EDUCATION OF STYLE REVIEW

Best movie since royalty.

Phil: Editing was sick. So refreshing to watch something with some personality and creatiity mixed in. You kids just hate cause the editing doesn't allow you to freeze frame and analyze every trick. You want a training video then keep watching slow mo msp super jump shit.

Thall: Still progressing. Going to be scary what he's capable of!

Henrick: Best segment in years!

how bout because its fun and creative. sorry its not the same hi def, crystal clear slo-mo, and m83/dub step soundtrack this industry has turned into.

+k Crotchkiller just finds it necessary to disagree with everything I say for no apparent reason, he secretly likes Bdogs segment because I know he's not stupid and realizes that Bdog had it edited like that because of the song/intro choice.

im not even going to argue with you, if you didnt like it so be it- personal preference. but youre retarded for being so stubborn about it.

T Hall's segment was tighttttt. B dogs was alright. I was trippin balls on the editing. and Henriks was suppperr dope too. hahahahahaha padi im a ghost aight?

Movie was straight fireeee, best movie since Eye Trip honestly. And bdogs seggy was madd trippy. Thalls segg was straight inspiring, and I loved the whole vibe of it. And yeah Edollo just straight killed it. The music was bangin the whole movie too.

yeah phils segment was a bit overedited, but watch it again without a weiner in y'alls asses and you might notice the flow and vibe is amazing...RZA tracks were such hot fire as well

pretty dope movie but henrick's part was the obvious banger segment. Tanner coulda gotten rid of the jamakin-me-horny parts though

Best movie since Eye Trip = not saying much how? Only because it wasn't that long ago or you didn't like Eye Trip?

phils trannying. oh mer gerhd, and henriks switch lincoln. mind blowing. not gunna lie i skipped part of thalls part

Thalls seggy was hard to watch with the music. Henriks dub 7 was sick along with bdog flat rail to down rail tranny

next time youre at CVS or walgreens or whatever just buy a 10 dollar gift credit card and buy it with that. it's eeeasily worth ten bucks. the insane skiing makes up for any drawbacks in editing, du rags, or shots from jamaica by a long shot

Just got done watching and I thought this at first, but then I realized all that non-skiing anecdotal stuff in each segment was supposed to parallel their skiing style. So T- Hall being in Jamaica effects the way he rides how he sees himself riding. You can think thats stupid but I don't think he was just trying to show off that he lived in Jamaica.

Alright heres the deal. I dont buy ski movies anymore i bought some of stepts movies in the past 3 years but thats it. I was gonna wait until i finished it but i couldnt make it to the end of Casabons seg to say. THIS IS THE BEST SKI MOVIE SINCE TBC. I cant even think of a movie that compares to this in recent years. The first minute of Casabons segment was a little over edited but for the most part i like it. Eat some shrooms, smoke a party bowl, Drop some acid and appreciate this.

I would put this up there with Idea and TBC

Just watched it as soon as it downloaded yesterday, and I was pretty impressed. I feel like it's one of those movies that you can't watch over and over again though, at least for me. I have to let it sink it and revisit it in a couple days/weeks to appreciate it again.

I loved how each segment was styled around how they skied. It made it seem much more personal.

Also, while Henrik's part was my favorite, Tanner's part is so much more impressive given what he's been through injury wise. I can't wait to see what he's capable of once he's back to 100%, Sochi '14 yooooo.

I liked Retallack MUCH better.

I don't like watching urban, so much of this film did nothing for me. Tanner's segment was cool.

I thought Retallack was insane, the type of movie that really made me want to ski. This one, not so much.

Ya, that movie was incredibly gay. From Phil's cheesy, poorly directed and over-edited segment, to Tanner picking up ugly Chinese girls at the Bob Marley museum to Henrik trying to act like a black person (which was very difficult to watch) it was disappointing. They are all incredibly good skiers (legends) but I felt like I had just watched something a 12 year old put together.

movie was dope, only problem i have is with henriks intro, too cocky on edollos part and it took trying to be black and gangsta to a whole new terrible level. Skiing was ill though and redmans shoutout! haha

I'm clearly out of touch with the yoof of today. I also did not enjoy this movie.

Bad points:

It seems to me that much of it was plugging a lifestyle and rather than show casing high quality skiing. As has already been said B-dog's part appeared over edited and as a result uninspiring.

Tanner Hall's skiing is less exciting than it used to (though hats off to him for longevity).

Henrik needs to work on his acting in order to pull off such an opening sequence.

I felt the editing made it inaccessible.

Good points:

Controversial and not the same as the belt fed big company formula.

Seems like it was athlete led and had showed a great deal of expression which has got to be what free skiing is all about.

Good sound track if you are a hood rat.

Tanner Hall returning after injury yet again.

The above are just my opinions and I'm sure many of you will love it.

In my opinion Tanner's part was sick all around (give or take macking Jamaican bitties), but by far my favorite shots were the urban quarterpipe-style setups. Sure it isn't slaying a real 22ft pipe, but if that doesn't speak volumes about his level of comfort in the pipe, I don't know what does.

I wouldn't spring for the DVD, but for 10$ the download is pretty good. I was expecting it to be much longer though.

The Education of Style was the best ski movie I have ever seen!Maybe I'm weird, but I don't need Planet Earth quality shots of the landscape or slow-mo shots from a Phantom cam to appreciate some good skiing! Phil's segment was very fresh, and I thought the editing and soundtrack flow nicley with Bdogs skiing style. For such a long segment, I didn't even begin to get bored by the time Tanners seggy started. Tanner's, although it could do without the Jamaican chicks, was very well done for Tanner, and although his park shots aren't the best, he is definitely showing improvements in his skiing especially with his backcountry dubs, defs not behind the game in the bc. The Friends segment was nothing special, but a good time filler I guess. EDollos segment= Amazing! The cheesy acting and Redman shout out are hilarious, and the skiing is off the charts. So Dollo! Loved the movie! The pre-order special with the free bandana is probably the best 20 bucks I've ever spent. INSPIIRED!

just watched tanners segment again looking for the pipe tricks. damn third time through and its still fresh

Phil's editing was probably inspired (no pun intended) from Heni's part in GB last season go watch it they have SOME similarities. Overall thought the movie was awesome and different which was the point I feel like. The idea was to not go by the same model of PBP or L1.

first ski movie that's gotten me truly hyped to ski in a while. i agree phil's segment is very over-edited, but he does have some of the best shots in the movie. i wish they included a seperate part of everyone for when you are just looking for raw ski footy to get stoked on. it would be a tough movie to watch quickly before you are going to the mountain.

henrik's part had some of the best skiing i've ever seen. also the best edited segment of the movie by far. i think i would be a bit disappointed with the movie if it didn't end with such a bang (which all good action sports films do).

ski movies have potential now, it's good to see film part skiers doing different stuff than competition skiers that doesn't always have to be backcountry.

Am I the only one that enjoyed phils segment? Yeah I definitely felt like I was in the middle of an LSD trip, but I still enjoyed it.

I had to buy this shit for 15$ since I don't have a PC and had to get it on Zune for Xbox. Fuck Microsoft for the extra 5$.

That being said, it was such a dope movie. I don't mind the editing in Phil's seg, but wish they didn't use as much slo-mo/rewind through THall and Heni's segs. Skiing from everybody was on point. Loved THall's pipe -esque urban shots. Soundtrack fit, and was the dose of Jah/Thug that I needed. For 10-15$ you can't go wrong.

I've watched it about 5 times now, and it gets better the more you watch. The 1st time through I didn't really appreciate it but after you get past te effects, the skiing is amazing

Yeah and there were only about 3 spots & the others had more pipe shots than he had urban, its just a little odd when he's such a boss at pipe not to have any shots of him tearing up the pipe. not hating just felt it would make a nice additition to the film showing him as the well rounded skier he is.
