Drake-Nothing Was the Same

What blows my mind is who the fuck cares if he is soft or too sensitive. Fuck the majority of this site are rich white kids, how the fuck can you even relate with half the gangster shit rap is filled with nowadays blows my mind. The majority of rappers make me cringe at their stupidity and life choices, I actually have respect for Drake.

The majority of rappers nowadays are no talent ass clowns. You can say what you want about Drake but he is by far the most versatile artist in the game right now and is going to have a very long career.
 
This. It really confuses me when people that would be classified as "soft" i.e. the majority of people on this site talk shit about Drake for that very reason. I like Drakes music because he is very talented at finding the balance between boisterous and sensitive. None of you are hard...at all.
 
What happened to just making a song sound good? Who gives a fuck what the lyrics are if it sounds good? Soft? Who fucking cares? Half his songs sound just awful or indistinguishable from any other R&B/Hip Hop or whatever the fuck you wanna call it artist. Tell Drake to make more songs that sound good That's the point of music, to sound good.
 
You see what sounds good is just a matter of opinion. So there is no real point in trying to argue what sounds good or not. But turns out Drake has the most #1 rap singles of all time and he just started a few years ago. He has multiple Grammy's and a shit load of people love his music, he is easily one of the most popular rappers of this age. So yea you may not like his music but a shit load of other people do, and while we all may be wrong and his music may sound "bad" according to you, but what is more likely the case is that you just have shitty taste in music.
 
You must have arrived late to this thread. I've made the point about music being incredibly subjective. I'm now arguing who the fuck cares if he's soft and why are you guys like "oh yeah well this guy is soft too." As for the #1 rap singles, I explained that (indirectly) by pointing out that the sheer amount of music he puts out is topped only by Lil Wayne. Like I said, I like Drake's music. I have over 3 hours of Drake in my itunes. The issue is probably 2 of those hours all sound the same and when songs like Lust For Life come up I can't tell the difference between that and 20 of the other Drake songs I have.

Also the Grammys are a load of shit because you can't hand out awards in something as subjective as music. Give an artist their gold record for selling a ton of shit and then move on
 
Drake has a fairly small discography for how long he's been around. Three albums and a mixtape since 2009 is pretty standard output for an artist in any genre. Fuck, a lot of indie rock artists put out just that much if not more. I do agree that the Grammy's are complete bullshit, not much of an argument against that. As for his music sounding all similar, you could say that about a lot of great artists (Beach House, The Shins, My Bloody Valentine).
 
I try to keep it civil but I'm done with that now. Fuck you. First it was "Don't hate on Drake just because it's the popular thing to do." You know who doesn't care about popular? Me. I truly don't give a fuck what is in or popular. Then it was "You just keep calling him soft. stop calling him soft." Again who gives a fuck. My favorite rapper is Chiddy. Pretty sure he grew up in the suburbs. Who gives a fuck about being soft? And now it's "Oh well you just have a shitty taste in music." I have an idea. How about you get off Drake's dick and realize that he isn't universally great like you think he is. You fucking Drake fans (or maybe just Bomber_BoB, depends on who agrees with him) can't take criticism about your precious rapper who sometimes raps and sometimes just whines along with some of the most boring music I've ever heard. Goddamn it's so annoying. You guys can't just be like "oh he doesn't like Drake. Whatevs." Accept an opinion, stop making excuses for that dickwad (because he is, regardless of the music who he is in real life is a dickwad), and shut the fuck up.
 
Tone doesn't travel through the internet so know that this is written with a much different tone then my other post directed at bomber. I'm seeing 3 official mixtapes by Drake on illroots and 4 albums on iTunes
 
Yeah if you include his two early mixtapes (one came out in 2006, the other 2007) he has 6 official releases over the past 7 years (one of the albums you named on iTunes was originally released as a mixtape then they added a few songs and called it an album). Thats a little over a year for every release. It's a substantial amount but his discography is minute compared to Lil Wayne's (he has released around 32 projects since 1999). He also took almost two years for this latest release and I think the quality definitely reflects that.
 
Holy fuck you are stupid. You can't be like, I am not a hater, I have x hours of drake on my iTunes then say what I quoted. Like talk about fucking contradicting yourself holy shit. You say his shit doesn't sound good, like okay that is pretty much saying this guy sucks.

You say his shit all sounds the same and because of that I think you are fucking hellen keller. Drake is a the most versatile rapper that I listen to, he has both R&B and tracks where he just raps nonstop. Does 5am in Toronto, All me, sound like any of his "bread and butter" song he puts out? Not in my opinion, the flow and vibe is completely different.

And I don't give a fuck what you listen to, and none of the shit of him being soft or anything like that was directed at you as criticism. I just think your taste in music fucking blows if you really think all of Drakes shit sounds the same.
 
Again you didn't read shit. I said half of his shit is awful. Half of it is good. Those slow songs he does blow and they sound the same. I can't tell the difference between Houstatalantavegas and Lust for Life and those songs. I've already said I absolutely love many of his songs which I'm not going to list again. Overall I hate Drake as a person, not as an artist.

Same with Wayne, Kendrick, ASAP, you want to know why? Because they are from the same fucking artist. If you think his shit all sounds the same then you probably just don't like his music. That's fine, nothing wrong with that, but don't try to mask your hate for some bs reasons that make no sense.

 
No idea how you hate him as a person but okay whatever floats your boat. Those slow songs are a completely different genre of music in my opinion. So reason why you think half that shit is awful is probably because you just don't like that style of music, that is fine, I hate country doesn't mean it is bad musicianship.

And no I did read your shit but you have a very difficult time conveying your argument, you flipflop more than a politician and contradict yourself left and right.
 
If it's a different genre, then yeah, i hate that genre. That style of Drake sucks. I don't like that Drake, I like Drake when he is a rapper and not an R&B singer. Apparently that makes me have shitty taste in music. I felt I've been pretty consistent. I don't see where I've contradicted myself. I don't like him as a person because he just seems, i dunno, not fun. He seems like someone that is just kind of a dick. In interviews, photos, his whole "I am media" statement outside the Heat locker room. Those things make me dislike him
 
I mean I agree with you as well I am not the biggest fan of that style of his either. But I respect that he is capable of doing that type of music, and there are a few songs of that style that I do actually enjoy. You contradicted yourself in that one post where I quoted you and you generally said his music doesn't sound good. Like do you not see how such a general statement can be misinterpreted and be contradicting to what you are actually saying now?

hilarious post, I was really bummed when I found out a day or so after that started making the rounds that it wasn't actually Ghost.
 
The fact that he made a song called "Wu Tang Forever" and then made it an auto tuned sappy ass love song makes me hate this album already.
 
I felt the same way until I found out that wu-tang recorded a bunch of verses for a remix.

Hate on drake for being soft all you want, but he puts out some damn good songs. I mean, yeah hes no kendrick or anything, but he has some bumpin shit. People like to hate on him because its easy, but I think a lot of it's unjustified. That being said, its fun as fuck.

He's definitely improved.Got some flow.

This song is definitely really good. The girl has such a good voice and definitely makes the song.

Meh about his demeanor in general.
