Does anyone want skiers and snowboarders to be in harmony?

but in all reality I don't give a shit if someone snowboards, and it seems no one else at my hill aside from the occasional asshole gaper gives a shit about either.

 
I snowboarded for almost 7 years, even though I've been skiing since near-birth.

I don't understand the disparity. A lot of us used to be/are snowboarders.
 
i work with both pro skiers and snowboardersto say that the hatred is for 14 year olds and 40 year olds is a lie.

i showed my snowboard friends the real ski fi edits and they couldn't stop laughing/hating

i posted an edit two days ago of justin norman, a snowboarder, and some of the 1st comments were hatred towards skiing.

are you guys really telling me, there is no hate between the two? really?

 
I have no beef with snowboarders as long as they know how to snowboard. Kids who sit on their ass all day and can't make a toeside turn shouldn't be allowed in the park. Same with all those fuckers that wash out lips and landings.

 
i used to snowboard and i have several friends who snowboard. The only difference is that snowboarders have one piece of wood, and skiers have two pieces of wood.....and the culture.

i support snowboarders and skiers shredding in peace together

But I too see hate from time to time, I don't get it, especially when they bring up history (never really affected the majority of us). I enjoy watching snowboard vids and I find some of the stuff a refreshing view/ in some cases more creative especially in the bc/ big mountain.

The only time I hate is when someone rests their board on my skis while going up the chair.
 
I'm upset if the snowboarders don't show up for the day. Thankfully the few skiers i ride with all have a board orientated mentality.

Are they bacon and eggs in that they're completely different and oppose each other or that they go side by side.
 
Not sure if it is an east coast snowboarder punk thing to do but there will be 7 boarders riding together in a line not giving a shit about anyone in their and have 0 patience and 0 respect. I just try to act like they are not there and ski my line as planned..
 
I don't have anythng against snowboarders, but I'm not sure if I like the skinny jean snowpant style
 
I wish it was. I mainly ski but i've picked up snowboarding a bit because the style and how sick it is.

I like the way the snowboard industry is then the ski industry. More film orientated then comp jocks. You see WAAAAY more little crews putting in time and sending out full movies in the summer/fall for people to get stoked on for the coming season. Most free as well. Though people hate, they are doing it right and we need that. Snowboarders are out there with the same passion we have.

Also don't say the hate is on the snowboard side, skiers chirp pretty hard.

The amount of little joey skiers is higher a lot of places. Look at me climb up the take off and then roll down it and stand on the landing!

There are a ton of gapers on both sides of the spectrum. Honestly would be down if not of them came through the parks
 
idk man, the only other person i know that likes to be on the mountain as much as me is my best friend and he snowboards. went out to Utah with him this past winter as well, so pretty much we're always riding together and having a good time. i completely agree with you though that the hate seems to be even stronger all of a sudden
 
At Killington the other day, I saw a snowboarder's crew can with huge white letters on the side that read "#sprayskiers" I mean, c'mon!!!!!!
 
Riding with snowboarders definitely shows off a different way of looking at features and is inspiring to try different creative tricks. Namely, brings a fun skate style to the table. We're all out there to slide snow with our friends and have a good ol' time. There are asshole skiers as well as snowboarers, and gapers on both sides as well.

It DOES suck waiting at the top for the boarder bros to strap in.
 
If you really think this, then stop being a hippy. Get out off your hippy van and start doing real drugs like cocaine, pussy. Maybe then you realize that snowboarders are the enemy.

maybe you should just stop hanging out with douche bags. Late 90's early '00 I experienced hate, sure... but even in my later years of being a park rat in Ontario the hate went away. I haven't seen any legitimate hate between skiing and snowboarding for about a decade now.

At one point there were snowboard only parks and pipes places. Not sure where some people with but not sure how things can be worse now than then. I mean if you actually take spray skiers and stab snowboarders seriously maybe.

Generally the only people who hate are children, gapers, and douchebags, and I choose not to ride with those groups.

srsly tho, i've snowboarded a few times and it is quite cool how easy it is to jib around and hit rails. I actually like snowboarding, its just it seems that the mentality of most snowboarders is the same, always hating on everything else, and spending way too much time trying to look gansta instead of having a good time with skiers...Pretty much every encounter i've had with snowboarders, in the lift line or in the park, they always manage to piss me off...

And lets be honest, skiing has so much more grabs and different style possibilities...xD
 
I find it's the people who only go like 3-7 times a year that hate the most. I always like to say that if you hate on the other sport then you aren't a skier/snowboarder. You ski/snowboard but you aren't one. Real skiers/snowboarders understand that the sports are different but we still all share the passion for snow and the mountains.
