Dad wants to kick me out for the most redic reason

i mod my car for myself to make it handle better and make it faster because i enjoy driving, not to impress anyone really. i'd take a tuned sleeper over a factory 350 hp car any day.
 
You should be saving some of that money for the shitty WRX transmission you're probably going to end up destroying.
I have two friends who own WRX's and both of them destroyed their transmissions by launching there car all the time racing.
 
yea my dad contridicts himself all the time too like that, its annoying. but yea hes kinda right about it being a waste of money, you will soon realize that its pretty pointless in this day and age unless you are like REALLY into cars, or thinking of that as a career. You wont even want all those extraneous accessories a few years down the road, I mean if you are repairing something that isnt working as well as it could, thats ok. i dunno, just my words
 
i'd rather have a place to live than a "sick nasty car"... maybe i'm just retarded, though. save your money, get a place to live, THEN do stupid things with your money. take care of the shit that's ACTUALLY important first.

oh, sorry, i missed that....

but the car i want, either a Challenger or 'Cuda with a hemi in it... will get close to 450 to the wheels stock straight the way it came from the factory... and then i could add the blower/supercharger and everything else and get over 500 and upwards of 600.
 
jealous, my car put out 125 horsepower the way it came from the factory.. now after about 15 years of slow decay, i'm sure its doing a lot better... hahahahha sick.
 
my dad came up with a really entertaining idea to do to a car.

get a Boss mustang, the big one... and drop the biggest hemi we can find in its engine compartment after some modification to the engine compartment.... piss the Chrysler and Ford people off at the same time.

mopar fans dont get along with ford fans or chevy fans... if you want to piss anyone off you start combining parts from each company.
 
oh.. side note: if you want my engine you can have it in a few years. if you put that in the stang, then it'll piss EVERYONE off, including yourself

eh nice for going in a straight line. i guess i'm just not really into the drag scene. i'd rather have an awesome handling car putting out 300 something whp. either way gotta appreciate both of em haha.
 
Aside from the fact that I never commented that not going to college specifically was irresponsible. Trade school is an EXCELLENT choice for some.

What I meant though is that NOT being in and living with your parents while dumping money into a depreciable assett is irresponsible.

yeah, but ive done this before with a hemi roadrunner with slipshifter (no need to clutch) in a road race course race against a friend of mine in his Prelude (he actually worked on it a lot...) he would naturally get ahead in the turns but if i could stay within 20 feet of him i would be able to get in front of him. managed to beat him by over a car length on the final straight away.
 
I did pretty close to the same thing as you when I was 18. I had a '91 chevy truck and a wad of cash from grad. I never had the chance at taking a shop class at my school and really wanted to learn about vehicles. Stripped the whole thing, researched and then rebuilt it from ground up. Built a motor with the help of my friends dad, rebuilt the tranny, suspension, paint, etc. Then I drove it for a year and sold it for about half of what I had into it. Was it a good investment? Financially yes and no. I lost money on the vehicle itself, however I learned so much about vehicles that I have literally brought my vehicle in for repairs twice in 7 years because I have fixed everything myself. I know I have saved much more than the 3 G's I put into the truck because of the mechanics I learned.

Since this time I have also been much more aware of making better financial decisions with my vehicles. Shop for a sweet deal, drive it for a year, sell it for what I bought it for, repeat.

agreed. if people dont liek the looks of my car ill just pop the hood. way rather have the nice engine cuz its cheaper to fix the body then the engine. and also agreed on trucks. people who drop them look stupid to me but thats just my opinion. i put dual pipes on got cold air intake and might get a lift with tires for offroading. already got a decent engine. 5.7 L V8 350. then i might buy an old 72 challenger that is completely stripped except the engine but its in bad shape too but i just want it to be able to fix up when i get some extra cash. project car. its about 1500. and my parents are cool with that. thats about 3 to 4 g's on all that shit and then just save the rest. plus im makin about 2 g a month in the summer so they dont mind if i spend some.
