Alright, so you kids hate the "po-po." cool. awsome. but i beg you to take a second and think of what their job is like. they run the risk of people killing them every day, that is a part of their job. Comon, lets say your a police officer. you pull over a car, youve had a long day, and your near the end of your fuse. you walk up to that car you pulled over. you have no idea if this is a nice guy with a wife and kids or a drug dealer who is about to kill you. you dont know anything about this person, nor do you care. it is not your job to understand that they have had a hard day, you have had one too, chances are yours was a touch more stressful. They broke the law, knowingly. they get a ticket, thats thier job.

Now if experience a cop who is being a tad short tempered, remember that they are people too. they have good days and bad days. they have stresses at home, bills to pay. true, they shouldnt take their anger out on you. but think about it, when your having a bad day, you cant help but be a bit of a dick.

Now, lets start to think what the world would be like without the "po-po" that so rudely wreck your fun when all you were doing was breaking the law. Now when someone breaks into YOUR house, takes your stereo and posessions, your screwed. S.O.L. and you better beleive that without any risk of going to jail there would be a hell of a lot more theft. Someone jumps you on the street, kicks your ass, breaks your ribs, there is nothing you can do but hope that kid enjoys your ipod as much as you did.

you cannot solve those types of problems on your own. as much as you would like to, you cannot.

so, i realize this has been pretty much just been my thoughts and opinions thrown onto the internet without very much planning or anything like that, but put yourself in their shoes. they dont have an easy job. sure, some of them get out of hand, and dont do their job very well. but hey, some people who work at electronic stores steal shit. every job has an odd fuckup. thats a given. in addition, your breaking up a fight, or trying to stop some punk ass kids from breaking the law. your adrenalin is pumping. you think this kid is going to punch you in the face, maybe stab you. are you going to wait for him to do it? yeah right.

So in conclusion, if you are one of those mindless fools who are on the "fuck the police" bandwaggon are short sighted idiots. you and fiddy should go pop some more caps in asses or whatever it is you "thugs" do. Cops have hard jobs. face it.
 
Thanks dude. I wanted to say something regarding this subject too. But you beat me to it. The kid who posted the video of the cops getting their asses beat really pissed me off.

Yes... sometimes cops cross the line. But seriously, these guys go out every day and put their necks on the line... for what? A paycheck? well sure. But they're the ones the come and save your neck anytime there is a problem and you need help.

Anarchy doesn't work. Sorry.
 
And to add to this, for all of you bitching about excessive force, how many times has a cop beat you up without reason? Just because you see a few videos online of bad cops doesn't mean that that's the norm.
 
The amount of corrupt cops far outweighs the amount of so called "good" cops. You read on a regular basis in the newspaper about how another sheriff was found to be a member of a drug ring etc. Look it up for yourself, just type, sheriff & drug ring in google. Honestly, I can't think of one way a cop has ever truly made my life better. I've had shit stolen, never to be seen again. They treat Marijuana like its a fucking radioactive poison in which no human being should ever be in contact with. If they ever find any on you, they will make you feel like the scum of the earth because you have peices of a plant on you. Yes it is illegal, but cops live for busting people with ganja. They could focus on something worthwhile, but no, its easier for them to just try to find ganja smokers because more people do it so its easier to bust them.
 
Just because you hear about the bad stuff doesn't mean it outweighs the positive - it's like anything else; if it's normal and working, why report on it? That'd be boring.

They treat drugs as illegal because that's what the gov't decided, NOT them. They follow the rules and laws that were made by other people.

I think the basic point of your rant is flawed, that because cops have a high stress job it gives them an excuse to be dicks, but i think that its just the opposite, i think that because cops have such a high level of power and responsibility they need to have better control over themselves then that.
 
yeah no shit cops have a tough job. I pay them mad respect for what they do for us everyday. I also agree with just about everything you've said so far timmi. it's just too bad theres so many uneducated, poorly spoken, know it all kids these days.

but regarding that soccer video i dont feel that cop was just doing his job, i am confident that beating the guy over the head with a baton was just a little extreme, and could have been easily avioded.
 
i don't like them. they make me nervous even when i'm not doing anything wrong. but this is the upside, they also make people committing the crimes nervous. with me saying i don't like them, i cant say i don't respect them. they do a good thing most of the time and are necessary for society. i don't like the fact that young kids are singled out by police officers and are treated differently

simply by the fact that a 30-40 yr old woman goin 20 over the speed limit has a less chance of being pulled over than a kid goin 5-10 over. my mom flies by cops all day and has never gotten pulled over but i've been pulled over 4 times, and had my car searched twice. all to no avail because i don't smoke weed. (or at least keep it in my car)

i think cops are above the law and that is a dangerous thing in itself. knowing in the back of your mind that you will never get a speeding ticket becuase of (police courtesy) or you will ALWAYS be believed over any normal citizen is not a good thing at all

for every cop who's a total dick there are hundreds that are ethical and wonderful people. i can never stand the threads about how cops are all a bunch of fags. kids don't respect those who are their to serve and protect them, it's ridiculous.
 
dude, in any emergency, unless a cop was right there to see it, its going to take them at least 15-20 minutes to get there to help you. So you just going to sit there and wait for them to show up while you have an emergency on your plate? Wake the fuck up and take matters into your own hands.

So do you call the cops on your neighbor because his dog shit on your lawn? See you are the crazy one talking about shooting someone because his dog shit on your grass. Do you need a cop to take care of the situation for you so you dont shoot him or??? Why dont you try a peaceful method and talk to your neighbor and ask him to fix the situation? Or like I said, pick up all the dog shit and then empty it on his porch. Do something yourself for a change.

i understand that their job is very risky and they put their lives on the line, but around here, in the wealthy suburbs of cincinnati, if you get pulled over for any minor traffic violation and the cop see's that you are a teenager and its past 10 pm they will call 2 cars for backup and a drug team to come search your car, its just fucking ridiculous. There are good cops that i respect, but around here the majority of them are complete assholes and picked their profession so they could fuck people over

I use to like the po, and i know why they are there and understand that they have one of the shittiest jobs out there. However I still do not agree with a bunch of thier policing polices, more so what thier funds go towards. Liek the fucking cops here rip along the beaches looking for people drinking booze. I mean common, if no one is calling and complaing there is no reason to be there, it broad day light, nothing is getting out of hand, and noone is disrupting anyones else enjoyment. They are just trying to give out fines and shit for no apparent reason, More fund should go into breaking down gangs and shit instead of patrolling the general public when nothing is happening. I mean even on the family beaches these cops rip past on thier loud atv's hasseling anyone with a drink. and 80% of the time it is just a mom and dad with liek 2 beers each relaxing at the beach. Its just plain stupid.

My experience with cops:

Busted party #1 - cop came because the parents called the cops - I didn't get in trouble because I hadn't been drinking. They were nice and let me head out with no trouble.

Busted party #2 - idiot kids at the party parked like douchebags and were blocking a street so the cops came up to ask us to move cars, another idiot kid saw the cop, I walked over to the cruiser, sat on the curb, waited for the cops to get back, said "Can I take a breathalizer so I can go home" the dude complied, and then offered to drive me back to my house if I didn't want to walk.

Pulled over - going 19 over, called the cop the next day, asked if I could meet with him, he said yes. I went in, told him that I needed my car (3 pts on a junior's license means no license for 3 months) for mentoring and volunteering (both true) and he dropped the points because "I had the balls to come in."

Pulled over #2 - no headlights in downtown Burlington - didn't notice because it was lit up pretty well. I was bringing kids back from the liquor store, cop walked up, saw a bottle of something, chuckled, asked where I was going. Said I was heading back to my fraternity house and he said "Oh awesome dude, what fraternity?" and then said "have a good night, have fun."

you see? not all cops are complete assholes. you cannot generalize because your experience with a few has been bad, or if you've heard bad stories about them. you will hear nothing but bad stories, because who's going to say "hey i ran into this really nice cop...". no, you'll always hear "fuck the po this cop was a dick!" so don't generalize. go ahead and hate the bad ones that you've run into or heard about, but don't just assume that they're all like that.
 
This is one of the most idiotic statements I've ever heard. Do you understand how google works? If you type "white dude fucking a horse" into google, that's what's gonna show up. Does that mean all white dudes or even the majority of white dudes fuck horses? Obviously not.

Also, while you can disagree with Police conduct and policies etc, saying "I can't think of any way police have ever improved my life" loses you any and all credibility. Do you really have have that much faith in human nature? Do you not see the state of the world around us? We are fucking each other over left and right, and the future looks pretty grim for humanity at this rate. There are major problems with the police in the US, and probably every other country in the world, but I don't think removing them entirely is a legitimate option. You are probably lucky enough to live in a place with a low rate of violent crime etc, but can you imagine having someone you love murdered or raped? Until you really understand what that would mean, shut the fuck up kid.
 
nah small town cops are wack and all dickheads i can see where ur coming from with like cops in cities and even larger towns but smalltown cops just shit on kids every day theres no risk of anyone killing them or that bs u have to look at wat kind of cops the majority of kids on newschoolers are dealing with and then u will see y most people hate cops and most cops are not like the cops on tv their deuschebag college dropout former jocks
 
Your one dumb cunt i'll give you that. So if we based good vs. bad on what we heard in the media then the world would be going to hell in a hand basket. That would mean not only are most cops corrupt, but ever Muslim wants to blow people up, all blacks want to shoot other blacks, latino's just wanna sell drugs and white people just wanna rape little kids. Don't make assumptions and statistics up from the media because only the bad makes the news, not the good.
