Christian douchebags

To be honest, I am a practicing Catholic and really do believe in God. I would never ever possibly say that or ever hate on a Atheist or any faith plainly because we have different realgious views. Who ever the kid is who posted that has some serious issue and is pretty much just a plain fucking asshole, but I don't think this justiftys hating on a whole religon. This is just my 2 cents I hoenstly dont wanna start shit but this is just my opinion.

Uhh no? Back in the day the Pope was the most powerful man in the world. He could literally do/say anything he wanted and the people would take it as a message from god, thats when it was all about money and control. nowadays i feel like religion, for the most part, provides people with guidance, comfort, hope, morality, etc. Of course there are the extremists that take things way too far and the people that try to shove their religion down your throat whenever possible but the vast majority isn't like that.
and this is coming from someone who has never been to church/doesn't identify with any one religion. I do however think there is something out there greater than us, a "great consciousness" or w/e you want to call it.
also, for the kids that are saying "read the bible", I'm willing to bet that the majority of religious people don't take the bible word for word as fact, but use it sort of like a guidebook.

MORAL OF THE STORY:

Believe what you want to believe in, if people want to follow your beliefs then let them. If they don't then don't try to make them. No one has the right to judge you being religious or not being religious.

lol at guidance.

"I'm willing to bet that the majority of religious people don't take the bible word for word as fact, but use it sort of like a guidebook."

This is where you're wrong.

yes

or I should probably say exagerated. Stories used to make points of how to act, live your life, etc...

I'm not saying it shouldn't be taken as stories to help you, I'm just saying it generally isn't. It would probably be better if people approached it like asaps fables or something. Learn a lesson from it but don't believe that everything really happened that way.

For some reason the majority of christians approach the bible with an all or nothing approach. That's what taught in your average church and by popular christian scholars/ speakers.

You can't pick and choose, you either believe the whole thing word for word or you don't.

^ not saying that just saying that's a common view point of it.

Kind of sad that they take it so literally yet at the same time fail miserably at the simplest things like not judging others, loving their neighbors, setting an example. Basic shit like that that shouldn't be a big deal.

I think a lot of religious people annoy me because of the way they got there. If you actually went on some sort of a quest for knowledge and thats where you ended up good for you. If you just believe it because you were told it when you were 3 or something hard difficult happened in your life and you needed someone to cling to, well that's just stupid to me.

It only really bothers me in the pushy we gotta save this person people. When they try to save me because I don't know the truth yet I actually know a hell of a lot more about the world and life in general than their ignorant selves, I get a little annoyed.
