Ahhhhh bro...very sorry to hear that. I broke my fib and fractured my foot my first day in Whistler this year on a family reunion ski holiday, the day before my birthday! Launching over pow rollers, only for there to be a huge rock hidden behind the last one.
I go to school in Halifax get to ski a week at Whistler and maybe a few days in Nova Scotia each year, so it drove me insane. However, as I write this, I'm sitting up in bed, waking up to sunshine in Whistler. I am a die hard skier, and I have waited since December 19th to get back on the hill. Here are some suggestions:
- eat well. while you moss out, your body is working it's ass off to attach bones, feed the fire.
- keep it elevated for almost a month right after the recovery, this is crucial.
- respect every medical opinion you hear
- dont smoke too much weed, it only makes it more depressing!
- be around your friends, and dont forget the ones who were good to you. when they want to get you out to have fun, let them.
- wait. it's a long time, but now I'm back where it started, and I can tell you that it felt like yesterday.
Hope this helps. Stay strong!
(i also plan on finding my rock, and destroying it - how, i do not know)
