Bad news - seeing as Auburn won, AND BSU lost.. we wont see a Oregon - BSU rematch for the championship this year.
Good news. SOMEBODY ELSE WON THE FUCKING WESTERN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE (pending Nevada's almost certain victory over Louisiana Tech)

It's true. If Boise was a national title contender, they would have had to beat Nevada - who certainly is not, despite how good they are.

i understand all of that... but nevada had nothing to lose. the pressure wasn't as big because if they lose, cool.... everyone loses to BSU.

but bsu had EVERYTHING to lose and nevada wanted em.

it would be difficult to be under all of that pressure. with that said, brotzman has had an excellent season besides this game. idk. my head hurts from all this
 
Nevada had plenty to lose... This is the best team they have ever assembled. If they were ever going to take down ANYONE, this was the year... and they finally beat boise for the first time in like 12 of them....
They just won the conference championship. That's HUGE for Nevada.
 
hahahahaha, finally. Its about time. Now if TCU can lose and the cheaters in auburn can lose. I'd rather see tcu in the national championship now than auburn though, cause auburn will be stripped of all their wins and championships by the end of it.

But its time to talk about real football programs now. Not this wac shit.

Boise. Nevada. Fresno State. Hawaii. 2 have been in BCS games without an auto qualifyer. 1 has been victorious in 2 of them. Nevada would have a chance to go to one this year if it didnt lose to Hawaii, and Fresno State has more balls than any of these pussy big schools who schedule creampuffs for non-conference.
The Pac 10 is the true conference though... SEC is overrated as fuck, and never plays on the road anywhere. Not only that but they are as self righteous as can be. fuck those guys.
I hope Oregon lays the smackdown on its 2nd SEC team this year...
 
You think I care that much about that? I'm just stoked we've beat the fuck out of LA and Chicago so far this season... We're winning the games that matter for once...
 
So lame that they lost, now all I can root for is the Ducks to win the championship...I don't want to see a team like Auburn where if this Cam Newton stuff is proven true they will be stripped of everything because he was ineligible to play...so stupid.

Further proof that strength of schedule MATTERS, Boise can beat as many fairy ass teams in a row that it wants, but if they go to a real bowl they're just gonna get rolled. I love my ducks

Boise's downright OWNED both Oregon AND Oregon State.
The only reason Boise gets shit on is because nobody wants to actually play them and get showed the fuck up. Meanwhile, Alabama, and Florida, and Texas all schedule creampuffs from the FCS who cant hold a finger to them (thus BUYING a W) So they have to play crappy teams AND THEN they have to mow through what's actually a VERY talented and underrated Wac (as seen from tonight's outcome... even though Nevada got pretty lucky and everyone in Reno knows it)
I ate duck for Thanksgiving. It was damn tasty.
 
I'm just talking this year. Boise just isn't as good as they've been. Conversely Oregon is much better than in years past

I will say this much though... I'm seeing a LOT more Oregon stickers on cars than usual...
Oh well - Cal has it's bandwagon too so I cant say much about my school. The good thing we can all count on is that NOBODY'S going to be a bandwagon Stanfurd fan haha.
 
Im talking about programs with real history, real tradition, real gamedays. Name a WAC team that has 4 national championships(that could be 5), 7 undefeated seasons, 16 conference titles, in divisions such as the SEC and ACC with legendary coaches. You will see a huge difference between wac school and Sec and some acc schools on gameday. They might be real programs but they are still in a insignificant conference with a cupcake schedule with not much tradition. I guess you have to begin somewhere though.

I hope Oregon smacks them down too. SEC is def overrated, but it is still a very tough conference. their fans piss me off and I have to deal with them since I live in SEC country. So fuck auburn, and to hell with georgia. I hope tech can send those mutts home for the holiday so they dont go to a bowl. FUCK UGA.
 
First Boise played tcu. Oregon played Ohio State.

Alright, I know the SEC doesnt have the hardest OOC, but it is hardly creampuff FCS. Let's take a look at some of the games they've played

BAMA- Penn State, who knew they wouldn't be strong this year.

Auburn-(fuck auburn and those cheating bastards. I think they had 4 away games this year), they played clemson, who brought them to overtime

USCe-clemson

Tennessee- oregon, although when that deal was made, they prob didnt know how bad tennessee would be.

uga-georgia tech.

vandy-northwester, wake forest (remember its vandy, they never win conference games, yet that is an impressive OOC schedule for a bottom sec team)

Florida-florida state

LSU-West Virginia, UNC

Most teams have 1, maybe 2 decent OOC games. Also Bama will play michigan in 2012, georgia tech in the far future. Tech will also play auburn fairly soon(which btw, speaking of cupcake OOC schedules. Auburn was supposed to play tech in 2004, but they took tech off the schedule for an easy team that they knew they could beat. They went undefeated but were not picked to go to the BCSNCG because they had a weak schedule, fuck em)

Its not as bad as you think. Sec teams have to play hard teams every week. Its no surprise they put easy teams in their schedule since the teams in the conference are hard. Big Ten does this too. ACC as well.

The outcome of the nevada boise state does nothing for your conference. The only way to compare is out of conference games. They might be talented, but its no where near the other conferences. The wac cannot compete for big recruits like other conferences and the region is not as big about football.

if auburn and tcu lose....... there is a chance a fucking chance in hell since lsu will not be in the sec chmp game...... there could be a oregon stanford ncg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but that is prob not going to happen.
 
Seriously is anyone actually surprised? It's the first and only good team they've played all year. The second best is VT....haha.
 
I was releived to see them lose as my biggest fear as a college football fan would be to have a TCU Boise State national title game.
 
No, Nevada won the football game, we weren't lucky, we came out to play and we played like we wanted to win (atleast in the second half). Missing field goals is a part of the game. We will never hear the end of butthurt boise fans saying "we shoulda won that game" obviously you shouldn't have because you lost.

Boise State lost that game. Nevada was extremely lucky. I kick catch interference call that led to a Nevada touchdown should not have been called and most likely would have gave BSU the momentum and a 31-7 lead.

Boise's outstanding receivers also drop lots of easy to catch balls, BSU's receivers are usually very sure handed. Brotzman BSU's leading scorer missed two feild goal that were chip shots. And BSU's defense did not show up to play. They looked like the defense years past.

To say Nevada won, and were not lucky, is just plain ignorant to say the least. All of Nevada knows it that they got away with one there. They are a very talented team, but they were lucky that BSU played uncharacteristically.

Good teams find a way to win. When a team makes mistake after mistake, they still find ways to make the stops and win the game. There were plenty of opportunities for boise to win. You lost. Stop blaming it on the refs. good teams find a way to win, and boise did not find a way to win yesterday. I can think of a few other teams that were up against much tougher opposition that found a way to win.

Im not being a dick. If you read the thread there were a bunch of bsu fans arguing that nevada got lucky and didnt deserve it, implying that bsu is still the better team. My team, Georgia Tech's season was already destroyed in week 2 and we just suck this year.

 
I never said Nevada didnt deserve it. I simply said they got lucky. BSU had to lose sometime. But they paid very poorly that game, and they lost it. Nevada did get lucky that BSU didnt show up to play.

And yes BSU is still the better team.
 
You cant say that because BSU lost to nevada, and oregon could beat nevada that oregon could beat BSU. thats a stupid argument sorry.
