Cliff Jumping/ Rope Swings

i have been to the quarry in VT

my city took down the rope near me because some kid went over the dam that produced the swimming hole

the dam is only about a 10 foot fall. the dam was made to stop water for the city water supply. if that makes sense

idk how big the cliff is at huntington gorge, but i jumped that a few times, sketchy landing, real tight with all the rocks around

How many people have done that ropeswing on the little tiny lake over by emerald in Whistler?

Backflip off of a 45 footer. That's the biggest I've done while flipping. I'm gonna double a bridge near my friends house this summer. So pumped.

Here's a sick rope swing we did last year. It was 40-50, so it was small enough to do stuff off of...

Here's a nice cliff I did last year. I don't know exactly how big it was, but it was a pretty nice drop. 65ish I'd say...

Cliff jumping is the tits.

ive jumped some really small stuff, but i was wondering how you guys measure the depth of the water to make sure its deep enough. i mean like, is there some sort of technique you use?

Biggest I've jumped is on the jefferson river here, in june its around 50ft and in august (when you really cant float anymore) its about 70ft. I've jumped it around 60ish, i was drunk as hell its so fun.

Get in the water and scope it out before you jump. Dive down, see if there's debris, get a feel for how deep it is, and then huck your meat!

I'm not trying to be a dick, I'm just trying to get everyone on the same page. People tend to overestimate cliffs by a lot. BTW that jump is just shy of 50 feet, I measured it.

i've driven that many times. where on it there don't seem to be that many big ones. i know there are some by the seven sacred pools which are fun cause there small. did u jump of the bridge that is right next to that?

In the interior of BC there's a huge lake called Shuswap. In the middle of it there's a huge Island you can hike. on one side of it there is a cliff jumping area. I grew up jumping since I was about 10. There are several different heights ranging from 3 feet to 50. We usually jump from the 30 as the hike up is pretty sketchy. To get the the 50 its even sketchier, and the cliff sticks out more so you really have to time things and jump far if you hit the high one.

Most guys usually get up there and have to drink a bunch before they jump. There's been some accidents too. One guy did backflips off the 50, and timed it wrong once, landing on his back and broke his voicebox and can hardly speak anymore.

what do you mean timed it wrong? there isnt any tide you have to worry about and the water beneath that 50 footer is bottomless.

just outside of invermere there is a cliff jumping place classed twim lakes. cliffs range from 10-90+. jumping the 90 is insane. you cant see where your going to land because the cliff rolls, so as you run and jump off this thing you are way out from the edge when you see where exactly in the water your going to land. its crazy. ill try and get a pic.

He timed his backflip rotation wrong.. halfway down it curves out a bit before curving back in. Apparently he has to do a super slow rotation with his body to get it timed right... but i guess he was too slow? Not entirely sure, but as he was doing the flips again, we were chatting to his friend who told us about it.

Has anyone from Whistler/Vancouver hit the cliffs at Brohm Lake? If your driving up to whistler some day in the summer check it out. Its just outside of squamish. Super clear water, but usaully pretty cold. Theres some nice cliffs there and a rope swing. The biggest one ive done is called the 60 but I have no idea if its actaully 60 feet.

frye's leap on sebago. its pretty crazy, to jump from the top you need to run pretty damn fast. the water is like 200 feet deep right at the bottom of it.

naw, the current takes you faast for a good 100 meters, and you have a short time to climb out before you go over this waterfall. which... we jumped into from the cliff at the top left. 25 feet i'd say.

Joel, how the heck did you know that you could jump into that water? I mean, i know the water is filled with air, so you're good to go in terms of impact and drowning, but weren't there some massive boulders in there?

Yeah, I dunno, I stumbled upon that spot and saw locals doing it. Then of course my Mom asked me the usual, "if they jumped off a bridge, would you?" Or something along those lines. Uhh, yea, I would?

Anyhow, talk to people who know the place, and let them jump first. If they don't die, you're set for a good sesh.

Jeezus shit lanks, that has gotta be insane and adrenaline pumping. That'd be so sketchy landing in the huge rapids, especially if you couldn't swim out in time.
