well mine is.....

I was at dicks sporting goods gettin my line invaders mounted the 06 ones with the threaded holes. so when he was looking at the ski hes like "are these used? it looks like they have already been mounted".... im like ya they put threaded holes in a ski...

then at the same place im ask the "Ski expert" there word not mine, and im like "ive got a pair of line invader skis, what bindings would you suggest?" he said "what brand are those now?"
 
"eric pollard ride the stiffest skis around! his new skis, the elizabeths, are like 2x4s"

me-" no, i am pretty sure the lizzies are just about the softes skis you can buy..."

"YEAH! erics the man he can do whatever he wants!"

or

"all these skis are made in china"(volkl, salomon, rossi ect.)

me-"these foils say made in romania in big red letters"
 
meh, the guys at the huge sporting stores are used to helping recreational eight-days-a-season weekend-warrior gapers who don't care where their skis are mounted. Mount your skis yourself or take them to a small shop you trust.
 
me: ive heard from some people that the '07 dumonts were a foam/wood core ski but from what ive heard, they're full woodcore. do you know which is right?

guy: only foam in the dumonts man. the foils on the other hand... those are isocell complex, thats full woodcore, always have been, always will be.

me: im pretty sure those foils are foamcore.

guy: nope.

me: so i was also wondering what the reccommended mounting point in relation to center was.

guy: right there. (points to the line)

me: i know, i mean in relation to true center.

guy: well its gonna be far back for standard and a bit back for simon stance.

me: o rly? ive heard from some people that simon stance was actually forward of center.

guy: they were right, its a bit back from center.

me: i said a bit forward of center, since thats how he actually rides.

guy: no way man, i ski with simon every week! he skis 4-5cm back for slopestyle and center for pipe.

me: well i know jon olsson mounts forward and i thought dumont did too, for better grabs.

guy: why would anyone mount forward?

me: well thanks for the help, i think ill be leaving now. (then i left)

*i walk over and find look px12's"

"sir, arn't these looks?"

"no, they are PX12's"

"are you going to have wide brakes instock soon for the px heel?"

"no, we dont carry looks"

* i show him the look bindings *

"oh, let me check, nope sorry we wont"

"ok, the regular width of the brake is 80 mm correct?, will i be able to bend it 4 mm to fit my thalls"

"no way man, if you try bend a brake it will snap instantly"
 
well at dicks i was looking at some salomon fish skis in 111 for my 5 year old sister and the ski tech came up and here was our conversation

me "how much are these" (there was no sticker on them)

him "how much do you weigh"

me "150lbs why"

him "well you are way to heavy for these skis"

me "no i dont want them they are for my sister"

him "well i cant mount them for u because you are to heavy"

me "no i dont want them for me, they are for my sister, would you please just go scan them and give me a price"

this whole conversation took place over some salomon fish skis in 111 (thats about at my waist)
 
^^ hahahahhahha. thats kinda like how my suporviser for instructing rides on like 140's and he's 6 foot something, and later tells us that we need to ride proper length skis so we look professional
 
ok i told him my height and weight all that crap already

me- what new park skis you got this year?

shop- um i'll go grab you the new ones

while hes gone i look around and grab a pair of 4FRNT STL's

then he comes back with a pair of 2005 dynastar troubled youths like 140

me- um those are way to short and do you have new park skis?

shop- well these are new their just from a few years ago and besides you really want a short park ski.

(im 5'7")

me- well i think i found these i heard theyre real good

and their the right size too (167)

shop- naa you dont want to go with any brands like line, 4Frnt, or armada. you really wanna stick with brands that make race skis they know how to make skis.

then i finally asked for the manager who we are friends with and he hooked me up with with the 4frnts
 
when i took my old scrath BC's to get center mounted i measured out center myself and put a big thick line with white-out on the black topsheet where i wanted it mounted. all these storys scare me
 
hahaa that sucks

but you never know, i have so many retarded douche bags come into the shop where i work at trying to buy kids skis because they think they are snowblades

fortunately I deal with a good shop that know's there stuff,

so I don't have any good stories
 
My friend was at Rei deciding between the Rossignol 12's and 14's and he wasnt sure what he wanted so he ask the ski guy and he is like it doesnt matter they are both bindings and my friend was like well which one do you recommened and he was like just get the more expensive ones so i can get more money..
 
"Yeah so um, these skis have two tips to help you initiate turns better."

I left the store almost immediately after he said that.
 
me-i heard you guys were carrying line this year. Is there any chance that i can see the book that says what you guys ordered.

i broke my heel plate on my salomen s912s

i go to the shop and ask if there is any bindings or heel plates

guy:we dont have any s912s, but i can give you 810s

me: no, i dont want a binding that maxes out at 10

guy: what is yours at now?

me: 9

guy: then your fine, if your at 9, dont worry about it

me: no, i ski hard, i want a binding with a high DIN

guy: look, i'll sell you these 810s now

i just leave
 
oh, after that, my dad brings to the ski to the shop in lake louise, and they give me a new heel plate for 7 dollars

i snapped my volkl's right behind the heel piece of my bindings and they wouldn't warranty it because he said it was "rail damage"
 
not too many stories except for one time when i just demoed a pair of skis for fun because it was free:

me- hey can i try some of those k2 public enemies?

demo guy- (after he mounts the binding for my boot and is handing them to me) wow man, just look at the width of these! have fun on these fatties!
 
Some really stupid stuff has been said to me but I can't remember anything specific. However I did bring in a pair of brand new rossi scratch fs to get mounted. I was getting them mounted like +5 or something near center and I go to pick them up and they mounted them -5 of the traditional line. They had like 6 inches of tail, I was pissed.
 
at christy's in keystone one guy kept pointing at my friends and i while we were checking out skis, he kept saying "jibbers" while pointing to us and gesturing to the other employees and laughing like "get a load of these guys, some jibbers here hahakakaka"
 
I did almost the same thing with my stomps. I drew a line with a marker where I wanted my boot center but when I went back in to pick up my skis they mounted my toe piece on the line.
 
I did the same thing with my Jp Juliens and they told me its wayy off, and that they wont mount them there because its wayy past center...I had asked for them 3 cms back from center, and after hearing his advice I went to another shop and had them mounted 2 cms back from center.
 
me- I am interested in 4FRNT STL's, what is your take on them

guy- well we dont sell those here. we sell armada and salomon and such . See, armadas and salomons skiis are made with much precision ythey are super dependable.

me-oh, but I want the STLs cuz they are light and fairly flexy

guy-well, you dont see much pros landing on the podiums skiing 4frnt, but you see all sorts of armada and salomon riders up there, which is why we confidently sell these skis.

shop guy - we dont believe in carrying garbage.

I bought a pair of the blue line 1260s from the shop right after.
 
he's not totally a retard, he tells you that they dont carry 4frnts and you continue to bitch about how you want them. your like a spoiled brat at christmas.
 
i wasnt saying they were dumb about that i was saying they were dumb about saying they only carry skis that riders who podium ride
 
one guy was trying to sell me girl skis, I said to him that I knew there were girl skis but he kept trying selling these to me
