Certain places where park shouldn't be skied

^nice entry on NS:P But ehm alps dont have that much sick parks anyway but who cares do powder in the morning and park in the afternoon!

^Tru that, powder when its fresh in da morn, and park when its soft in da afternoon, thats the way i like to do it

well, in my personal experience, kicking horse, sunshine, lake louise (even though their park is good), whitewater, and big white.

umm, i beg to differ...if you prefer the park- have at it, wherever it is

in my opinion, htat leaves the pow-pow for those of us who would rather be skiing it. if you're not enyoying it, then that's fine, i'd rather see you in the park

umm... You should be learning new stuff in the BC, THEN taking to the park. Progression does not start in the park..at least not new jumps...that is how you hurt yourself. Progression starts on the trampoline..then water ramps (if possible), then BC, LAST park. By the time you are doing the trick in the park, you should have it down pat because that is the most dangerous place to learn, where the landings are hard.

Anywhere that gets real snow, and has it for a good length of time. You guys in actual mountains have no idea how lucky you are. Our park takes less than a mintue to get down just skiing, no more than 5 to actually hit everything, and its our biggest run.

I don't know what sort of BC you do, but I would certainly prefer learning tricks off a perfectly sculpted jump before I threw them first hit off a cliff or cornice. Maybe I'm just not badass enough. And if you're referring to BC as hitting jumps into powder, I don't really consider that BC at all. That's just building a jump.

I would disagree because throwing it off a cliff or cornice is still safer than the park. This is only if it is pow pow for the landing. The park usually has incredibly hard landings. And, building a jump in the BC still counts as bc. Think about the times you have gotten hurt....they are in the park. It is the powder landings that you need to learn on. It does not matter if the jump is perfectly sculpted...you can't do the trick you are learning perfectly yet... A fall in the park is a lot worse than a fall in the BC, be it off a cliff or a jump you built.

why would we ski park?because we have no park..and because the actuall mountain is way fuckin sicker than any park

No, it really isn't safer. There are so many factors to take into consideration when you're throwing something off a cliff it makes hitting a jump look like a total joke. With a jump you have a packed takeoff, you can see about where the landing will be, and all you have to do is carry enough speed into it. If you're hitting a cliff you have to hope that the takeoff doesn't have anything that will catch on it, the snow isn't grabby, there aren't any rocks in the landing, and I could go on for quite a bit longer about it. And don't make generalizations about where I've gotten hurt before if you have no clue. I have never gotten hurt skiing park, but I've been down in the sled from hitting cliffs before. But I guess I'll have to state once again that if you want to try that switch cork 5 off a cliff the first time because it's so much safer and easier, be my guest. I'll be learning all my tricks off the perfectly predictable jumps in the terrain park.

dude no way me too. i hear the park is mad under rated, and all the pros are moving there this year to ski the park. jackson hole is the new park city!

i hate people that say this shit. Yeah they have sweet back country, and i for sure would be in the bc a lot too if i frequented any of those places...but believe it or not, park skiing is also FUN. And i ski to have fun so if you think no one should ever ski park when theres good bc then your just a tool and a fun nazi.

Jackson Hole- the entire place is a natural terrain park

Silverton- craziest terrain arround

Mount Bohemia- Crazy for Michigan

Mad River Glen
