Haven't seen the movie, but I happened upon this interview of Michael Moore, and thought it was really interesting. I'm not a diehard Moore fan, but I really liked the way he handled himself in this interview. A lot of very valid points were made, and I definitely want to see the movie now.

It was good to see him interviewed though, because it becomes clear how stupid he really is. Blindly hates capitalism with no good reason and he has no idea how an economic system works. He wants to get rid of capitalism and replace it with democracy? I thought democracy was a political system not an economic system? Does anyone know what he means by that?
I could be off but it seems like he doesn't even know the political spectrum. When asked if he was socialist he responded that he is a hetero sexual. WTF?
So many retarded things he said from that interview but probably the DUMBEST of all:"Wall Street loves it when Americans lose jobs." or in other words the stock markets go up with the unemployment rate (he said this). This isn't true, any economist would tell you thats wrong. No idea where he got this idea from.

 
Don't get me wrong, I love the guy and his movies, but they are anything but truthful. They are so fucking biased its not even funny, just a bunch of propaganda n shit. Sicko made... well im not even gunna go into that
 
It was said someplace else, but if this idiot really TRULY hated capitalism he would have released this movie on megavideo, youtube, or vimeo not to theaters where he is going to make millions of dollars from the diehard liberals, hipster college kids, and people that think he is an idiot and want to laugh at him that go to see this movie.
 
michael moore is WAY to far left for his own good. I liked sicko, but the approach that he (and all these extremists, on the left and right) take isnt doing anything to convince their opposition of anything, and instead just reinforces the boundaries between them. people find the dumbest reasons to fight, and instead of trying to work on a common solution, they just bicker and are too stubborn to realize their positions arent doing any good.

trying to argue that capitalism is the devil isnt going to get any socialistic prinicples into effect, and his stance just makes it harder for people to accept what hes saying as true.
 
Saw it on Saturday. Enjoyed the movie a lot, pretty sad because Wilkes Barre PA is a major topic of the movie, and I live 15 minutes from there. Got a handy the whole movie though!
 
Michael Moore is financed by people who want a return on their product. Michael Moore himself said on NPR as much as he dislikes the economic system, he has to rely on companies who do the exact thing he despises. But like said if it wasn't for those studios he wouldn't be able to finance movies. He jokingly said these companies will keep giving him money to make movies as long as he actually doesn't convince anyone to vote / speak up for change.

I know where Michael Moore comes from, and I can relate to him. I've met him....got pics and all. He wants the greatest good for as many people as possible, that's how you can sum Michael up real quick

I have no argument with that. The greatest good for the greatest amount of people possible. How else should society be ran?

It is rumored Michael Moore released Sicko on bittorrent I think it was before it was even in the theaters. And sure as shit you could download it, dvd quality, on bittorrent.

You want a real bias, go turn on FOX News. Michael Moore pokes fun at America's flaws by examining other countries, and ways to do things.

If anyone is ever up skiing @ Shanty Creek (by Bellaire MI), he has a house on trout lake. You can find him around town and what not. They shop at normal grocery stores like you and I.

He drove an SUV up there last I knew.

Oh yeah another fun fact, the voice for Marge Simpson, she lives in Bellaire, MI. One of my cousins says she bumped carts with "voice of marge" in the store once and the lady made a Marge like "ahh, hmm, sorry" response back.

 
Haha. All you guys hating on Michael, you have no idea. He loves to get a rise outta people, its the basis of all his movies. He loves making people hate him. He was actually quoted saying that he is gonna take this movie all the way and a little more, just so nobody will give him the money to make another one. So yeah, he gets you.
 
maybe the reason why he is so successful with getting the word out and is hated so much is cause he has the pride to do it. instead of sitting on the internet arguing with random people he doesnt know about subjects.
 
I felt that he made a valid point in Sicko.

I mean ya its to an extreme but how is it that america is the only western democracy without free healthcare and colleges

I hate Michael Moore. It's obvious that he is ridiculously biased and skews tons of information just to make it prove his point. He uses unreliable statistics and has even made them up. He causes many people to be lead astray by his anti-American ranting. He makes millions off of the people stupid enough to believe him.

He does well for himself, but he isn't making a million off a movie.

and quit towing the party line, conservatism is dead in the united states. there are too many people that associate themselves with that party that are racists, homophobes, and generally ignorant people, that are too arrogant to realize that they dont know what the fuck their talking about.
 
he doesnt really care. hes a filmmaker. he makes films that make him money. if somebody makes a horror film and truly wants to scare people why wouldnt they upload it everywhere for free?

look how much talk there is about it just right here. he doesnt even have to market his movies

its just smart business. the message in the movies really doesnt matter
 
So we've come to the conclusion that he makes his movies to make money and shock people. It doesn't really matter what his movies are about as long as it pisses some people off enough to create controversy. He then capitalizes off of the controversy making enough to keep his fat belly growing.
Does this sound like someone who has any real ideas for policy change? No.

i would agree that he is a bit biased, but who in this world isnt? His movies may be kind of weird and extreme but he has a good point.
 
ugh i can't stand moore. before he starts criticizing ANYTHING, he needs to take a look in the mirror. seriously, hes disgusting. he makes a homeless person look classy and kept.

I haven't seen the actual movie yet, but from this he makes interesting arguments, but doesn't really provide real solid evidence or solutions for the recession problem. idk, i'm neutral on this one.
 
I couldn't agree more. With his reputation he could easily receive more views this way than in theaters
 
I think the best was his recent interview with Sean Hannity:

"So, Mr. Moore, you are a socialist?"

"I am a heterosexual"

Wait, WHAT?! Where the fuck did that come from?

Like, I realize what Michael Moore is trying to do and I can appreciate that fact. But his movies are SO one sided and the first thing you learn in a English class when learning how to right an argumentative paper you have to give both sides. Moore doesn't do that. AND, he can never answer the exact question given to him.

Michael Moore ultimately argues that the richest 1-2% are pretty damn busy getting filthy fucking rich. While America meanwhile has had stagnant wages for the working class, rising health care costs, and the cost of living has increased steadily. With no real wage increase for the other 98%.

Michael Moore argues for common sense shit. Like you only pay social security on the first $107k you make. Michael Moore advocates (and supposedly has done the math) that if you were to make all their income (aka the millions...and billions some people make beyond the first $107k) subject to taxation that starting tomorrow we would have enough money in social security to take us out in to 2080+ I believe.

Michael Moore is believe it or not fighting for everyone who isn't filthy rich. And you better believe it. You might hate taxes on your paycheck, but just think of the chump who gets paid millions and pays less in taxes then you do (percent wise). And ask yourself who here is getting the short end of the stick, who here is allowed to get ahead easier?

Michael Moore has one of the most...debatable topics on hand here. Opponents to Michael will say that he is trying to punish people for pursuing careers that pay more by taxing them more. Although we have a problem here, your american dollars are not worth shit. We are issuing debt left and right, and we need money. And with the tax revenue the 98% of the country that isn't filthy rich has...well we come up real short.

So we as a country need to decide how we should best promote capitalism while at the same time protecting the common middle class worker. How you want to protect your middle class workers...now that is the answer Michael trys to find here....and that answer is really fucking debatable based on what you project might work best.

Call me a fucking liberal. I hate taxes just as much as you, but then again I like having food that isn't tainted with e. coli, bridges that aren't collapsing, and terrorists who aren't flying planes in to our buildings. Oh wait we already have all that with our current taxes. Sounds like we need more taxes....and I say we take them from the rich. They have exploited us long enough....all for the almighty dollar
 
You do realize how hard it is to pass legislation to tax the rich right? Cause if we do that means all the politicians would also be taxed more and they would never want to tax themselves.
