Well after the heated arguments with the diffrent crews last year, the east vs. west rivaily has come up once agian.

 
I just read two posts in a row where it was east vs. west....wow. they're super different, it's hard to compare the mountians and the skiers who rip them.

east coast wins by far, we are doing the same shit they are on the west. o yeah, we do it on ice too, not 3 inches of fresh powder a day

im from the east and i love it but imagine going off a 20' drop and not sticking the landing ( don't act tough, we all have done it) I know i would like to land in the nice 3' powder not our East coast powder 8'.

Although an East coaster can tear up a mountain a lot better and more technical because we know how to edge. Its not really an option over hear East with no edging is like bambi on ice.......flatt on your face.

west wins period. just becuase kids in the east ski on ice doesnt mean that they can ski better than kids in the west

 
eastcoast kids can't ski anything but park an a tiny slope...but they rip it in the park as well as west coast....so i say west...westsiiide

East coast skiers have nothing on west coast kids. They ski on flat little hills. When you east caost skiers get on some real mountains like Alta, Snowbird, Sqauw, or Kirkwood and see how steep and knarly it is you'll see why West coast skiers are better. We ski ice too, it's not like it snows everyday here.

These threads are sooo retarded. They revolve around the blind pride of east coast skiers. West coast skiers don't start threads saying why the west is better. It's always that east coast punk trying to defend the east. Get over your pride and listen to logic.

West coast skiers are better. As the other guy said, get your ass to the top of a double black and look down... then you'll know why West coast skiers are better. Sure, the east can produce some good racers and freeskiers but what else is there to do? Besides that, the west still produces great freestyle skiers and racers. You can't even use that... Besides, parks get groomed every night ussually! They shouldn't really even have powder in em! God knows mine never did. We save the powder for everywhere else. No matter what you say, the east doesn't get much powder and THAT'S why east coast skiers are not as good. It has nothing to do with the skiers themselves.

seriously the east sucks, if any east coast skier could swap his local mountain for any big mountain on the west there would be no argument. i live on the east, never been west, and i love it but still id rather be out west

This isnt even a fair matchup. Its basically the rocky mountains, the largest mountain range in North America, vs....what? the white mountains? Face it we lost this one east coast brethren. Besides, its not like the west coast can ski another 3 months a year than us. O wait they can nevermind.

 
i think that the same amount of talent comes from both coast but its harder lo learn new tricks on the east coast because u land on ice

 
whats fucked up is that i live of the edge of the time zone in far eastern Siberia...where East meets West.

look. bottom line is that he was born and raised east coast.

and im not debating that everyone benefits from a trip to whistler...it launched dave crichtons career back in 2001, simon dumont really showcased his pipe skills at the 2002 wsi for the first time, obviously hugo becoming a ski bum at whistler payed dividends. hopefully the pattern will continue for me this february, reading week, oh baby...

So what I have read so far basicly people agree that west is better for snow, park and skiing in genreal. Now would it be unfair to say that west cost skiers have a advantage over east cost skier for getting things from compneys and being in movies? Sence there is clearly an advantage that west cost skiers have over east cost skiers.

west coast mountains=better east coast skiers=better skiers/tougher conditions east coast skiers=move west and get better because they already have such a sick background and get more coverage (but thats not for everyone, some kids grow up out west and are sicker than east coasters

has anyone ever thought of the fact that some easterners are good bc skiers? the way we can rip through woods and sometimes we can be skiing the same pitch of slope as the westerners do on big mountains but we're skiing it on ice....i know ive hiked up the sides of trails where its cut out and some cliffs and been launching it onto ice.

well im stuck in the middle and ski both, but i would say east coast skiers rip harder, while most PC kids after they dont grease a rail throw a hissyfit and proceed to cry for 10 minutes and then light a spliff of the dirtiest weed imaginable, yet they dont care bc theyre being XXXXtreme

well ill say it again, westcoast kids kill it harder than the east coast kids. i would even take west coast in the park almost any day. all the sickest parks are out west. shredding ice doesnt matter if you dont have the terrain that tehy have out west. anybody who is anybody can shred ice. i know im from the minnesota we live off ice.

 
^yea west has better conditions and better parks but does that mean they have better skiers? i dotn know about you people but i learned most my shit off jumps built into the sides of lift towers and curve jumps on the side of the trail and launching out of the end of the 6 foot half pipe. thats where i learned almost all my shit. and grinding logs. look at how good some easterneers can become on what little shit they have and they can still compete against westerners with amazing parks

Its not like the gene pool on the East Coast is superior to those out West, Western skiers are usually more varied in their skills, because they have park, powder, cliffs, tech lines, groomers, and bumps. East really has the occasional powder day, park, and bumps, and some trees, but not like out west. Obviously, Western skiers are going to be able to learn more of skiing than East Coasters are.

east coast by a mile, we get it all here, sometimes some freshy pow, wet pow, ice, groomer, hardpack, but you guys in the west get pow and groomer thats it, i dare you to try and throw down on an icy jump with an even icer landing. East Coast what what.

 
east coast skiers make up for theyre shitty skiing conditions with theyre fucking awsome skiing skillz, we had to learn everything we know off shitty things, and we still hold our grounds + some on the west coasters

East and west are different worlds. Different mountains. Different snow. Different riders. To my personal taste, I would much rather ride out west. I think the west has way more to offer.
