How many Dads we have here on NS?! Ive been on NS since the beginning and Im a dad of 2 now so I figure there has to be some more dads out there on NS.

Im not sure if a thread similar to this exists but if you're dad share stories, pics, videos, tips on teaching little kids(its not always easy), etc! Heck if you are still out there rippin and having fun, share your content too! It isnt easy making it to the slopes with all of lifes responisibilities so lets have some fun and share the fun of being a dad that skis! I'll go first:

Dad of 2 awesome girls signing in. One is 5 and the other is 2 and I want to get my older one to start skiing this year. She loves to watch ski edits, especially the Faction girls edits. This was from a few years ago when I skated around the resort and went down the magic carpet run with my girl in my front carrier:

Love it man!

Expecting one this year. Can’t wait to hopefully share my love of skiing with her and that she doesn’t absolutely hate it which would crush my soul

there is nothing more satisfying than to watch your kids grow up and mature on and off the hill. the time spent on the lift has been a great time to talk and listen and learn about what makes each kid tick. I wouldn’t trade dad/daughter ski days for anything.

I got at least like five chicks pregnant my freshmen year in college but I blocked the girls numbers and never met the kids

It is by design … no coincidences ?

Got a little six year old ripper cruising with me most days. Littlest is 8 months and he loves watching his big bro ski. Still lap the park myself, just not as hard or as often. Will still toss a backflip or a flatspin every once in a while despite the fact I'm pushing 40... and am a mediocre park skier at best. Love this sport and sharing it with others is the best.

I'm 38, dad of 4, still on NS daily! Mike, I watched you film some heavy hits at 7 Springs back in maybe '11 when I lived in Pittsburgh. Last week I had a proud dad moment when the lift lines at Snoqualmie were long and the kids decided to hike the park for a couple of hours. I'm raising park rats!

I am a dad of two awesome freestyle ski kids a boy and a girl skiing for team Alberta. I have spent sometime in emergency rooms and on the phone when the boy crashed in Saas this fall. To which was the scariest not being there. Lesson learned is chaperone the Saas trip next time. I love this sport and sit on two boards for freestyle skiing in Alberta. I also was the president of a small club for 4 years. I would not trade this life for anything.

We just had ours in October of last year. After I read to him at bedtime I make sure to include a short ski edit to subliminally train him :) Good luck on your expectant child, its a wild ride!

Just about to hit 20 years on NS, dad of a 4 year old and almost 9 month old. Been brainwashing both since the beginning, showing edits, and putting them on my back skinning, doing very low angle backcountry when they fit in a pack. Got the older one on the lifts for the first time last year when she was three, after a couple of years of backyard skiing. Still throw the body around when I can, but too busy to ski as much as back in the day.

I have a 3-year-old with another on the way at the end of this month. Pretty stoked to be getting the little guy up skiing about once a week this season:)

Congratulations and thank you! When you thinking about taking little man to the hill

for the first time?

We need more wholesome content like this on NS

Having a skier gf means our future kids will be brainwashed as well

All my friends from racing/free ride started taking the little tykes up around 3/4. I’m going to give it a shot around 3 and if he takes to it. He’s already quite physically active and vocal given his age and slightly premature birth (3 weeks early) so I’m optimistic! Congrats again! We need to out-populate non-skiers.

it's kind of hard to see these posts, as my son would have just been turning one.

God bless all your children

I was originally thinking around 3 but I’ve seen kids younger than that at my hill having fun with mom and dad so I guess like everything else, each child is different! Thinking about taking her up there when she’s around 1 and just having her strapped to my chest lapping the bunny hill at 4mph…

Little guy isn’t even 2 yet, and he’s already shredding the bunny hill.

Mega proud ski dad, it’s just something else taking him out, and heading him laugh as we slide down, then asking to go right back up.

learning to ski at my home hill is something too, same place where I laid my first turns when I was 2.

Got two girls, 15 and 13. They've only been skiing for about 5 years now but love it (problem with living in UK and having a wife who was originally a non skier).

They love skiing, although we missed out last year due to pandemic and France was cancelled at Christmas due to covid rules at the last minute. We've got a ski trip in Feb to Verbier and they are looking at doing more off piste with me this time. It's been great to watch them go from snowploughing eveerything the first year with their bendy knees, to having pretty decent techniques and a lot of tools to use, cruising blacks and starting to get into the offpiste and freeride.

Pictures are off the whole group we often go with's kids at Folie Douce for some apres, and then me and the kids coming out of Grand Couloir in Courchevel in fresh POW - probably my proudest moment of their skiing so far.......

This is goals right here. When did he start?

Dad of 3 here. 22,17 and 3. Yes, quite crazy. Older 2 kids and mom ride snowboards(it’s cooler they say, lol). I’m the only skier at the moment but hope to get our 3 year old out on skis later this season. He likes to watch ski edits and Traveling Circus episodes with me. Getting tougher to get out as a family as my career has taken me across seas for a few years and the older kids wanted to stay in Utah due to schooling which is understandable. Hope to get back to the states and make some turns as a family again next season. Great thread and glad to add my post to it.
