Haha. My mom's entire family is from the south dude... I've been there aaa lot. She was born in Virginia, my grandparents were born in kentucky, I have a billion cousins in Kentucky, Louisiana, West Virginia (doesnt really count, but they all seem to think they're from the south...), and GEORGIA (savannah area, mostly).
I'm talkin shit on the mountains because the ones I hang around are twice as tall haha. I've been in the Appalachians. I know what they are, and yeah, they're different and cool lol.
I guess I did forget they played VA tech. My bad. And, I mixed this years' schedule up with last year... they started off against San Jose THIS season. Last year they played Florida International AND Tennesee-Chattanooga (even worse). It's one thing to schedule a single FCS school... it's another to schedule 2 of them... and to me that nullyfies the strength of the VA Tech game, anyway. They had 7 games in Tuscaloosa, and one on neutral turf... Not what I personally would call a strong schedule. Theyre only away games in the SEC were at KU, in mississippi twice, and then at Auburn for the Iron Bowl... which, if I'm not mistaken, half the stadium was filled with Bama fans anyway. IF you see it from my perspective, there were only 3 true away games all year for Bama.
Georgia Tech does have some crazy offense, but I wasnt talking about the ACC so much. I honestly dont know ACC football that well now that half the teams are formerly from the Big East anyway. The conference's dynamic has changed a bit.
Wac and MWC teams cant compete money-wise with teams from BCS conferences... but they certainly compete on the football field and that's been shown - no other mid-major conference has sent as many teams to BCS bowls, and if you combine the MWC (all former wac schools) then you might as well just give the Wac an AQ slot, because they've bogarted that shit the last few years. The recent version of the Wac has never been last in conference rankings, actually. The Sun Belt is the doormat of that ranking just about every season. The Wac tends to also get the shortend of the stick in that regard seeing as games are always late at night, and are usually not telivised. Unless voters on the east coast want to stay up and watch games on ESPN3, then nobody sees them, and they dont get recognition from folks like you back east.
By the way. Stanfurd Jonah kinda = Up with the White and Gold. HIgh five for fight songs.
