Again, I don't understand why you wouldn't use the right analog to pop off of jumps.
Why would you want two different "jumps"? It seems like that would over complicate things. If you're saying you'd just prefer all jumping to be assigned to a face button (ala Tony Hawk), I can respect that...I just disagree.
Have you played SKATE or Tiger Woods? If you pull back and push forward quickly, you get a small ollie/weak swing. That mechanic is literally perfect for a ski game in my opinion. Popping off of a small jib lip is just a quick flick of the stick, where as popping off of a 65ft. table requires a full on crouch and pop.
What exactly would you be opening up the right analog stick for? I'm not sure if you read my obnoxiously long post, but if you take a look at it (first section on general riding), I talk about ideas around buttering/pressing using the right analog stick (involves swinging the right analog stick in the "shove it" motion of SKATE, combined with throwing the Left analog stick in the same direction. My rationale being that in order to butter, you throw your weight out over your noses to flew the skis - right analog, and throw your hips to spin - left analog).
