EDUCATION OF STYLE REVIEW

I enjoyed watching this more than any ski movie I have seen in a long time. I feel sorry for the people that have a predisposed view on how a ski movie should be edited. To the people complaining about the shots of Tanner in Jamaica: did you realize every section was cut with some sort of theme? His was about living the RASTAFARI life. Every ski segment is cut with filler shots, whether they be shitty tricks or Tanner in Jamaica. Get over it. Plus, it was funny (I don't think it was supposed to be though). I enjoyed all the segments and would rate them in the order they were shown, starting with 3rd best. Absolutely worth the $20 I spent.
 
pretty sure most of NS agrees that the skiing is dope. the trouble some people have is that they get tired of the filters...let them complain, the important thing is that you like it....
 
I was thinking the same thing. i would love to see a re-edit that wasn't so butchered. that said, i was 20% feeling the psychedelic theme, and i respect casabon for being so innovative and experimental with his skiing AND his segments.

everybody in this threat is pretty much right. there is legitimate shit to gripe about, but also some of the sickest footage in years, particularly henrik's, but also cassabon's and Thall's (like that loop off the wall at the beginning).

my favorite part was the diversity in Henrik's seg. urban, pipe, park, winter and summer backcountry. and he was killing features that you don't see this generation of skiers making use of, like backcountry hips.

that huge hip with the first lobster flip reminded me of the one that tanner kills in an old MSP movie (ski movie?)
 
or even just huge backcountry gaps and booters. it seems like backcountry jibbing has stalled out a bit. you'd think landing and riding switch in the backcountry would have progresses more by now, too considering where pep was 8 or so years ago. seems like backcountry dropped off with the 4bi9ification of newschool skiing. i hope it comes back.
 
His EDIAS part was three years ago. The backcountry has just turned into a place where park skiers go to make the tricks they do in the park filmworthy. Lots of the jumps now are almost the same as park jumps but with a pow landing.
 
I hear what youre saying. I hope more and more back country skiers start going the way of nicholas muller and gigi ruf where nearly every thing they hit is a natural take off and they do the hardest most clean shit. I think Tim is close to that level with the stuff hes coming out with this year.

the first time i watched b- dogs part i thought it was shit and impossible to watch, now ive watched it back a fair few times i love it! just watch a few more times and you will too. tanners was pretty decent but definatly not as good as the other parts. Henriks of course was fucking rediculous, he is on another level of life.

It was kinda hard for me to watch it initially, but then the other night I came home blazed, sat down and re-watched the whole movie. Phil's part just made sense to me when I was high, I have no idea how to explain it.
 
How about that dub 7 in the pipe? Or the switch flat 3 off the motocross jump? or the cork 180? Mind-bending the way henrik lands a trick earlier in the rotation than you expect...
 
I agree with op that bdog's segment was over edited, but after having watched it more, you can see through the editing and get a better glimpse at the baller skiing going on.

Tanners seg was dope, but the part with the jamacan ladies made him look like a tool. Great to see him back and on top.

I don't even need to say anything about edollo's segment
 
I got to say that Ed of Style reminded me of my favorite skate videos that coming out now. Rootsy. I like the look and feel of the movie. It is way cool that they did it on Low2No budget. Props.
