De-tuning edges

I went to my shop to get my skis mounted, waxed, and I asked the guy if he would de-tune my edges. Is there any way you can tell if your edges are de-tunded?

he probally just detuned the tips and tails so they dont catch on the lips of jumps

Stupid? Do you know what you are talking about? ALL SKIS, even race skis detune the tips and tails if they have them.

They used to detune tips and tails before skis had side cuts. When they added side cuts your supposed to tune from tip to tail.

As far as detuning, I would never spend money on it. Grab a gummy (sp?) stone and do it yourself.
