Christian douchebags

This was posted on Reddit by a friend of the kid who died. How can anyone who believes in a religion do this? I know countless athiests who would never, EVER, think of posting something like this on a christians wall. What makes them think their blind faith makes it okay to say things like this?

Whatever. Karma will come around a royally fuck that guy to the point where his fictionary god won't be there to save him and maybe even put him in the ground so he can finally see that when you're dead, you're just a rotting corpse in a hole. That's that.

IT makes me sad that so many people believe in something simply because they were told it since they were 2 and they were gonna go to hell if they didn't.

That's a great way to promote knowledge. Brainwash you before you have the chance to think then make sure you know that you're going to burn forever if you open your mind.

Its like when you were told as a kid that santa claus is real. Only in this case, They stuck with it into adulthood.

For sure. IT creates quite the mind fuck to get out of it as well. Glad I made it out. I went on a quest for knowledge and truth. IF I cam back to christianity then that would be real to me instead of something I was told when I was 3. Never came back.

I dont understand the context of whatever happened, this guy wrote on a recently deceased person's wall maybe? Or what?

i think the kid was just implying that his friend went to heaven and he would see him 'there'. Still kinda a typical christian move to force there faith on others, even after death in this case, but I don't think he meant it in a bad way.

the thread title kinda implies that all christians are douchebags but clearly just this kid is (in this case). just sayin. im gonna get outta here before the inevitable shitstorm commences

Atheists are smart and decent enough to think normally and rationally. They'd never say anything like that.

Religion is just an excuse for being stupid.

i honestly dont care if any of you think religion is stupid or not, but that kid definitely doesnt represent all christians, that is just one ignorant, stupid and seriously messed up kid for posting something like that, its pretty sad that the kid who posted that calls himself a Christian

So you think Buddhism is BS? Ya fuck finding inner peace thats soooooooo stupid brooOooOOO fuck relgiogingoin

religion itself isn't bad because it gives people guidance in a life that might be aimless

the institution and preaching it hardcore is bad tho

imo

theres a lot more to peoples faith then just believing it since they were 2, but nice job categorizing an entire group of people

Ok, this has been one of the things that piss me off more than anything lately. People always generalize against christians. I am by no means religious. But generalizations makes stereotypes, and stereotypes make hate so its just it so hypocritical. I was speaking to one of the people in charge of intercultralism at my university and he said that the biggest form of discrimination at school is anti-faith. Apparently 40% of students will report belonging to some form of religion, but only 20% will admit it in public.

I hate when anyone preaches in a condescending way, anyone who goes on about how religion is like santa clause is no better than the person who says that people who don't accept christ are going to hell. Don't judge other peoples choices, if it makes some person who is on death's bed feel good about themselves, then who the fuck cares?

Your incident was one douche bag who is christian, if it were a black person you wouldn't say 'black douche bags' And to be honest his comment wasn't that rude, it was his way to come to terms with losing a friend. People say much more bizzare stuff when stressed. I agree it wasn't totally appropriate but its not like he wrote " you're going to hell ya damn atheist."

I think people are trying to criticise the concept of Christianity and the things it tends to make people believe rather than individual christians.

but even so, look at the fundamentals of christianity, is it really that bad? People have taken it so far out of context and thats the problem. Same with anything extremists are problematic, whether is be christian, islam, democratic, socialist. There are stupid christians out there, but if you take the time to go over the basic concepts its nothing that bad, extreme conservatives have unfortunately misrepresented it.

so many people have been reposting from reddit recently...

/r/atheism and /r/christianity is gay as hell.

Honestly there really isn't for the majority.

Taught it for years before the time where you had the ability to reason, not supposed to question it, and you find security and meaning in it.

ha. Common man give people more credit than that. There are some things on earth that will always be unexplained, you don't need to have scientific reasoning for everything. You may or may not be spiritual but there certainly are things on this earth that are nothing short of a miracle, have no scientific logic and to some give much needed guidance.

I didn't in any way say that we can explain everything. I was just describing the average christian. An my description was actually true.

Also I'm agnostic. I'm open to be proven wrong at any point. I feel that's a much better place than the illusion of knowledge.

couldnt agree more, i feel like God (yes i am christian, bring the hate) is up there face palming right now at the things people are doing around the world.

i hate kids like this...

"I'm religious and I'm going to rub it in your face" --- FUCK U

Exactly. But hey, lets just judge an entire religion, with over 2 billion believers, off one douchebag on facebook...

Wow, I hate when people pull the super condescending christian card, makes the rest of us look bad.

but atheism says nothing about rubbing it other peoples faces... I'm pretty sure christians arn't supposed to partake in that according to the church

oh and guess what im not atheist. I'm jewish and my religion is based off rules and regulations, not some guy who rose from the dead that everyone is waiting for again.

I mean does it matter if jesus existed? jews and christians both believe in a coming messiah, religion is about uniting, not fighting.

woooahhh there, hold up guy. look at what you said; paraphrased, "judaism is better, cause instead of a prophet we go straight from god". nice.
