haha the right coast is getting full of themselves... out of the 10 or so trailers to come out since march, 9 of them were from the east, and the one from the west was better than all right coast movies... i am talking about Safety meeting, the editing wasnt as good, but the skiing blew the east out of the water... so right coast, dont get too cocky, you havent seen the rest of the west teasers yet...

safety meeting waas very very sick, but they had big mtn footy. how often do the eastern kids ski big mtn like that and huck good sized cliffs. for what we have and what we do, id say the east is pretty sick

i dont think you understand the consequence you would have if these kids got waist deep powder lines. every trick an EC'er does has to be calculated or your not gonna ride for a month.there is no cork 7 to ragdoll, cuz you wouldnt walk away from it. skiing pow is not that hard if your a good skier, especially on fat planks, i mean how could you miss your landing?

there is nothing more exciting than lofting a 180 in to powder, exploding in to a ragdoll for 3 flips, than getting up to laugh about it,

 
I beg to differ. Just because someone is a good skier, regardless of where they come from, doesn't mean they will automatically be able to rip in pow and on big mtn lines. You say every trick an EC rider does must be calculated, which in most cases is probably very true. However, you fail to realize that most in many cases, big mtn lines must be even more calculated. Knowing your line means hitting the cliff at your desired spot and using your intended landing. Not knowing your line could mean certain death as you accidentally mis your proper take off and hit a much larger portion of the drop that ultimately has a rocky landing.

The bottom line is, I have respect for riders from all over, but just because you can land a cork 7 on ice, don't assume you can easily make the switch to killing the big lines. Some may have the ability to do this, but not all I assure you.

and along those lines, I doubt any big mtn skier from the west can stick the switch ups and urban shit these EC kids do.

It's not that we're better skiers, or you are, it's different types of skiing.

learn the skills in VT then move to Tahoe and kill it...if you can tear it up in icy ec conditions you can rule it everywhere else....

started at bellarye in 1978-1980, Okemo 1981-1996, Alpine Meadows 97-now.....

word....these west coast peoples just dont know how us EC paid our dues...there is NO pain in cali skiing just sunshine and good snow....back east your dealing with COLD, ICE and NYers...

 
The types of skiing are completely different.

Please don't compare icy landings and big mtn lines. They both are sketchy and that's about all that there is in common.

 
yea umm your wrong melvs... the east has some good jibbers, but so does the west... its not like we all are seth morrison wanna bees, we ski park... and alev, i know the ec doesnt have big mountain, i was talking park and jumps and urban... ummm dorey went 20 feet out on a flat, you guys have good pipes... go that high... also, lib slide to fs switch up on a steep urban dub kink... i am not trying to pick a fight with the whole east coast scene, but its kinda gay that people from the east are starting to think that they are the best park skiers in the world...

what the fuck are you talking about "the majority of west coast rippers have roots in the east." that's some of the dumbest shit i've ever heard. i know tons and tons and tons of sick left coast rippers that were born and raised right here. don't make a comment unless it has a least a little bit of validity.

Of course...in my first post I was clearly not taking sides and I clearly agreed with you that both EC and WC have sick skiers and totally different types of skiing. However, when someone makes a silly remark that most WC rippers have EC roots, I'm going to have to correct them.

man when ssx tricky came out i remember thinking what itd be like if they did it with skiing. like having a christ air where you take both your skis off and stick your arms out t the side. if they really did that it would be so funny. but yea, im gonna get the game

melvs.... read my second sentance... the east coast has some good jibbers, but so does the west... some of the best park skiers ever are in the east... but o wait, where did Tanner, Pep, CR... well almost everybody ski...? the west. i am not saying the west is better... both coasts have dope skiers, but it sucks when these kids come on and think that the east has the best park skiers and the west sucks... haha

um yea...lame to say east is better than west..west coast has some nutty urban park pipe errrything skiers...buuuuut so does the east noww...so i wold say give props to east coast kids for killing it this year, but dont undermind how much the west coast kids killed it too...so in conclusion east has rippers...they are getting props in this thread...west also has rippers..they kill it just as hard..this just isnt the west coast props thread
