Here's how I feel about both of them. They have some songs I think are great but they put out more music than any artists out there. The amount of music that they have that is good compared to the amount they make is pitiful.

I hate when people write off drake's music off because they have some odd conception of who he is. Despite if you like his personality or not, Drake is making some of the best pop music right now. I hardly ever listen to hip hop but Drake knows how to put together a damn good album.

Def expect too get a lot of hate for being a Drake a fan on this site, but he kills it man. He has released so much shit for free. He is in like 9 of the top 10 most viewed songs on hotnewhiphop.com and holds the record for most #1 rap singles. Pretty insane given how short it has been.

Favorite song on the new cd is Too Much.

NS is full of hard ass gangsters so yeah, it's to be expected.

Definitely Too Much is up there among favorites, furthest thing and hold on also up there.

I like Furthest Thing a lot. All Me is my favorite thing but that was released awhile, same with hold on.

Shut the fuck up and quit following the trend of blind hate for artists,

I used to hate on Drake, until I actually gave him a chance. He has a lot of soft stuff and a lot of pop stuff, but he can really rap. Just listen to the intro off of this new album, it's pretty great, and the album is pretty good.

I'm not even embarrassed at how much I like drake. I have a soft spot for sensitive rap I guess. I think this album is dope. His music is easy to relate to which I like, and its good chillin music imo. And I hate when people group him in with lil wayne just because they make songs together. Get a wayne album and drake album and compare them and you are gonna find more differences than similarities.

ITT: "hurrr durrrr drake is mainstream and therefore sucks"

Grow up you fucks, or don't post in this thread. Listening to the album now, so far - so good. I was hoping it was pretty mellow like Thank Me Later was and it seems to be so far. Nice chilled out stuff.

i hated on drake before hating on drake was a trend. i can totally understand why it is a trend though, just listen to the guy.

I mean I love Show Me A Good Time, HYFR, I'm Ready For You, Unforgettable, and a couple others. I just think that the majority of what he puts out is bad

I really doubt it. And hate on him and Lil Wayne is just getting redundant and stupid. If you hate on them you probably don't know that much about their music/rap music. I don't really like Lil Wayne's new music, but he is a great rapper with some great material that has done a lot for rap, so I can respect him. I don't like some of Drakes music, but I like some of it too, and I don't hate on it just because my friends do.

If you're going to hate on somebody learn about them first.

You can't call out someone on knowledge of Lil Wayne and then say he has great material without at least a passing mention of how he recycles rhymes. There are lots of songs where he uses the same lines

Actually I can. All I said was he has some great stuff and has been important in hip-hop as well as make some awesome hip-hop. He does recycle rhymes. He does make shitty songs. But people that hate on him usually do not know anything about his albums/mixtapes before Carter III, and just hate on him because it's popular opinion.

Listen I'm not trying to call you out or anything. I'm just trying to make a couple points. First, music (IMO) is the most subjective form of media there is. You're never going to argue someone into a different opinion. You can only make someone see from your point of view. Second, to say that most hate on him because it's popular opinion kinda implies that they have never heard his music and are just hating him because they can. There is no one saying, "I hate wayne's music." Have you heard any of it? "No, i just hate it." And third, a lot of hate for Wayne is self inflicted. The way he goes about things in public turn people off of his music. It's like a pretty girl with an awful attitude. Her attitude makes her less attractive. The way Wayne will throw a fit about not getting let into basketball games without even buying tickets wearing the dumbest outfits I've ever seen and then turning around and doing an interview where he tries to appear like some sort of genius existentialist really makes people dislike him. Granted he does have some great shit and his earlier stuff is better than what he does now but the way he acts now and the music he puts out now doesn't warrant someone who hates going "You know I think I'll look into some older Weezy before I say I hate him."

And this is coming from someone who hates Lil Wayne as a whole but still loves some of his songs, bought Tha Carter IV the day it came out, and has 84 songs and almost 6 hours worth of Weezy in his iTunes
