Durable park skis

what brands/skis are really durable? I brought suspects last year but they got screwed real quick. My ar6s are nice but getting old. just looking for a good durable ski that will take a beating and last a few seasons.

thanks, what do the reno jibs ride like? like i mean are they softer or stiffer? and what are the edges like on rails? sorry for all the questons

Check out my review on them in my profile under review.

They are medium stiff flex. You can butter them, but you gotta throw all your weight on the tips. I got a total of 5 edge cracks after 40 days of skiing. My friend's domains got 5 edge cracks after 20 days of skiing, so they are pretty durable.

if you ride ar6's right now then i'd suggest going to the ar7. pretty much the exact same ski and armadas are one of the toughest in the industry

im not trying to rip on you but you dont ski rails very hard, so its not really fair to say that they are super durable on rails.

OP i have yet to run into a super durable park ski, a friend of mine (who fucking slays i might add) has been holding onto a pair of ar6's for a long time (4-5 seasons) and they are still going strong. little bit of edge missing here and there but still in decent condition.

In my experience K2 makes very durable park skis.

However my longest lasting park ski is the fischer addict, edge wise at least. The top sheet is the worst chipping top sheet of all time I'm certain..

You didn't make it very clear what your looking for. If your looking for the most durable park ski out there then look at the Amplid Township, but it not the best ski on jumps. But if your looking for a ski thats durable and is solid on jumps, then I would look at the AR7 like a lot of other said. They are a better ski than the Township, but I dont think their is a ski that can take more of a beating.

no, amplid has had durabality issues a lot, just because its advertised as a urban ski doesnt wean it will hold up to it well! the AR7 is the way to go!

jeez 5 edge cracks after 40 days, i'd say that's a lot, esp if you're what like 140 lbs? I weight 200 and ski rails on the east coast 40 days a season, and frankly i'd be pissed if my skis ended up with that many edge cracks after that short a period. I'd be content with a ski that had 1 crack after a full season.

To the OP, buy heads. They are the most durable skis on the market. I rode a pair for 3 seasons, and i'd still be riding them if the bindings didn't turn to shit. Most durable skis you can buy for your money.

given that we hardly know anything about 2012 skis and how they will preform it is almost impossible to tell, but some do remain the same year to year.

OP, check out bluehouse antics, they are mad cheap and pretty durable, and if they do break/get beat up u wont feel too guilty especially sense u sepnt $250 on em!

Well almost half those days I skied only rails. 8 rails per run, 10 mins per run, 6 laps per hour, I ski 6 or 7 hours a day. That's almost 300 rails in a day.

hate to say it man but moments arent very durable. if you ride aggressively after a season of park riding the skis are gettin down on their life. every pair i've seen from a year of actual heavy usage, has turned them out pretty messed up.

and to the OP i really wouldnt trust small newer companies such as ON3P, Moment, Surface for park skis because they really dont have the construction on lock yet. not biased its just the truth, i've seen more independent brand skis break in the park than anything else. and then suspects. AR6's seemed to hold up amazing but this years AR7's seemed to get alot of cracks from a few pairs i looked at. tough call, best bet is to buy off backcountry and warranty when they break..

That is true about surface but moment and on3p are some of the most durable skis out there.

They are in no way worse than armada.

Also show me a park ski that lasts more than a season of heavy usage. Ive had 3 pairs of park skis this season. They are all fucked up.

i ski in the midwest and go prob 4 times a week with practically all rails and my K2 extremes lasted me a season with only one edge break and the Revival is pretty much this years extremes, so these would get my vote

Well k2 make bombproof ski, still have my old PE. Armada are pretty good too, but i have JJ'S cant say much on park ski. Just buy some thall/ar7 or domain/revival.

chronics. at least eh 09/10. I ran over a fucking boulder at high speed, dislodged it from the ground, and only had a small scratch in the base.

ar7s for sure ive crashed into rails, rocks, and over shot my landings but they are still in great conditions. edges are still super sharp too

I had a pair of head mojo two's (junior cap ski) for two years, and I think they are pretty well indestructible so I would assume Head's more quality skis will be ever better.

k2's, minus their stupid soft topsheets (may have changed this year? mine are 2 years ago's) are pretty bomproof. edges and base are pristine, topsheet is just hacked but thats purely cosmetic.

Armada and K2 are always solid bets.

I used to burn through almost 3 pairs per year until I bought my AR6s which are still going strong after 1.5 years. It's hard to find 'em cheap, but it's definitely a worthwhile investment IMO.

Thats called a defect. My jmos and caylors have been the most durable skis ever. Cant say the same for any other ive had this year. Those are the only ones left.

Yeah your right about it being a defect. besides that my j mos have been holding up alright couple of edge cracks, did crack my topsheet tho

on3p uses thicker bases and edge then armada, uses stronger, more environmentally friendly bamboo cores which are lighter, snappier, and more poppy, and are made with the highest craftsmanship you can get for under a grand(and better then some that charge more then that)

OP, on3p

Moment makes durable skis... Great build quality, strong edges.. mine held up like champs..
My Line Elizabeths have had 150+ days on them, the edge/base separated under the boot after maybe 125 but i epoxied it back together and they are still going strong...

Anyone know of a very cheap way to get some moment rockers to the uk/europe? like under $400??

Looking forward to seeing how the antigen ride, not got our samples yet ; but as they are a price point ski, they obviously won't be quite as durable as the LTE, however I'm still expecting great things for the price.

My friend has beat the shit out of his Line Chronics for the past 2-3 years and they just started to delam at the end of this year. And a few of my friends have Ledges/Walls and those have been pretty durable.

heard they would be pretty good for durability, same edges and construction as lte, longer lengths, ealry rise, but the one problem is that they will have an extruded base

If you're talking straight up durability, a thin extruded base might actually hold up better than a thin sintered base on rails and such. But if you want any wax to stick to it, yeah, obvious choice.

I've had my AR6's for 4 seasons and i ski rails quite often. The only thing that's wrong with them besides the bases being pretty scratched is the fiber glass in the topsheet splinters pretty bad. Fiberglass splinters are the worst too. In my opinion they should make the topsheet like the 09/10 JJ. Except it's really hard to get stickers to stick it...

Rossi's are so durable rode mine hard in the park for a season and a half and theres still nothing wrong with them scratched to shit but the edges are still fine. cant go wrong with S4's

Moment = durable???!?!?

my friends tail delamed the first day he had his reno jibs, another friend snapped a tail on her moments... and she weighs about 100 pounds... If you were to get moments I would get them for powder skis. Heard great things about the bibbys.
Armada, Rossi, K2 seem to be the most durable in my experience.

on3p may use thicker bases but i'm doubting there of the same quality as some of armada's race bases, aswell armada's cores are triple layered from 3 types of wood(probly not some random combo) and then carbon fibre and kevlar covered to give it that extra pop. i dont like how on3p is pushed so hard on this site... if anyone asks what ski to get half the anwsers are gonna be on3p.
