Had a dsm. 530 awhp. Plenty of fun. Too much money keeping it running. Glad I got rid of it. Now I rip around an e46 like its worth a shit (it's not). Crv's the skimobile

What year? I'm a fan of the first generation for some reason.

I have a 2017 Taco, a 2017 Alltrack, and a '69 bug in the stable currently.

My past cars have been:

1969 Opel Kadett Wagon

1986 Toyota Van

1990 Ford Tempo

1998 Dodge Neon

1986 Audi 5000 CS Quattro

1986 BMW 325e

1974 BMW 3.0s

1981 VW Caddy

2010 Subaru WRX

2012 Toyota Tacoma

2015 VW SportWagen TDI

I think that's it...sort of an eclectic group of vehicles.

Looks good.

I agree with the sentiment. Also it's more fun to drive slow cars fast than fast cars slow. I will throw an APR chip into the AllTrack sometime though, just to get it close to stock WRX numbers, that's good enough.

I have a truck and an SUV, now I just need a sporty coupe or sedan to complete my quiver.

1972 Chevy K20 with a 4 inch lift on 35's, mild 350 SBC, and true dual 3 inch exhaust with flowmaster 40's.

2000 Toyota 4Runner SR5 with an ARB front, Rhino Rack, and an assortment of Promaxx lights

Daily an 05 Legacy Wagon, 5 speed, it hauls all my stuff. Also have a 95 240SX I drive in the summer, fun car. Once I graduate college this spring the 240 will get some much needed love!

Just put a brand new battery in her and she still won’t start!

Don’t know a ton about cars, but a friend said it’s probably the starter, is that pretty easy to fix?

It's probably easy to throw a starter in that bronco but I'd suggest going through some diagnostics/troubleshooting before throwing parts at the problem.

Did you try tapping the starter solenoid with a hammer? Did you check voltage at the starter?

What happened to it when it didn't start? Is it by chance manual?

Yes. Easier just to slap a new rebuilt starter in there than to rebuild it yourself though.

^Like this guy said do some checking to figure out if that's really what it is before you just go replacing every part.

Nice Bronco! does it crank over at all? Starters aren't too difficult to change on those trucks iirc.

Okie doke... so I tapped it didn’t work so here’s what I did, and it did the same thing as when I tried to start it with the key, so maybe not the starter...?

Don’t know why it did that

Starter sounds strong. Check for 3 things when a car doesn’t start, fuel, air, spark. It’s safe to assume it’s getting air so next steps are the check and see if it’s getting fuel or spark.

If it’s sat for a while especially with ethanol gas it’s possible the fuel filter has clogged, you could also pop a line off the fuel rail and see if it’s getting clean fuel there. When you turn the ignition on can you hear the fuel pump cycle? They’re super loud on those trucks.

For spark you could pop a plug out then while cranking the engine over and see if it’s arcing or if the plug is super fouled. Just make sure to use anti seize on the thread when replacing plugs.

I have a service manual for that truck that I don’t use any more since I sold mine. I can send that to you if you want it.

Thanks! I’ll keep ya posted! I believe I have one but I’ll check!!

Colorado emissions (aka Envirotest corp) inpectors are a fucking joke. I modified my car to run off of E85, Evap, PCV, cats all in order and wont pass because I modified the car’s stock tune...

That’s all I got. That whips thread was epicly long

Hickenpooper wants CA emissions too. I won't dive into the politics of it but emissions testing can suck the liquid panda express out of my asshole.

I feel you man.

In PA as long it doesn’t throw a code you can pass with a tune. How would the emissions tester know you have a tune? Would it be possible to dieselgate it?

Can you not just reflash the ecu/ecm back to the stock map, run a tank of rug, test, then reflash your tune?

Car is boosted so can’t just go back to stock tune. But you’re right, how can they know. My setup is CARB legal and obviously even more environmentally friendly on E85 with all emission systems in place. Emissions are just the governments way to mod police.

Lol I feel bad for all of u with emissions crap to worry about, here in Ohio we don’t even have vehicle inspections at all.

And weave through broken down rusted dilapidated shit piles of American steel to get to the slag pile you call a ski hill. I'll take emissions testing and wish we had safety inspection like most developed countries do.

I can see both sides. We don't have it here and I think the whole smog checking thing is kinda a scam industry. Also dieselgate proves it's not really the best most accurate way to go.

On the other hand it sucks to see obvious smoggers belching on down the highway.

Hopefully there will be a better way to deal with this going forward like a better test. If nothing else it'd be nice for the state police to be able to do a roadside check on people that are pumping out black and blue smoke.

I’ve driven through a few times. So many cars broken down on the side of the road compared to the surrounding states

Few of my old cars from when I lived in the UK.

FWD go karts all of em.

Bought a '71 Rolls after Bitcoin pumped. Became thoroughly addicted to the brand ever since.

Other than that. I've owned an '04 Mercury Mountaineer and a '13 Ford Focus as daily drivers. I don't give a shit about cars, their all replaceable. Almost 80% of the time you are better off buying an entirely new vehicle instead of fixing the one you have.

Yeah so that last part definitely isn’t true. Certain cars are also irreplaceable. Think you’re in the wrong thread if you believe that.

Like an Addams probe 16 maybe. But you can legit trash any year Lambo or Ferrari and there's at least 3-5 more

yeah that’s a pretty irreplaceable car if there’s 3-5 of them. Good luck actually getting one since most cars that rare are in museums or private collections so they won’t go up for sale often. Also there’s plenty of 1 off Ferrari’s like the 330-p4.

I mean most Rolls are bespoke, no 2 are alike. But still - very replaceable considering it's just a glorified BMW

Again, lots of classic rolls Royce’s that are irreplaceable. 1925 phantom round door for example. You clearly aren’t a car enthusiast.

I am, I just have my priorities straight lol. If you don't think an item is replaceable - you'll never own one.

Every car ever made will be dust in 1000 years - cars are made to love and use. Not sit and oogle over

I agree that cars are made to be driven but obviously the fact that a 250GTO sells for $50m+ reflects that sitting and ogling over cars is a very real purpose for some collectors. Cars worth preserving and restoring will still be around in 1000 years in museums.
