If your going purely for skiing you can find better options, but CU is by no means a bad option.  Getting into the mountains during storms can just be insane at times on I70, you will become accustomed to spending 2-4 additional stuck in traffic from time to time.  But there are plenty of other skiers/boarders around obviously, boulder freeride is alot of fun and good way to meet fellow riders, the boulder is always fun (no matter how overpopulated with tools is can be), and is difficult to find bad looking chicks.  So, again, pure skiing theres better option with better access, good skiing in a great town with a respectable degree, go boulder.
