well schlopy almost landed a 1980 so we might be seeing a bit more progression towards higher technicality (either an extra rotation or an extra flip) but I'd imagine athletes will be asking for a bit more air time. Jumps can only get so much bigger (there are limits to the human body) and will need to get steeper angles moreso than longer gaps. I'll admit it was incredible to see big air last night but I think even Douglas found himself thinking about how close it was to ariels. Little things like stance on the landing were having huge impacts on score, and as stylish as say Harlaut's rodeo 7 was it was all about the number of rotations you did on whatever axis you are spinning on.
To get some idea of what is left to be done in big air we can just look at ariels, throw off axis rotations, switch stance, grabs and butters/hand-drags/carves/etc.
Arielists do tricks like double-full,full,double-full which would translate to triple 2880 the way that we count flips as spins.
