Edit that got you into freeskiing...

Jon Olsson, Pep Fujas, and Tanner Hall in poor boyz productions Happy Dayz (on VHS)! I remember Feeling so cool having the kid's version of Pep's K2 Enemys!

Focused is the movie that turned me from dabbling in snowboarding back to skiing and towards twins. But Warren Miller's "extreme winter" from the early 90's or maybe earlier is what got me into skiing in the first place.

SHANGHAI SIX!!! When i saw this I thought to myself "HOLY SHIT, YOU CAN DO THAT ON SKIS?" and "WOW, I WANNA BE A SKI FILMMAKER WHEN I GROW UP."

Before I got into skiing, I was a snowboarder for many years. I just went on Youtube one day and searched skiing and a video with the tag "twin tip steeze" or something like that came up. I watched the video and I was amazed at how sick skiing looked and immediately wanted to try it out. Soon after, I found out that the edit I had watched was Tom Wallisch's Superunknown. I didn't even know who he was or how many people respected him at the time haha.

wallisch's superunknown, saw it on a rollerblading forum a couple years ago quit snowboading and started to ski

Same for me! I remember back in 7th grade (1998) my buddy Noah brought PBP's 13 and Degenerates into school. We watched one during lunch break and one during art class. I remember seeing Toben Sutherland doing a Venus flytrap before I had any idea what the hell that was. Totally blew my mind.

Noah's brother Josh was the source of the movies, without him I don't know how the hell we would have figured out all this cool shit you could do on skis. A few weeks later Noah brought some unknown movie over to my house that he promised would be entertaining, his brother Josh was in it. I was skeptical as the movie only came in a blank white VHS sleeve with no cover design or details whatsoever. I picked up the VHS tape and it had a little sticker on it that read "Balance". A true inspiration for me, in fact I don't think I'd be doing what I am now if it wasn't for seeing Balance.

TGR's Harvest was an early one for me as well. Very cool flick, also probably the only legit movie to ever use a Phish song in a ski movie haha.

Ski Movie. then a few years later going to see the premier of Focused and getting to meet Seth and Shand really had a big influence on me as a kid.

my first movie that made me think about getting twin tip was strike, a movie that i have lost :( and never found either, i have searched on google, youtube or vimeo...

but the movie i loved after i bought my first pare of twin tip was Get Lucky. maybe watched it over 100 times.

degenerates johnny d, mike d on the glacier in a flower shirt and shane szocs with the super tweak mutes, also the 1080 vid that came with my skis that year

This is the very first edit i watched many times, used to snowboard and this one, along with the Oakley team video showed earlier are the two that really got me addicted to skiing, now i've been skiing for 4 years and enjoy it :)

hahaha. it takes ballz to admit that you typed steezy in the searchbar. But im guilty also. Superunknown edit was definetly what got me super duper stoked on park.

What got me into freeskiing was being better than my friends who were two years older. Then watching movies came next. Ski Movie 3. The whole video got me stoked everytime. Yeah that was in 2002.

same for me, watched it about a hundred and twenty times before learning real rail stuff, after just generally skiing around for a few months
