north american designates a larger group described by continent.

Europeans can be French, English, German, etc. North Americans can be Mexican, Canadian, American(as in United States of America). Its that simple.

this is dumb. canadians and americans are both english language dominated countries, and both have a pretty similar economy and political system. We both (for the most part) are exposed to the same mass media. I know there are differeces but compared to china and slovakia and stuff they're pretty canada and america are pretty similar, but candaians are canadians. americans are americans. this canadians are americans talk is dumb. candaians are similar to americans but not the same. you could have a canadian and an american that are very similar but as a whole canadians and americans aren't the same thing.

I have alot of REALLY good friends who are American and my girlfriend is American, but alot of times I meet people who just have that typical 'American' attitude that they are the best and no one else matters. I dunno how to explain it. Alot of Americans are just WIERD... Like who relaly carried a gun around? Not many other places in the world have as wierd of opinions as many Americans do. I mean, really, how can you thinkthat God is on your side and no one else's?

Nine Milla i agree with a lot of shit you said but just because george w. advocates awful foreign policy doesn't mean that americans agree with it. i hate the way this administration is handling issues and turning the world against us. the 'war on terror,' for example, is just gonna produce more terrorism and anti-american sentiments. i hope americans are smarter than i think we are and choose not to re-elect bush, although i guess technically it isn't re-election since we never elected him in the first place. and down with the electoral college, it's not the 1700's anymore.
