In some ways the whole broadcast (particularily the panel hired by CTV) seemed a little biased towards the Conservative Party. It kind of shows when the panel was given a moment to have their final say, and conratulations to the Harper government, it consisted mainly of, "Good luck to the Harper family, they have much to celebrate tonight", somewhat snooty comments (haha snooty) if you ask me. Also, when CTV showed the clip of Harper addressing the people at Conservative HQ, it showed the part where he said , "We will do our best blah blah, and from time to time, we will make mistakes". Seems a little biased to me, and as News Broadcasters you typically don't like to see one-sided opinions.
On the other hand, there were quite a few that seemed really happy that the conservatives made it in. Mainly the West and all of Alberta (which is now completely Conservative due to McLellan (sp?) out of Edmonton) which is uplifting for me because I am Albertan. In less than a year I will be allowed to vote - OH YEAH!! I fergot, there was another thing that kind of bugged me. One member from the panel was insistent and very much convinced that the Liberals would give the CP one year for a cusion in parliament, but as soon as the year discipates, they will do all they can to return to power or atleast call another election. What garbage I think! The CP I think firmly planted themselves as leaders in Parliament for more than a year, if after 12 years was it of Liberal leadership they were beat out by a Conservative government than I think we will see CP leadership for a while to come. As well the coalition government seems like it will be very strong, all the Party leaders expressed their wishes to align with each other and talk on the issues surrounding Canada. All the Panel had to say on this one was, "Politicians may say that they will do this, it all seems wonderful, but at the end of the day they are still politicians, and I believe that they will all try to edge one another out sooner or later". It's bunk!
But there was a lot of support still. It just seemed a little biased is all.
