it makes us look like dipshits, I don't really care.

the fact of the matter is that other people looking like dip shits affects those of us who actually care about the sport, it's future, and how other people (i.e. mainstream media like FuelTV which hardly gives skiing the time of day) think of us.
I know it's been said before, that's because it's true and i'm not the only one that thinks it. I didn't claim to be the first, nor do i hope i am the last to point out this aweful trend in ski fashion.

people care wayy to much about what other people wear, chill out and if you want to do your own thing then do it, stop trying to make other people think how you think

please change your icon. i took the time to make that for me. not so other people could steal it.

Big clothes have just become a part of both skiing and snowboarding...It's not something a dumb ass thread on Newschoolers is going to dress, and you're an idiot for thinking so.

Fuel Tv doesn't show skiing because of tall tees?! FUCK now we definately need to stop wearing them. But really. theres only been 2 shows that have shown skiing, TGR had a show, which of course they're not gonna wear tall tees, and Firsthand had a lady skiier (forget who) and of course the recent tom wallisch, who wore plenty of Tall tees in the show

hilarious. According to the OP, NO, everyone needs to find their own specific niche. No one can look similar to another skier.

I am going to wear even taller stuff because of you... I think max hill gets a lot of inspiration from hip hop and rap... maybe not dressing wise but skiing/attitude wise

I guess I have to throw away all of my tall tees and outerwear and start dressing different. I haven't seen too much early 90's "Grunge" skiing yet. You know acid wash jeans and dirty flannels and jackets made out of weird materials... Oh wait snowboarding has some people branching off into that already... hmm how about powdered wigs and pecoats? Haven't seen those in a while...

But really it's been said enough. People can wear what they want, just a lot of people enjoy the tall look even though some may not.

not everyone is a hypocritical faggot like you, go enjoy skiing and wear whatever you want, get the fuck out of here with your hate

Yea I feel like that is gonna stick around for a while, but to the thread creator I dont think wearing a tall tee is really going to have that much affect on our sports progression seriously. If tall tees aren't for you simply don't wear them but you can't bag on others for dressing how they please.

I, for one, give not a single shit about what FuelTV or its many millions of viewers think about skiing. People caring is what has the potential to fuck skiing up. I ski for the peace of mind it gives me... not for props by some jack-off, for-profit, energy drink pushing entity like Fuel.

Skiing is a mindset & lifestyle, not a target market.

The biggest issue is that skiers are all the same.

And its not only clothing, riding style as well. We all try and do the same tricks in the same particular way, wear the same brands in the same sizes in the same styles, there is nothing unique about it anymore.
To give you an example of an opposite, snowboarding is all about keeping it original and creating your own style with your own set of tricks instead of always emulating the same damn style of riders.

The OP isnt trying to say that we should all move into a specific style of riding, he just thinks we need to switch it up a little and stop looking like a bunch of damn copycats.

Not in the first paragraph. In the first paragraph he is basically calling out 90% of skiers for looking like idiots...

Who gives a shit how we/they dress, that's not what it's about.

OP your a fucking idiot. being an individiual can still consist of wearing tall tees, its whatever YOU want to wear and whatever YOU like.

The truth is that 90% of people choose to wear tall tees because they see other skiers doing it.
So no, in most cases tall tees are not incorporated with being an individual.

we should stop wearing hats caus that makes us gay pussies getting all concerned our ears might get cold. get over it. people wear what people wear. Its not like people see tall tee's involved in skiing and say omg we can not do that!. It really doesnt matter bro.

Yeah shut the fuck up people can wear whatever they want i ride with people who wear HUGE outerwear that can do that i personally like the slimmer style and i wasnt the first to do that i copied other peoples style no one is original unless your making your own shit so quiet down and stop thinking your a genious

see that statement just pissed me off, you have such a big ego that u think u care more about skiing just because u dont wear tall tees, and i guarantee 90% of the members on this including me care probably just as much maybe even alot more about skiing then you do
