Also for everyone talking about the commentators, they always blow they sucked last week during the fa cup as well.

Get ready for the World Cup Final with them. Yikes.

Wish it stayed 2-1 but whatever still a great game. Think that if that early sub had been saved the game could have been slightly different.

As for the announcers. I'll be in Brasil for most of it so I won't have to deal with that fucktard. How many predictions are you going to make as an announcer?

Well Atletico gave it their all in the first 90min, they were completely exhausted already and the decimation was inevitable after the Bale goal.

Must say I was mostly surprised by the ref, he did a pretty good job imo. Maybe a bit heavy on the yellow's but mostly firm and confident in his decisions which from what I've seen were pretty much spot-on. (Didn't watch the whole game intensely though)

I'd say Real had AM on the backfoot after half time until finish really.

Ramos' and Bales goals were beauties. Dunno what the fuck AM's defence were doing for Marcelos goal though??

No soccer till June 12th now. Too bad.

Transfer window speculation commence now:

A few predictions:

Arsenal sign a striker

Cesc returns to the EPL

Yaya stays put

Liverpool sign a few CMs and Agger leaves.

I thought that espn had rights to the wc, wont it be an espn crew rather than a fox crew reporting?

Whoops you are right. For some reason I thought Gus would work with ABC (who always covers the final) but I did a quick google search and was wrong.

Well, considering that both their outside backs were essentially out of commission and they'd played 115 minutes of soccer at that point, I'd say they were doing the best they could.

As well as Simeone has done this season, questions have to be asked as to why he started Costa when it seemed pretty clear when he was subbed off that there was never any intention to keep him on for a while. Had Atletico had another sub when Juanfran went down, Madrid's second goal may very well never have happened, and who knows how the game would have turned out.

And just when I didn't think Ronaldo could be any more of a scumbag on the field, he finds a way to surpass himself. Showing literally no class going down for a soft penalty in the 118th minute then celebrating so exuberantly when your team is already 3-1 up. Once again showing just no class at all being so disrespectful towards Atletico after they had to deal with so many injuries and still played so hard.

He got clipped. If you saw the million replays it was clear he got clipped, sure it was a bit soft, but would you actually expect a one to turn down a chance to get a goal? He got the chance to score in the biggest game of the season so he did. He was in no manner trying to rub it in. He was excited he scored and that they won the CL. Can't really blame him

He was also already falling down when he got hit. Or so it seemed. Either way, yes, I can blame him for going down so softly when already 3-1 with less than two minutes to go, and I can definitely blame him for celebrating like such an asshole when the game was already in the bag. Just showing zero respect for Atletico.

CR7 lives in his own world were CL score sheets matter more than anything apart from his abs.

Was I happy about the PK call? No. Was it right call? Yes. The referee did miss a few potential PK calling opportunities (Free kick with the elbow in the air for example) and perhaps those were in the back of his mind. As for it being soft, I can't say, in real time it looked normal, but in slow-motion it did not. Unfortunately, all the referees can see is real time and slow-motion has a way of making things look highly suspect.

You seem to forget Ronaldo was playing in front of his home crowd, had been injured for the past 2? 3? weeks, and was playing in the fucking CL Finals. There were a lot of high emotions in that game after being down 1-0 for 62ish minutes and 2 minutes from losing the game. This is a large stage and every goal counts. I can only imagine the excuses there would be if Messi or Neymar had scored a goal and done that.

Shoulda just called this the 2014/2015 European Football/Soccer thread so people don't bitch about other leagues and tournaments being discussed. I'm already excited for next season though, its gonna be some race with Man U trying to get back into the Top 4 with Liverpool now showing what they can do making it a tight squeeze at the top.

Arsenal better sign a damn striker.

I realized that after I made it, but c'est la vie unless a mod can change the title.

Some rumors Mata may go to Barcelona. Interested to see if that will hold true.

In that situation, no, I don't think it's the right call. And that free kick with the elbow is never, ever a pk. Arm was to his side, and he was turning to avoid getting hit in the face. It's ridiculous to think that should be called a penalty.

Why does that matter? The idea of class is that you ignore all the other factors and respect your opponent. Being classless is doing exactly what Ronaldo did: indulge his emotions with no regard for his opponent. Would Neymar celebrate the way Ronaldo did? I don't know. But I'm sure we can all agree that Messi would never act the way Ronaldo did.

The elbow was raised, away from the body, and altered the free kick. Is it a tough call to make? Yes. Could it go either way? Yes. It is up to the referee to make it a call. I actually agreed with that call, but some people, including myself could see it going either way.

Sorry about the horrible music in that.

Class can be overridden by emotions because emotions are primal. Is it an excuse? No, but it is understandable.

It is impossible to 100% sure, but I recall Messi doing a few of his own shirtless celebrations for one reason or another.

He just looks foolish celebrating scoring a soft penalty, in the 120th minute of a match that his team had all but already won. You can celebrate like that when you make it 1-1, or 2-1. Not 4-1.

predictions.

1. Newcastle keeps Pardew for no good reason.

2. Newcastle stumbles along in the mid-table all year.

alright so is it normal for a player to come out and complain about not making the World Cup roster? I understand it's a big deal and all but it seems a little unprofessional.

sidenote: if i'm Brazil...i'm having Ronaldinho

also, who's trying to rent his pad?

I personally do not care that he got left off, but I don't blame him one bit. If I was one of the 7 who got cut from the final 30 I would be pissed and probably make a stink.

No way Ronaldinho makes Brazil's current team. I love the legend of Robaldinho as much as everyone else but his days are past.

The elbow wasn't away from the body, it was on the side of his body, where elbows happen to be. He was turning away so it wouldn't hit him in the face, so it hit him in the elbow instead. Would have been a ridiculously soft call to call it a pk.

Understandable, sure, but the idea of class is that you are able to control your emotions, no? That he lost control is what makes him classless...

The only time Messi has ever celebrated a goal by taking his jersey off is when he has an undershirt underneath with a message written on it. Hardly the same thing.

Aw cmon, he's just as old as your boy Zidane was in the 06 world cup, he's destined for the golden ball.

not saying Ronaldinho is at the same level Zidane was btw. i just want to watch him play

France vs Norway today...good match. Giroud with 2 good goals, Remy with a nice Thierry Henry-esque run, and Valbuena with 3 assists.

France midfield will be one to look out for during the World Cup. Put that together will their pretty solid defense...not bad. Hopefully Benzema and Giroud can pull it together with remy on the bench....and suddenly they're looking very good.

That goal was in 120th min in the last CL game to tie Messi for most CL goals ever. It was also the last minute of the game and he was celebrating a season in which he led Real Madrid to CL victory. I'd do the same thing

So what better way to celebrate his team's achievements, than to bring all the focus onto himself...

Then you're also a classless piece of shit. And, just so you know, Raul is still ahead of both of them on the all time cl goal scoring chart.

That's fucking stupid...Fuck Man City and Fuck the Yankees.

??? Why is it stupid? Chelsea didn't want Lampard anymore, they put him on the list of guys they weren't planning on resigning. I guess Villa leaving is a little stranger, but still not that odd, I mean he is turning 33 this year, it's not like he's young.

i just don't like to see the Man City/Yankees mentality of buying championships. It's just not fun...

It's not like they're washed up players...i mean, they're both going to the world cup

Obviously they need players, but idk it just seems stupid. But that's just my opinion, you don't have to agree with it.
