False, I had a 2wd with snow tires last winter and passed a lot of stuck SUVs. Both is definitely the way to go though

Not true. My first 3 seasons in Oregon I drove a RWD car with snow tires. I see AWD cars without them spinning all the time. It's an epidemic on Hood.

Tires make so much difference. Generally, FWD > RWD. However, RWD is significantly enhanced with weight over the rear. I used to rock a 1980 528i BMW with 300lbs of sand in the back on snow tires and it was the JAM. It's why old VW Bugs from the 70's were good in the snow too. (the engine was over the rear axel)

Balanced weight is why I cannot wait to get my 2023 VW id4 PRO... The Rav4 Hybrid I have now (with snow tires) is pretty good though

When I lived in 4 seasons weather - always, that was the law actually(some cases with spikes), now all seasons on AWD and 4 chains in the trunk, however winter tires make huge improvement on any wheel drive

Mostly in 4corners. Epic automotive did my timing belt for the cheapest by far and did a great job, no issues. I take it there mostly.

Also the Exxon off college has been good, and they are so close to me

toms alignment was cool too, eagle tire was trying to replace my whole steering rack and tie rods, but toms said all it needed was outer and bushings.

It's true you can't beat chains. I wish I had a photo from when we decided to test out chains on an old

honda civic hatchback, my first car at 16yrs old. We rallied the whip with kids hanging on the roof rails, two snowboarders getting towed on rope, driving on snowmobile trails in Ossipee NH. We only had to dig her out a couple times, but they surely worked!

I drive in rwd most of the time because driving in 4wd is pretty rough on your drive train if the traction is high enough while turning and it consumes a lot more gas. It drastically affects my turning radius and makes sliding more unpredictable. If it's kinda slick, I'll start in 4wd then shift to rear when I shift into 2nd gear. If I'm in 4wd the whole time, conditions have to be fucked

No chance of stopping without snow tires. AWD helps you get up hills sure but it does nothing for braking. If you have shit tires you're gonna slide.

Where in the world are you all driving? I grew up driving in Alaska and Maine and now live in Colorado and have never in my life owned snow tires.

All seasons + AWD is perfectly fine.
