i wouldnt say the reason behind their lack of jumps is laziness honestly.  i used to think that, but if you check out what goes on at brighton you'll realize they rake and change shit up a lot, as well as build new features every season.  its really about snow - they tend to not blow as much snow in the jump line and wait for the conditions to allow for the jumps.  plus, most of the locals dont really care about jumps so that is a factor too.
