CU at Boulder?

I'm a junior in high school at Big Bear, CA and I'm wondering if CU at Boulder would be a good ski college choice. Is it a good choice?

There is a lot of douche bags in boulder but then again there are some cool people. but the douche to cool ratio is sub-par.

If your going purely for skiing you can find better options, but CU is by no means a bad option. Getting into the mountains during storms can just be insane at times on I70, you will become accustomed to spending 2-4 additional stuck in traffic from time to time. But there are plenty of other skiers/boarders around obviously, boulder freeride is alot of fun and good way to meet fellow riders, the boulder is always fun (no matter how overpopulated with tools is can be), and is difficult to find bad looking chicks. So, again, pure skiing theres better option with better access, good skiing in a great town with a respectable degree, go boulder.

University of Utah is another choice if you want great skiing(much less party atmosphere though), also with the Western University Exchange it will be around $20K a year cheaper than CU at Boulder

boulder, as in the area of boulder, is nice, but the people are some of the worst people ive ever seen, super snobby douchey stuck up, rich hippies. some people are ok, but not many, the only people ive met who think the people are alright, are the exact type of people that make boulder suck ass.

Don't really agree with this, as a whole town Boulder has tons of fun, outdoorsy, nice people. Now if you are just talking about the school there are a good amount of assholes, but thats like any school really, CSU, DU, UNC all have their share.

CU boulder is an amazing school, kick ass summers, and fucking awesome winters, its just one giant fucking party. 1 hour 30 minutes from breck and keyston around, eldora 25 minutes, a basin 30-45 mins. this will be the best discision you will ever make

check your meter...

apart from being literally in the mountains it's the number 1 party school in the country. Obviously it isn't boring and shitty. durrrr.

spent the weekend at CU, shit was dope. Campus is really nice, lots of outdoor shit to do, climbing the flatirons if you're into that, floating the Boulder Creek in the summer. The hill has lots of parties and the girls are bomb. If you can afford that shit definitely go

take a year off and live/work in breck, take an online class or two at CMC, get instate tuition at CU, go in the fall and summer instead of fall and spring, ski 100 days a year, rejoice

maybe if you didnt suck ass at sarcasm he wouldve been able to tell.

Im applying in like 2 months to Boulder early action...December 15 anyone? Somewhere around there. It's pretty much between Denver and Boulder for me to be honest, and once I factor in costs, vibe, and academic shit im going to almost certainly choose Boulder. Im also feeling good about getting in 3.6 gpa from a very good high school with lots of extra fill in bull shit is probably going to help me in acceptance. But I have some friends that go there now, they all love it.

you are good then. i came from a good hs with a 3.2, 30 ACT, 1750 SAT and no major extra stuff that they want, plus a suspension, and got in no problem

CU is dope but you have to know what your getting into. I went there and had a ton of fun but since its such a big school people can be pretty shallow. There are cool people but in general there are lot of snobs and posers that just get shit faced all the time. What others have said about I-70 is def true, by the time you graduate you will have some horror stories and its usually at least 2 hours each way. There are alot pro skiers out there too, I lived in the same dorm as Nick Martini and ended up in a group project with Matt Walker for my Entrepreneurship class. The trick is to find a cool group of people who are committed to skiing and not drinking all the time. Get you green card too, its dope as shit to ride the first chair of the day with a 420 sucker in your mouth. PM me if you need any advice etc.

this.

not taking a year and bumming was one of my only regrets of life. But now I live, work, and ski in NW Montana. not too shabby.

cu at boulder is good but university of utah is the best for wanting to ski in college. They have a ton of mountains about 45 min away from campus.
