i think my iq just dropped ten points by reading some of the responses in this thread.

i am an american and i am fine with the whole world hating our government. hell, i hate them too. and frankly if i lived in another country,i would bash every chance i got. but as i live in america under a president who i personally think is mentally challenged, if i say one thing against the government or oppose their policies e.g. the pointless wars, freedom fries, etc. than i am labeled as unpatriotic/a threat to society.

That's the first thing I noticed when I read the first post, somebody obviously did not think their statement through. Most people hate "America" for a reason though, there is an abundance of flaws to choose from. I live in the US and I personally prefer the atmosphere in Canada, there are a lot less assholes up there. To each his own, I guess.
 
I just got back from canada and it was fucked. The US is such a better country, canada is full of stupid people and inbreds and is owned by intawest. It sucks. US ALL THE WAY.

Funny how NOBODY knows the history of the word "America". America was a name given to this area long before the US was formed. The old explorers used to call it the "Americas". That's why it's called North America...not because The US stole the name and played it out like it was its name.

Actually, for someone who's trying to look like he has so much more knowledge than anybody else in this thread, you know surprisingly little... the name "America" was given to the new world by a mapmaker named Amerigo Vespucci who fraudulently claimed to have travelled there, and it stuck.

i wonder why people dont understand that the only thing that changes when your cross the 49th is the kind of candy bars you can buy. theres really no difference between canadians and americans. you might as well argue that oregonians and washingtonians are oh-so-different. theyre not. ive lived in both countries for long periods of time, and ive got lots of family in canada. so... im not just making stuff up here...

admittedly quebec and newfoundland might be different stories, but ive never been there... so i dont really know.

Don't tell me about american tourists, there are 5 canadians that live in MY neighbor hood in MY country and they are just the same as everyone else, and no I was there the first half of decemeber, and I got ripped off and treated like shit by alot of people.

No I have a lot of friends from Canada and I was nice while I was there, but got a lot of crap, especially getting searched and background checked and my car ripped to pices while I was coming in. Its not that different from the US. Liability is the same, the only reason that you don't have homeland security? Is because you don't fight agaist the bad, against terrorism, or help the innocent. You hide. So everyone leaves you alone./
