It's been a while so the memories are vague, but I remember hearing stories of him uneccessarily verbally berating employees, often for little or no reason at all, from at least 3 or 4 of my friends. I'm sure it's bearable as long as you don't get on his bad side though.

Also, some shameless self promotion- just posted my edit for the year, link is in my sig. Lots of bw skiing in it.

a friend of mine in the meeting told me that that two people snuck into the meeting an hour late and thought that nobody would notice. apparently Boyd called both of them out on it and pretty much made an example out of them, and told both of them to leave. The dude who snuck in got into an argument with him and called him a dick in front of everybody. Boyd just told him to leave again, and they both left. I understand boyd running a tight ship but he doesnt have to a such a dick about it imo.

The temps look good at night in the next few weeks but like you said bmbw has no dedication
 
Is mad river going ready to open asap? They have more dedication than bmbw and our season passes get us half off lift tickets there.

was about to say this. They and snow trails usually push early. Since I'm in Columus until dec 16th or so, that's perfect for me.

BMBW sucks huge nuts, we should all know they'll be the last open in ohio

I wouldn't say that snow trails always makes a push. They had their earliest opening and it was thanksgiving weekend. They just had common sense last year.
 
I'm just hoping perfect north can open within a week, I need to ski soooo bad, this was the first summer I didn't ski at all.

haha yeah at this point I dont even know why they tried, probably publicity. I've accepted my fate that I likely won't get to ski until the end of the semester.

And i was correct. Im just going to put some storage wax on my skis and put them away because it will be another month before i see snow.

What did you expect? Did you expect them to magically fly snow in from colorado and open the hill for a day???

It isnt their fault they dont know when opening is. Ohio weather sucks and we can't do anything about it until we are 18.

Idk. I was maybe expecting a prediction based on long term weather. I would also maybe would like to know if they are thinking about making snow at night when it starts to get cold even if it warm in the day like seven springs.

It was cold enough there for a longer amount of time. We would have had maybe 15 hours of warm snowmaking which would have just melted. Seven springs was hitting temps of 19 degrees last weekend. We got down to 27 in Peninsula. Opening date wouldn't move if they made snow last week because it would have just melted.
 
My money is on opening day being December 18th. A ton of kids will be wanting to go over holiday hours and if they have enough snow to build some base they will do anything for money.
 
Holy shit it's not looking good boys. In the 15 day forecast for peninsula, I see 0 nights where it dips below 28 degrees. I miss the years where I could ski every day for my winter break. but the last couple years, I've hardly gotten to ski over winter break. which is fucked since it's dec 16th- jan 7th or something.

I understand why everybody I know got the fuck out of ohio eventually, we're the last to start our season.
 
Have you checked accuweather??? The monthly forecast calls for opening day on the 18th. A little far out but atleast we get holiday hours this year. If it isnt right then we atleast know that there is some cold coming. I've been talking to a seven springs groomer I know and he said they wont be open for another week or two.

ohhh shit that got my jimmies rustled. Still not happy about the forecast for bmbw though, you know how much they hate to blow when it's 40+ in the daytime, no matter how cold it is at night.

LOL they are forced to. Their number one customers start the 26th.... freaking ski club. Atleast my school does. Last year when they were getting worried about opening they didn't even care about a ton of rain.

This year they should at least make snow at night and make a pre season park on the bunny hill.

They have done it in the past but idk if josh boyd is cool enough. Ski club starts december 26th so they will do everything in their power to open.

Yeah I've noticed in past years that their operations revolve around ski club. When it starts they will try and open and when it ends it seems like they give up .

When do you think Bmbw will finally decided to start snowmaking because I see many different weather reports?
 
I'm gonna be really mad if the park is utterly shit again this year. They need to fucking do something about park crew, they failed to make 1 decent jump last year outside big air, and that doesn't really count since elia or whatever his name is does that.

This years season may start earlier then last years... its the long term weather that worries me. it seems like everyday will be above 32 at some point during the day. I hope accuweather is wrong about that
 
Yeah I look at the weather every day and it just bums me out. I don't know how bmbw will stay open for very long at all this season.

Idk if you have noticed but places like mammoth and places in California have weather where it can be 40+ in the day but they still make snow at night and have long seasons

Yeah even during a normal winter the place goes down hill once the club's end. Wish I could afford to go to hood or whistler in the summer
