How much money do you make? I'm a white canadian, making $40000 a yr as a reservist. The military is paying for my education, and has paid for many other luxuries in my life. Not to mention the invaluable training and life experiences only the military could provide.

I think I would definately agree more w/ what skiinator is TRYING to say on this thread, but man you are going about it all wrong. If you want to persuade someone you can't give into lowering yourself to what they are doing by saying 'fuck this and that, and fuck you, you motherfuckers.' You had some good points about the CONFLICTS since WWII, and all they responded was the same as before, 'they were ponitless'. Just ask why were they pointless, you backed your point now hvae them back theirs. Not trying to talk down to you, I just agree w/ most of your ideas, so i'm trying to help you out.

With that said i would like to point out a few things:

-the spelling thing, yeah evryone knows what you are trying to say, but serious mispellings that aren't typos or easy mistakes make you look ignorant. Would you listen to the opinoin of a person you thought was ignorant? NO

-I'll put my favorite here for fear that most people (especially jarossam....whatever) won't be able to read this whole thing. You would rather have McCain as president and even think he has some good ideas, good, but you think all wars since WWII were ponitless, interseting. Why? Well you should know that McCain is a Vietnam vet who enlisted voluntarily (he was not drafted) and flew a fighter jet. He was also shotdown over Vietnam and was held in a POW camp, for at least 1 year and I think it was more like 2 and a half. He survived that and then wrote a book about his life and stated he never once regreted the war or his role in it. Funny you like him but think all wars since WWII are pointless, I'm guessing he would think so and would practice politics similar to those that are being practiced now.

I have more, but this is long and i have vented my frustrations w/ the massive amounts of ignorance that were being spewed all over this thread.

The U.N. and the U.S. has no given right to mediate affairs between countries who do not wish to have them mediated; it is each nation's right to declare war and wage war as they see fit, for motives of their own. That is what nations do. Besides, U.S. and U.N. involvement in Korea was not for the honorable motive of 'protecting its sovereignity'... it was to stop the spread of communism, which is an IDEALISTIC threat to our form of government. If we really believed that communism would fail, why did we fight wars to stop it from spreading? Oh, I'm sorry, not wars.... 'conflicts.' That left tens of thouseands of Americans dead. Anyway, the reason is money... 'lose' a country to communism and you lose a trading partner, you lose influence over their political and economic systems.

Once again I will state that New Zealand has the most rugged and unfriendly coastline in the entire world. It would be absolutley impossible for us to defend our country. Given our tiny population and our large land mass we have a tiny armed forces that wouldn't do a thing to an invading army. They could just march on in and take over if they really could be bothered. Our only hope of defense is in gurella warfare.
