I think hes only really still famous because hes been out in the skiing community for a while now but in all seriousness hes getting his ass kicked by everyone else. Skiers like chug, shlopy, durtschi, and even bertones are all beating him at skiing. I personally think that he should no longer be invited to joss. Every year he does the same Double fronts, tail cork 9s etc. He doesnt really do doubles and his rail game (although slumdog illionaire was ok) is pretty shitty. Sorry for the rant but I had to speak my mind. anyone else agree?
 
yeah, i think its pretty safe to say that every person who picks up a pair of skis is better then him....

you are wrong he is still one of the best on jumps, in the pipe, and his rails are decent (jon olsson is still considered one of the best, when his rails are worse than any other pro skier) so no simon dumont is nasty i dont know why everyone likes to hate on him
 
but thats the thing, he doesnt win pipe anymore, and most other skiers (listed above) are throwing down waay harder on jumps, i havnt seen him double cork or anything.

Simon Dumont is probably better than you. I don't really see why people complain about how he is skiing, seeing as it really doesn't effect anyone but himself. If he wants to throw corks 3s and 10s all day long so be it. Maybe that's what is fun to him, because all it really comes down to is what is fun for the skier.
 
Im not saying its not fun, and im not saying he sucks either, im saying compared to others hes not as good anymore. read, dumb kids
 
ive seen simon double cork in jons video blog for freestyle berlin qualifications. im pretty sure the is a clip of him doing one he doesnt land but he was close
 
His segments in JOSS are always sick and why do you even care enough to make a thread about it? Did Simon take your place in JOSS? Is that why your hating on him?
 
Durtschi is better on rails and in the backcountry. He kills the park as well. In my opinion aside from the halfpipe aspect of skiing Durtschi blows Simon out of the water.
 
???????? Hes been on the podium on almost every single Pipe Contest he enters. Such as.....THE DEW TOUR, X-GAMES. Also, Ive seen at least 10 videos of him doing doubles, get your facts straight and stop hating on one of the best park skiers in the world. Theres also that little thing about him breaking The highest skied in a pipe, but I mean, thats not that big of a deal or anything. you could probably do that to since your so good.
 
i think hes the best freestyle skier only because he can do the pipe, quarter pipe, x games and dewtour (comps), and fuckin shred the public parks.
 
on the alli show for about a minute wallisch says nothing but good stuff about simon if the pretzel man think hes a good skier than he is because you have no idea what your talking about
 
Alex Schlopy is amazing, Simon Dumont is 10x better. Kid you're an idiot if you seriously think Alex Schlopy is anywhere near as good as the Dumont. ( No offense to Schlopy at all, but he rooms with a kid from my hometown and he's really not that good ( compared to the Dumont, THall, Jossi, Charles, Sammy, etc) )
 
this thread is pointless. I didn't know it was cool to hate on Simon still. He helped create what this sport is today. I enjoyed watching him then and i enjoy watching him now.

You have no respect for the people that built our sport. Why arent you ranting on T-Hall or Sammy or Jon? oh thats right becasue you are following the crowd which say its cool to hate on him. Go back and watch all his parts since day one and tell me if he doesnt get the respect he deserves. Wat riley poor's movie about what tanner says about him. Go learn before you talk shit.
 
Seriously WTF?? Everyone is always complaining that double flips are too much played and they would like to get more steezy relaxed shit like cork 3... And now you come complaining that he won't throw any doubles?
 
You have so many things wrong with this thread. tell me one time that shlopy and dumont have competed together? becasue they haven't so pretty much u fails.
 
What's up with that Seth Morrison dude? All he does is ski and jump off cliffs these days. I've never seen him do any doubles, except for that one dub front, but that cliff was so huge, he had so much time. Like anybody could have double fronted that with all the time he had. Idk, but lk imo, he's getting totally pwned by all the other pros right now.
 
Well said. Simon goes big in the pipe but he always does the same tricks. Once he changes it up, he will continue to be one of the best
 
Yeah Morrison is lame. Everyone can do a 100 foot frontflip in the park these days. He should accept that we're now in the 21st century and the skiing is now in resorts, not in the backcountry. I'm bored of this "out-of-bound" rebel VIKING shit. Powder if for hippies.How about Tom Wallish ?All he ever does is smooth tricks with no soul. Why doesn't he huck more like Greg Tuffelmire or Brad Holmes ? I mean what the fuck is up with making stuff look easy while you can make everyone watching you scared for your life ?

i cant believe people are hatin on simon hes one of the best. sure hes not that great on rails but his jumps and pipe are insane
 
No one can say he´s "the best" around, but he can still slay pipe like few others and has some good jump tricks in his bag, and when you combine that with beeing one of the biggest icons in the sports, the dude´s here to stay. Whether or not he deserves it? I´d say njeee.
